Established in 2014.
Pacific Island Knowledge to Action Resources began with a few community members that wanted to help where they passion lay to help bridge mainstream service providers and Pacific Island organizations and groups with cultural relevant adds for impact in our communities at large around Domestic Violence and Economic Development.
Meet the Manager
Susi M.
Manager
Susi was born on the island of Tonga in the South Pacific and adopted outside of her race at 3 years old. She became acquainted with her ethnic race in college. Susi has many years of non profit work but not in her own ethnic race until she moved to Salt Lake City a few years ago. Upon her completion of 2 years as the Fundraising Chair on the Board of the National Tongan-American Society she wanted to continue to work in the Pacific Island community however in areas of her experience. Domestic Violence and Economic Development. Susi and her husband own Above & Beyond Travel with an office in Vava’u, Tonga where they spend many months of the year. Susi is a survivor of Domestic Violence at the hand of a Pacific Islander in Salt Lake City 30 years ago. When she moved back to Salt Lake and recognized that in 30 years there had not been any movement in the community or main stream service providers being effective in the Pacific Island community she wanted to see if her bi cultural
