Thirteen years ago, I got burned by a loan officer. I was buying an apartment complex, and the night before I was going to close on the purchase, my «well-​respected» loan officer told me I needed another 10% for my down-​payment and that my interest rate would be 1% higher than she’d been quoting me. I felt betrayed and foolish for allowing myself to get into that situation. I decided to become a mortgage professional myself and treat my clients the way I wish I would have been treated. Over the last 13 years, we’ve helped a lot of great clients and friends finance the purchase of their new home. It’s something we still love doing to this day! In 2013 we had the pleasure of advising 422 families on the financing of their new homes.
