History
Established in 1973.
In 1972, Moe and Sylvia Girouard moved from New Hampshire to Salt Lake City to be near some of the greatest skiing on earth. After a year in the Rockies, they missed those killer subs from back east and decided to bring them to Utah. In 1973, Moe and his brother Roger Girouard opened a small sub shop on State Street, across from the old South High School.
In 2010 the State Street location was purchased by Curtis deLagerheim. As a long time Grinders 13 employee/manager he still keeps to the Grinders 13 tradition and hopes to provide these classic «killer subs» to the SLC community for decades to come.
All deli meats are sliced fresh daily, right down to slow cooking the roast for the roast beef sandwiches, and hand-trimming and slicing the steaks for their famous Philly steaks, cheese steaks, and pepper steaks.
Come in today and try one of our east coast classics, and enjoy our fresh cooked French fries with fry sauce!
