We sale more than just great bagels. We have breakfast, lunch & dinner items all day long. All of our soups are home made. Our BBQ specials are smoked at least 15 hours and all of our cheese cakes, pies, & muffins are made from sratch. We offer potato salad or pasta salad with all of our sandwiches which are also made from scratch. We make home made quiche. We offer a different 13.5″ breakfast burrito daily. We have 11 varieties of bagels plus all of our specialty bagels. Our restaurant is a cozy place to hang out with friends and family or have a business meeting. History

Established in 2015.

We have discussed opening a restaurant for many years and finally in 2015 we decided to make it a reality. We went out to eat alot and over the years we have noticed there are not many places that offered consistent good food. We like smoked BBQ and there was none in the area plus we researched and found there were no bagel shops near here. We found this location, which was a gym, and decided this is where we wanted to open up Country Bagel. It took 3 ½ months of pain staking work for all the changes to take place in changing a gym to a restaurant. We wanted it to be inviting and comfortable for everyone and we think we have achieved this. We have free WIFI and can do their work in our comfortabel environment and great food. Come by and see all we have to offer.

If you’re gonna call yourself a bagel store your bagels should be your showcase product. We stopped at 11am and got a couple of bagels. They were as hard as rock. The clerk said she couldn’t understand it because they made them just that morning. Hmmm…
Anyway they replaced them with fresher ones. Had them toasted too just to be sure.
The service is fine, just disappointed with the bagels.

Worst mocha I have ever had! Baristas were fighting over the espresso machine, left my espresso shots sitting there for quite some time. I am a barista and know that shots expire within 15 seconds. This was a horrible experience.

Place is very charming and staff are welcoming.
I eat the Lox and Cream Cheese. It’s good, but on all three ocasions, the bagel hasn’t been toasted.
I do feel it’s a bit over priced. Sandwich and small coffee is over $ 12.00.

Am I the only one baffled by how expensive this place is? Maybe I’ve been spoiled by living in cities all my life, but how can a bagel place get away with how small these bagels are? Just to get coffee, a bagel and a smear of cream cheese for me and a friend, I’ve got to shell out over $ 10 bucks and still be hungry for breakfast. I can have a full service breakfast for a couple bucks more, across the street at Country Cliff’s. Make the bagels bigger! Please! I’m an everyday commuter from Mt. Ranch to Jackson that would love a quick place to stop on the early morning drive without wounding my wallet.

I don’t think I’ve had worse bagels ever. I’m baffled with how a place can claim to make fresh bread of any kind and have it be so dry and tasteless as the bagel I had here. I was really hoping this place would be good, but it’s not. So disappointed! The BBQ does smell good and I have not tried their coffee.

I appreciate that they’ve broken the typical San Andreas vibe and have designed a clean, cute, and modern place to grab a bite, hang out or study, and drink a coffee. However, prices are steep. I hope they realize that at nearly $ 20 for a dozen bagels, they aren’t going to survive in this county. I want to support this business, but can’t justify spending close to $ 5 on a bagel with cream cheese… so now I just get coffee, which is surprisingly good!

This morning I had an excellent cappuccino, the medium size which was actually quite large. It tasted great and my only criticism of it was that there wasn’t any cinnamon or chocolate powder to shake on top. The excellent selection of bagels today made it hard to decide but I ended up with the «everything» one toasted, with green onion cheese spread and it was excellent. I’d like to see more cream cheese flavors, especially smoked salmon.
It looks like they’re starting to do more BarBQ also, and the equipment for it out in front makes that seem promising so I’m anxious to try it. The specials board said there was going to be pulled pork today. Happily, no ultra offensive décor was there. I could do without the gun «art» but can live with that I guess. The couches are comfortable, it’s spacious with plenty of seating and in the lounge area there’s a clever popup table between the couches, and a large screen TV. It’s very comfortable. Try it, there is such a need for places like this is San Andreas which has so few really good eateries.

Absolutely what this little town needed! The food and the owners are the best. Whenever I go in I’m totally treated like family. The food is fresh, and the amount is perfect. Healthy, without paying for so much extra food. The décor is very country. EVERYTHING is very tastefully placed on the walls. Very family friendly. I’m so happy you’re here Country Bagel!

There is a new Bagel Sheriff in town. Heck, we have been without bagels in Calaveras since that joint in Murphys closed down over 10 years ago. I am from the East Coast, so I have my own idea what a bagel should taste like. I don’t care about the atmosphere (which is pretty darn cute) or the service (which was pretty darn good) but about the bagels. So I took a dozen home to the family. All 4 of us did a little bagel happy dance.
Next time I will try the coffee and talk to them about that confederate flag. That will be a deal breaker.

Huge improvement now that they have some experience under their belts. The lox & bagel continues to be decent, although I still can’t seem to get them to toast the bagel or give me the right bagel (I got garlic instead of onion). They say «of course» and doublecheck my order now, but it still comes out untoasted and cold and with the wrong bagel.
Given how much improvement I see, however, I fully expect the bagels to come out correctly and toasted early this year. Most of the cheesy banners are gone from the exterior (although the driveway banners and inflatable monstrosity are still there – which, sadly, is de riguer for commercial establishments in San Andreas.
The confederate flag has been removed. The staff are in cool purple bagel t-​shirts rather than wifebeater tanks and sweatpants. Service has become more professional and less discombobulated. The counter is leas confusing. And the interior is as gorgeous as ever, with easy listening music played at a tasteful volume.
Bravo! Now please just start getting the bagels right.

Loved it! I ordered the Turkey, Avocado bagel sandwich and asked for ham instead of turkey. They accommodated my request and it was delicious. My mom loved the lox and capers on her bagel too.
My young girls had bagels w/​cream cheese and I asked for a slice of ham on the side. The staff was happy to do that and my girls loved it! Coffee was good and service very friendly, cheerful. The décor and table design, couches, etc are beautiful!
Hope this place makes it because you can tell they’ve put a lot of work into creating a warm, friendly and welcoming place to eat.

I was pleasantly surprised with this new restaurant (finally) in San Andreas and wish the owners success. The bagels were the truest tasting bagel I have had in a long time. The bagels of the area are simply bread with holes, including those offered at Starbucks where they are really a rip off. Remember, the fatter and bigger the bagel, the worse it is!
I ordered a bagel with lox and received a very large portion of delicious lox. My daughter ordered Turkey, Avocado, etc. and asked for a ham substitute for the turkey. She loved it, as the ham was excellent. The little kids simply ordered cream cheese on theirs, so I can’t add much to that.
We loved the interior, the staff were friendly, maybe still learning what to do in an organized manner, but were willing to please. I understand the coffee is just ordinary, nothing like Motherlode or Gold Run Roasters. I agree that improving the coffee would absolutely and definitely get me to go there more often.
I will no longer have to buy a dozen GOOD Quality bagels in the Bay area to bring home for freezing. I can buy them fresh here in San Andreas, purchasing only a few at a time.
The cost was disturbing. No bagel that I know of without anything on it or in it, costs $ 2 each and the locals here might find this cost will keep them away.
Our experience today was pleasant, and we as a family agreed we would go back. However, the costs were a little high for this area.

Stopped in while my mom was in the hospital. It’s hard to find a place on Monday at 3pm. Service was good and accommodating a custom veggie bagel. Soup was home made nice since most people use pre packaged. Bagels are good. Great addition to this town.

This place is very comfortable inside. Their prices are too high for San Andreas. They need an espresso machine and someone who knows how to use it. If they are going to make sandwiches for $ 10.00 they should offer a bread choice and add a side. Buy a good toaster and ask customers if they want their bagel toasted. Lastly, don’t charge for butter and lower the price on cream cheese. Hope you pay attention to your reviews and try and correct what public is trying to tell you. Hope you are successful.

I’ve been in twice now. While the place is nice inside, the food is definitely meh, the portions are not generous, and the prices are kinda high. The service is slow and inefficient. The I wanted to like this place but I fear they are not long for this world.

Although they are new and working out the kinks some feedback is helpful to help them do better.
I suggest they have pricing for a dozen bagels with cream cheese. I ordered a dozen with cream cheese and paid $ 39.85 which I thought was way too much personally!
I think the bagels were good and the service not a 100% but will try again in a few weeks once they have had time to acclimate to the rush times and the feedback.

Waited for over 10 minutes for six cut bagels.
The other issue is this: there are two posted «decorative signs» on the with the confederate flag being displayed.
There are two more depicting guns (both attempting to be funny).
The gun ones aren’t that big a deal to me — the confederate flag is a deal breaker (this will turn tourists off coming up the hill).
It’s too bad… the bagels were actually very good.
