I have an IAudio X5 (12 year old MP3 player), that needed a battery replacement. The company that makes it (Cowon) said it would have to be sent back to Korea, would take 3 months. It’s a real pain to replace the battery, tiny little soldered wires, not for the inexperienced, which I am. However, I love this player. It has features that none of the newer ones have. The Tech Guys were able to replace the battery, no problem. They even ordered the battery for me. The unit now works great, long battery life again. The whole thing took about a week, which is fast considering they had to get the battery, and a very fair price.

I went here because of the reviews… little did I factor in the fact that most of the positive were for Iphone screen repairs. Went here for 2 reasons…1. My Macbook took a little water onboard and 2. Of course, an Iphone screen repair for the fiancé. The screen repair seemed like a breeze… they had it fixed in about 2 hours or so, but charged well over 100 bucks for it. Now on THAT note, we feel that they unfortunately exploited our ignorance. When we brought it in, the fiancé told whoever we talked to that we had Apple Care, but wanted to know if fixing the screen with them would be a better deal. We kind of got a run-​around answer and decided to get it fixed there just because we needed to have her phone operating properly for work reasons. What they DIDN’T mention is that if you’re phone is worked on by anyone but Apple, then your Applecare is deemed VOID! Yes, maybe this is something we should have known, however it HAS to be something they are GUARANTEED to know and decided NOT to inform us to make a sale. Unfortunately, her phone accidentally broke about 2 weeks later and we had to learn the hard way about the Applecare situation when we took it to the apple store. Also, after the tech guys repair, the screen looked fine, but had some problems. The screen would not turn off whenever she was on the phone, which caused constant accidental hangups.
Now to my problem… I took in my 1^st generation aluminum Macbook which I had for about 6 or 7 years. Was a great computer, but I finally messed up and some water snuck into it. Asked them to take a look…$ 30 just for a diagnosis. I already didn’t like that, but fair enough. A few days later, they called me and said it was water damage, and said they could try to fix it but no promises… called me a few more days later saying they couldn’t fix it and it would need a new logic board. That would have cost almost 400 bucks. I declined as I couldn’t afford that at the time, so I went and picked it up. They charged me 50 bucks just to say they couldn’t fix it, so we’re at $ 80 now for absolutely nothing. I took it to the Apple store, who basically told me the whole thing is fried, AND whoever worked on it before them had taken out a bunch of screws holding many of the parts in and never put them back. SO, the tech guys charged me 80 bucks to not fix anything and take many of the screws out of my computer and leave loose junk inside the frame.
NOT GOING BACK HERE.

The Tech Guys shop was great! I dropped off my laptop because it had a black screen and the battery was unable to take a charge. One week later (replacement parts had to be ordered), my laptop was repaired and ready for pick up. My laptop worked flawlessly, the work was done in a timely manner, and the prices could not be beat – I shopped around for the parts and labor and Tech Guys had it beat by over 50%. I recommend the Tech Guys for quality service and quality prices.

The Tech Guys are great. I dropped off my phone to get the screen fixed, went to the gym, and came back. They fixed it good as new within an hour (for a decent price too — $ 80). I would return, but hopefully I won’t need to.

I’ve gotten about 4 screen replacements here and all the times have been great. Except one time but they quickly fixed the issue. The service is great, and the screen replacements come out like brand new.

Mario and Lee are legitimate. They are straight up and are definitely not there to gouge you. We had a slight mix up in terminology over cleaning up a laptop (motherboard), but Mario made a tremendous effort to resolve the semantical mix up.
Several months later the same laptop wouldn’t power on.
They tried to resuscitate it and finally they just replaced the charging port. Still… no power.
Lee phoned me with the bad news but quickly assured me that they were not going to charge me! That was very decent of them. It’s horrible when you have to pay for something that you literally have to throw away.
However, the best part is when I initially went in to drop off the laptop, I noticed a used apple desktop for sale. It was such a good deal I bought it on the spot. I just love it. It has saved me from going blind. Mario & Lee … You are the best «tech» guys and all around good guys in town.
I don’t usually write or call about service, but with tech guys I felt compelled to.

The service was GREAT I was on my to Save Mart. I use a power chair I had room to move around I had just bought a new cell last month. this cell the ZTE 850 SUCKS with Virgin with this pair was so bad I was willing to go in debt. They hooked me up with this LG Optima it better than what I had but not up to par with other smart phones
, still looking for a better one that I can afford !

This place exceeded my expectations. The receptionist was nice and the tech guy (haha yup and that’s the name of the place) that helped me was great. Basically before I came into the store I wanted to break my laptop in frustration but after they looked at it and fixed it, it’s been running better than ever. You shouldn’t be disappointed here.

Went in last Wednesday because my computer had some viruses. I was getting popups literally everywhere on the internet and needed my computer back in working shape ASAP so I could do my school work and these guys came through like a champ. They had it for 24 hours and gave me an amazing deal. The total came out to $ 80 to get rid of my viruses, install a free antivirus program, and to top it off they even gave me a quick session with the tech so that I could use the computer without infecting it, which I know I can’t get at any of the other shops around town. They called me every step of the way and made sure that I knew the process from start to finish. Their staff and services couldn’t be better and for that reason I’ll definitely be coming back.

Most of the positive reviews for Tech Guys pertain to their ability to fix cracked smartphone screens. Their ability to fix something actually technical, something that requires «tech guys,» however, could not be any more dismal. By dismal, I mean TERRIBLE, DREADFUL, APPALLING, and HORRIFIC.
As evidence for this, I will provide you with my account. I brought my HP laptop, my computer essentially, to Tech Guys because it was operating slowly. When I got there, I heard a representative say, «80 dollars only and your computer will be like a brand new computer.» When I heard this, I thought – great, sign me up. Sadly, their service was not consistent with their claim.
Like a mechanic shop that always plays on the ignorance of the consumer, Tech Guys claimed that I needed more things and slapped on a $ 40 fee for backing up the computer and $ 80 dollars for a new hard drive. At the end, they told me that the problem all along was that I needed a new hard drive. I ended up paying over $ 200 dollars, nearly the price of a new laptop.
Even with all of that, my computer is not working much better. I feel that all they did was take it to the back, put it in a box, and tickle it a little. Logically, they would have saved me $ 120 dollars by simply installing the hard drive on the computer from the start.
So, if you need computer repair in Salinas, go to either Geeks on Site or AB Computer. They are ranked number 1 and 2 on the online yellow pages whereas Tech Guys is ranked number 32, nearly dead last. Don’t experience what I experienced and don’t be persuaded by their convenient location on South Main. Don’t go to Tech Guys, go to the «other guys.»

Happened to be in Salinas for a softball tournament and between games decided to get phone fixed and this place did a great job. Cheaper than most other places too.

I have been here several times and have always been taken well care of. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I had an issue with a screen I had fixed here and they gladly replaced the screen so that it worked properly. Would recommend coming here for all your tech needs. Happy customer here

Went back there this week with a broken computer. They fixed it. Fast and for cheap! Highly recommend this place for any tech issue.

They fixed my iPhone 5s screen in 45 minutes. I called around and they were cheaper than anyone. I didn’t like the attitude of the guy at you-​break-​i-​fix and so I have these guys a chance. I really like them and recommend them.

I was having problems with my internet at my business and I called tech guys. They were able to fix the issues I had. I was pretty happy with their service and quick response. I would definitely recommend them.
