Slowest pharmacy I’ve ever been to. Plan on waiting at LEAST 30 – 45 min just to get helped. Then another 20 – 30 to finally get out the door.

I’ve been filling the same prescription here for 6 months. Every month they have a really difficult time finding my account, applying my insurance and, inevitably, I am treated like a criminal. I recognize that I take a controlled substance every day. It is prescribed, by a doctor, and I don’t appreciate some pharmacy tech judging my choices to be a functional productive adult. I have a lot of choice words for how their tech has treated me, none of them are considered socially appropriate.

This is my favorite Walgreens in the area! They always have what I need. They carry Jordana and Milani cosmetics, unlike some of the other Walgreens stores. Their beauty counter seems to always have good deals. I can always get a friendly welcome when coming in and even when I leave. The pharmacy is so-​so, I guess it just depends on the day, but nothing too bad. A nice stop, ²⁴⁄₇ in a prime area of Sugar House.

I love these guys! They are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to help you. I had a prescription that was 442.00 at the University Hospital pharmacy so I checked at Costco. The price at Costco was 375.00 but they didn’t have it in stock and wouldn’t for several days so I called Walgreens. Their price was 221.00! This is for the exact same prescription! What is the matter with this country? I’m sticking with Walgreens and if I have to wait a few minutes … oh well… I just saved 220.00 on one prescription by going there. Not to mention that they have everything a person could possibly need to stay alive and well. The prices can’t be beat and the friendly staff can’t either.

I read the other negative reviews of the pharmacy here on Unilocal,but I thought «how bad can it be.» It is easy to get to, and has a drive through pharmacy open late.
I refilled my Rx here twice. Each time I was in line I saw the staff acting rude and dismissive toward people ahead of me in line, and customers of all ages and walk-​of-​life departing in disbelief/​disgust.
I’ve been using Wallgreens as a pharmacy for around 10 years, in various cities. I’ve generally had good service at other locations. Sometimes the staff is busy, and they are navigating a lot of regulations and red tape to do their job, so it can take a while, but they always tried to help the customer. Not here.
This pharmacy won’t make outgoing calls to your doctor, won’t contact your insurance company, won’t dispense 3 day emergency supplies if you are without your medication for some reason (something every other location has done), charges a higher co-​pay for the same insurance plan. Above all else, the staff is rude and «aggressively insensitive».
After a particularly bad experience with a pharmacy staff member, I asked to speak with the manager to resolve my experience. The head pharmacist was like some kind of replicant/​automaton/​cylon, an expressionless corporate robot who dismissed my concerns as invalid as a matter of corporate policy (which is inconsistent with my experiences at many other Wallgreens locations over the past decade). I said I would be switching to another pharmacy (I was polite during this entire exchange), and she said «that sounds like a good idea.»
I looked up Costco pharmacy and their out-​of-​pocket cost is less than Wallgreens was charging me *with* partial insurance coverage for the same meds!
I didn’t encounter the long lines at this Wallgreens some others have described. I think it’s because most customers have gone elsewhere for better service.
Verdict: don’t waste your time here.

This place has shit service. I genuinely don’t know how it is still open. They pharmacy has improved but service is still not pleasant. It’s always a hassle to help me when checking out even though I ensure to be very polite and friendly. Must have bad management

I have been getting my prescriptions (also my girlfriend) filled here for several years. I don’t get the horrible reviews, all I can say I have never had an issue. What I do notice in a lot of the negative reviews seem to stem from people being impatient, like expecting a prescription to be ready 5 minutes after leaving your doctors office. But that seems to be the way people are anymore, their lack of planning and forethought (and need for instant gratification) somehow becomes a road to venting their anger on others. Anyway, when my Doc sends in a prescription it has always been ready in a few hours, I usually refill online and a I get a call with a recorded message letting me know it is ready to pick up. The pharmacy staff has always been nice to me, what I have observed when standing in line is uptight people who have a temper tantrum if they have to wait a bit. I mean there are reviews on here that the people that frequent this particular location are «crack heads» or «druggies», reviews that attack the staff personally, and reviews that attack the neighborhood. So for those folks, yes, please avoid the dangerous «crack head» infested Sugarhouse area and do business elsewhere. I don’t think the locals here will miss you one bit!

Slow service. Took a half hour to get visa photos. The guy that was helping me actually stopped helping me and went to ring people up. Then they broke the receipt machine. Anyways took forever.

If you have any other choice, don’t use this pharmacy. First it’s a very busy store and the lines can be endless. But wait-​time aside, the service is just horrible. I went in during non-​busy hours specifically because I had questions and concerns about a new Rx and how insurance coverage would shake out. The technician was in a huge hurry to get me out of the store, even tho I was the only person in the store, arguing with me on what my Drs office would or would not do and even cut me off mid-​sentence to take a customer phone call. When I tried a 2^nd time to drop off the Rx I asked the tech to run it through my insurance because it was potentially very expensive and I have new insurance. She ran it through and told me my co-​pay would be $ 10. Imagine my surprise when the price at pick up was over $ 200. So if you don’t mind long waits, a phone system you can’t get through, rude techs who don’t want to hear, let alone answer questions and you don’t care if a price quote is off by a couple hundred bucks, it’s a nice pharmacy. I’m transferring all my husband’s and my Rxs as soon as I need refills.

Worst pharmacy in town! They are always short staffed at the sugarhouse location. They take forever! Went there yesterday after some pretty serious dental work and they actually told me it would be 1 to 2 hours and there was one other person there! Went across the street to Smith’s and had my prescription in 15 minutes. That will be my last visit to the Sugarhouse Walgreens.

I come once a month to refill prescriptions and I dread coming all the time. I’m always waiting for 20+ minutes in the drive thru or in store. Multiple times they have charged my insurance company twice, have had the incorrect balance, and have lost my prescriptions. They’re always short staffed.

My experience with Pharmacist Brayden was excellent. He worked with my pharmacy in Seattle, got a very confusing insurance scenario worked out, and set me up for clarity in the «system». I know I will be returning to this Walgreen’s many times because of his commitment to get my records right.

Great location and open 24hrs which is very convenient. Always less lines than a grocery store. Best pharmacy too.

I love walgreens, but sometimes I have to go to the pharmacy later than I would like, and I have noticed that the lines are awful. Whether I am at the drive through window or inside, I end up having to wait much too long. It would be helpful to maybe have more workers on during these late hours. Up to 11 pm even.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever been to. Don’t go. I was 1 of 4 people who were waiting around for ridiculous amounts of time. I had a lost prescription, so got a new one from my doctor. Though it had been written that day, they needed the doctor to call them (they argued that it would have been ‘solicitation’ if the pharmacy were to call the doc). So I call the doctors office and explained. The lovely receptionist informed me that the pharmacy calls the doctor ALL of the time, and that they were just being jerks (mind you I’ve been in line twice to talk to someone at the pharmacy at this point, so I get in line again (I’ve been in here for 35 minutes at this point)). Doctor calls, good to go? Nope. I’m told I need to call my insurance company to see if they cover lost prescriptions. I call the insurance company, and they can’t figure out why the pharmacist didn’t just call them in the first place. That’s what they do. Back in line again to figure out why I need to be making all of these communications for Walgreens. I’m told that the pharmacist WILL do their job and contact the insurance company (I’ve been here for an hour now), but it really depends on the insurance company for how long this takes… not the pharmacist. So another 20 minutes later I finally am able to check out and get this ‘sorry about that’ from one of the much-​less-​than helpful pharmacy assistants.
Not to mention what the OTHER people around me who were also having issues were going through.
I cannot wait to find a pharmacy that has got it together.

I can’t stand this pharmacy. My husband keeps refilling his rx here because he forgets to transfer it to the one I use over on 45s. They are soooooooooo slow! It’s just picking up a refill and yet somehow that takes a half hour? Give me a break. Go over to the one at the corner on 4500s&900e, they are much faster.

The pharmacy at this location has show me time and time again that they are so incompetent that they do not know their a**s from holes in the ground. Looking into their eyes is like looking at a child that has wandered into a movie late and wants to know what’s going on. If they were not so close to my house I wouldn’t even buy a pack of gum from them. It’s a miracle to me that they can find a group of people this amazingly special all in one place. There is better customer service at the taco stand on the street corner. Walgreens should be embarrassed and is a joke to me that they are still in business. Words do not explain how horrid this place is

24 pharmacy can get pretty busy but it’s very convenient. The pharmacist is a champ and very helpful.
I’ll definitely go back.

Worst photo counter you can try in all of SLC.
I like to play a game where I stand there as long as possible, gazing at the photo lab person, and wondering whether or not I died in a tragic accident on my way here and now I’m a ghost, cursed to haunt the photo place that has wronged me easily 10 times in 4 years.

The worst customer service I have seen in a long time. The store is fine but the pharmacy is a nightmare. The wait times are absolutely ridiculous. I can’t believe they even get business at all. It’s not just a one time coincidence either! I have filled prescriptions here numerous times and it’s always a joke! The staff members are rude and have no sense of urgency. I would recommend going elsewhere if you don’t want to die before you get your prescription!!!
