Dr Muse provides excellent medical care. I have found the staff to be courteous, professional and friendly. I’ve been a patient for a couple of years.

I have been a patient of Dr Brian Drage for 25 years. At my most recent visit, Brian was in Montana, and Dr. Muse substituted. The visit was for refill on my medications. I explained to Dr Muse that because of my ex-husbands death 2 days previous and my attendance at his services with our children, it was important for me to have the refills as I was traveling out of state. Dr Muse was very sympathetic and wrote 6 month refills. When I went to the pharmacy, Select Health would not give me a 90 day refill on one medication, substituting 30 days. The services and the grief were were overwhelming the following week, and I took 1 additional pill each of the next 5 days to manage my anxiety, which had significantly risen to an unbearable level. When I returned home, the pharmacy would not refill my medication until 30 days had passed. I contacted Highland to seek a way to alleviate my anxiety for 5 days until the pharmacy would refill. Their response was: the provider said I had a refill set for 30 days, and«she» would not provide any alleviation. This is the first time in 25 years that I was un satisfied with their services. Who was«she» who made this decision? I had seen Derek Muse and he understood the situation with my husbands death. Yet, «she» made the decision to deny me?

I started going to Highland Family practice about 15 years ago, seeing Dr. Derek Muse. Coincidentally my wife had also been going there since she was a kid to the same doctor.(We met elsewhere though). Eventually we ended up seeing another doctor their, Dr. Brian Drage. Dr. Drage is a first class family doctor. Unlike some people I’ve met in the medical field he truly cares about his patients. He is also good because he won’t hesitate to call you on your BS. He’ll give you a good dressing down when you aren’t doing what you need to, to take care of yourself. The nurses are all great, although Mindy left in the last few years and I miss her. My only complaint is the front office people are nazis about payment. There is no working with them. If you don’t have payment upfront you won’t be seen no exception. That’s frustrating when you’ve been such a long term good patient. So in summary, the doctors and nurses are great. The front office people are polite but very strict about payment matters. They do not accept medicaid or PCN either which can be a challenge if you are low income. If you need a good family doctor and you have insurance that covers them I strongly recommend giving Dr. Drage a try. He’s an excellent family practitioner.
