Train Walk Poop

I use train walk poop every time I go out of town and need someone to walk/​play with my dog Wilson while I’m away. On normal days Wilson is let out twice a day once in the morning and once at night. When I’m away from home Train walk poop gives my little buddy 30 minute walks twice a day. They play with him, walk him, and feed him. It’s an invaluable service that is extremely reasonable on the wallet. Love this company and their service.

I called TWP from out of state, about a Chihuahua I took in for a friend, having had no dog owner experience and no particular liking of the Chihuahua breed. It was a dog I knew and liked for years so I was happy to take him so my 5 yo could have a dog, but he came with nervous, anti social behaviors including nipping. Ryan with TWP listened carefully and provided the best advice he could sight unseen. He pointed me to resources and answered several follow up questions. His advice was solid and his daycare boot camps sound incredible! If we were locals I would have used it for sure.

In January I had a family emergency that took me out of town suddenly. My neighbor who usually watches my cat was also away so I had to hire Train Walk Poop. The day I flew out, I met with Ryan, the owner of the company. He was very friendly and I spent over 20 minutes explaining in detail what my cat needed. I explained that she didn’t need the full 15 minutes of time, even, but that she needed her water bowl refilled, her food replenished, and her poop scooped. The basics. I also gave a LOT of details so it would be as clear as possible to the sitter, eliminating confusion. This was, of course, in addition to the long form I completed online detailing all of the same things.
I got home: both water bowls were dry, cat litter box was full of poo and pee, and her food looked like it hadn’t been touched (certainly the dishes I had left out for that purpose had not been used). She was hungry when I got home. I was surprised and upset.
I called Ryan. He was also surprised and said he would call the sitter. The sitter claimed to have done all the things that I had requested. Ryan reported that to me and I said that it was clear that these things had not been done and the outcome was that my cat was neglected. Ryan basically said he believed the sitter, not me, in spite of what I saw when I got home.
I had paid for two visits. Someone definitely came, though I’m not sure what they did. They put a fancy QR code thing on my fridge and wrote sweet notes. They didn’t follow my directions or provide basic care for my cat. To remedy the situation, Ryan offered one free visit. He did not offer to refund me the money or any other option. Based on the lack of care my cat received in January, I decided to skip the «free» visit.
Save your fancy online receptionist and forms, your QR codes, incessant emails, notes, and technology. Feed and tend to the animals in your care. I would AVOID this company if you can…

You CAN teach an old dog new tricks. At least, Ryan & his cohort of dog wizards can.
Full disclosure: Ryan is my pal and I’ve known about his dog training mastery for years. Literally, years. But it wasn’t until this year, when I brought home a puppy of my own, that I’ve seen him and his team in action.
Their services run the gamut. Dog walking, poop scooping, puppy daycare, training, socialization classes (did I mention for free?) and even a boot camp for dogs who need a 2-​week reboot. But the list doesn’t stop there, whatever you and your dog may need, they have a solution.
My partner and I have taken advantage of the puppy training sessions (3, 2-​hour sessions come in a package) where Ryan came to our house to see how Huxley is in her home environment and taught her the 1−2-3s of doggy obedience. I’m also a big fan of their walking service with online booking. I can just hop onto the web and schedule a walk same-​day if I know I am going to be at work late (say, at 11 am, I can schedule a 30 minute walk for 2 pm).
Huxley attended their [new] doggy daycare last week and came home each day exhausted. This is a great thing, as I know she was playing with her new bff — Blanche the baby bulldog, taken for good walks, and learning how to socialize with the other dogs at school. Every morning now, she’s waiting by the front door and hoping it’s a school day.

Love these guys! I have two older dogs and two cats. I was taking the dogs to be boarded at City Pet Club which I would not recommend to anyone (but that’s a whole other long story). Because my dogs are older they didn’t like socializing with younger dogs and laying on concrete at a boarding facility I wanted someone to come to my house. I gave Train Walk Poop a try and loved them! They follow detailed instructions, like one of my dogs can’t use stairs, one of my cats is terrified of new people among other things. Their check in process is wonderful, and they let you know how visits went. In fact I got a phone call from Ryan when he noticed one of my dogs was bleeding from a minor scratch she did to herself. We got home early and met one of the care takers/​walkers, Elizabeth. She was great! The dogs were calm and happy when we got home. All the pets bowls clean. I will definitely be using them again!

I have been Using the services of Train Walk Poop for a few weeks now. My first experience was with Meg. She gave my Pitbull Toa his first walk with them. She was on time, and left detailed notes on how the walk went! They are all suppose to do this, which I love. She was so nice, and great with communicating with me. This last weekend I went out of town for our anniversary and used their dog sitting services. It was amazing! They came to let my dogs out, brush them, walk them, take them in walks, and cleaned up the yard before we got home! Best anniversary present ever! Love them. No complaints.

I LOVE this company! With my drive, I work a 13 hour day and there is no way I would have a dog if it wasn’t for dog walkers. I brought my new rescue home to find that my two neighborhood dog walking volunteers had changed their minds! AHHH! I spent a few hours researching local agencies and when I called Ryan at TrainWalkPoop, he called me back in less than an hour. Kate (awesome!) was at my house THAT NIGHT meeting my mini schnauzer Dempsey, and going over how the company works, etc. I’ve been using them since February and couldn’t be happier! The «check in» when they arrive and GPS tracking are incredibly reassuring. I have also had some in-​home training with Ryan and Kate and their methods and philosophies are wonderful. They really teach you to communicate with your dog, instead of trying to just train the dog to do things. I have complete confidence in the walkers and I really can’t give a better endorsement to a company than to say I allow them to come into my house and take my dog! Other than a babysitter, what could be more important?
