A fellow Unilocaler recommended I try this place out since they had great Pastor. It is extremely close to my work and I convinced a couple coworkers to go with me. I feel horrible that I drug them here. The last thing my coworker said to me was«If I call you tomorrow sick on the toilet and you are not sick too, then I am going to be pissed.» I should have known to just walk away. We waited about 5 minutes to place our orders and my impatient coworker said«screw this» and walked out, went four doors down to Little Caesars and grabbed a $ 5 hot and ready lunch special, came back and ate it at the table. We were still ordering as our coworker was seated, chowing his pizza, licking his lips and laughing at us. KB was right. I ordered two pastor tacos, two chicken tacos de canasta, and a drink for a little over $ 6. My coworker got the chile verde smothered burrito with carne asada and it was served with rice and beans for $ 7.54. The pastor tacos were a bit salty and dry and they were very miniscule. The tacos de canasta were a novelty to me and I really wanted to try them. They were filled with a small tablespoon of bland shredded chicken breast. I tried using all the toppings to jazz these tacos up and make them bigger but it was just sad. Finally my coworker got his smothered burrito and it was flat out nasty. He made everyone try how bad it was. The meat tasted old and rancid, and KB even called it «feline» like. Yes… there were speculations if this meat truly came from a cow. Even the rice and beans were terrible. The chile verde was like a watery tasteless salsa. I have never seen this guy leave food on his plate and walk away until today. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this place. The taco game is strong in this neck of the woods and there are too many other places to get better $ 1.50 tacos.

The paletas are top notch. They have a large variety of both water and milk based ice pops and all the ones we tried were delicious. They’re $ 1.50 or $ 1.00 on Tuesdays.

I’ve passed by this place a few times and always wanted to try it because I love hitting up the paleterias in TX so much and finally had a chance last night. I was utterly disappointed. I go in and there are no customers, yet people were walking around who obviously worked there but it took a little while for someone to finally come help me. And of those people it was the young boy(maybe 13 or 14) who had been sitting there watching his Disney show that finally walked over to take my order. This fact didn’t bother me much because the kid was very nice. I got a diablito which I figured was a safe bet since everyone I’ve ever tried was a winner. Now at other paleterias when I’ve had this BEFORE, it was yummy with mango chunks in it or mango ice cream with a sweet tamarind sauce. The one I got from HERE, was just shaved ice with tamarind sprinkled on it. I was pretty bummed I had just paid $ 4 for a tamarind sno cone. I wanted to love this place so badly but couldn’t. Hopefully I can find a better paleteria in Utah one of these days. 1-star for the snow cone; an extra star because the boy who helped me was very nice.

Great selections of food and treats, but the service is horrible and the place is extremely dirty. It also seems to be way overpriced. The candy and chips that I had bought from there were expired. You can check it out if you’d like, but after my second time I really realized how gross it is and that I’m never going there again. It’s a good place to walk in, buy whatever you need and get out of there.

Family owned restaurant with great customer service! Food and ice cream is awesome, everything is made in house. Horchata is a must have whenever I go. Highly recommended!

This is the best little secret in SLC! I love riding my bike here on a hot summer day! The popsicles are awesome! They have ice cream ones, and non cream ones. They are all homemade and cheap! I love the pistachio ones! The service is great, the one son is funny and very helpful! I highly recommend!

I’ve been trying to get back since I wrote the last review, but didn’t manage at all in 2014, pitifully. Such is my schedule, but if forcing the issue is what it takes, then forcing the issue is what it takes. There is so much on the menu that I want to try and so many unusual(to me) candies, that I’m trying to do it in waves. Everything I’ve had on the Al Pastor front is utterly fantastic and service has always been top notch. Their house hot sauce, actually somewhat spicy, is delectable as well and this is probably one of Salt Lake’s best kept secrets. This is another well on its way to a 5 star rating, however, it needs to come further with having acceptable drinks before it reaches there… that and getting rid of those awful benches that threaten to deposit your big(if you’re me) self right on the floor. Aside from that, this place keeps getting better and better and now is officially added to my Lunch List. Muy magnifico!

This is my favorite kind of restaurant – a nice little family-run operation serving ethnic food. I had the«Tacos Dorados» which were quite tasty(two with the potato filling, and two with chicken). They served their salsa in a unique manner that I’ve never seen before – they fill half of the cup with a delicious tomato salsa and the other half with an extremely spicy habanero salsa. This allows each individual to choose his/her heat level by changing the amount of the darker habanero salsa to mix with the tomato salsa. I REALLY liked that! Unfortunately, the quality of service did not match that of the food. Napkin containers were on each table, but very few were filled. Salt shakers were nowhere to be seen. Although I was the only person in the restaurant, I had to ask three times before they remembered to serve the chips and salsa. I also had to ask for utensils and napkins, and the table next to mine was left uncleared and unclean. After the young lady who was the waitress served my meal, she disappeared into the kitchen, never to be seen again.

This place was so delicious! I am always on the look out for great new mexican snack joints that know all the great and delicious ways to combine the spicy and sweet. Yummy!

This place has the BEST paletas. Handcrafted with fresh fruits and amazing flavors. These are no Walmart icepops! Just had an elite that was also delicious.

Growing up in El Paso Texas I consider myself a snob when it comes to good Mexican food. This place is an authentic Paletaria/Flauteria and it has amazing food/everything else. Try the tacos Dorados. They will blow your mind! As well everything else. Try everything! They’re insanely cheap too. Happy eating:)

Amazing fresh food. Everything was made there or in the bakery next door. Had a Torta and some tacos. Great homemade tortilla, salsa, and meat.
