I called John (he didn’t know me previously) and informed him my new garage door opener was urgent – he showed up the next day to discuss options and, after we decided on the best solution for my situation (John informed me of the benefits of an opener connected to my home network/​WiFi) we agreed on price (totally reasonable!!) and he installed it 3 days later! I am a most satisfied customer — oh, BTW, he made a multitude of adjustments to my 16 year-​old garage door hardware and it now operates quietly and like brand new… Thank you John for our first garage door opener (other than «me») in 32 years!

John M installed my garage door in April 2013. I’m still loving how quiet it is and how well it works.

We are very happy with our new garage door. It was installed in less than one hour by two very professional men that were a pleasure to have in our home. We were given an estimate on a Thursday (which we found to be very reasonable) and the door was ordered and installed on the following Tuesday. The door was not the most expensive one they carried but we are really pleased with what we got-​a very attractive non-​insulated door with the long-​paneled windows across the top. The opener is very nice and operates quietly.
The owner, John M. is very professional and has a gentleman that works with him that is equally as professional and is very knowledgable about the door and the installation of it. They were on time and didn’t waste a minute putting the door up. We were very happy with the service they provided and also the price we paid. I definitely recommend J & J Garage Doors and would use them again if I needed another door!

I had problems with my opener and ended up calling two garage door services. The first one came out and pronounced my GD opener dead and the tilt-​up garage doors as dated and the hardware could fail causing the door to fall on my auto and damage it someday soon. He eventually sent us a bid and has called numerous times to trash the competition and warn us that only the doors he sells will stand up to the elements where we live. While we were waiting for his bid, we called J&J.
John came out and took a look at the opener, adjusted it and had it working again. He said it was still working and could be replaced, but not a priority. He looked at the old doors and said they were OK and, while the old hardware was loose, he had seen much worse. He said he would be happy to bid on anything we wanted, but no service charge. He came back to measure for a bid and wrote that bid on site. We are probably going to have him do the work but no presure — what a great experience! I’ll let you know how it turns out, but for now we have plenty of time.
We ended up buying two Amarr steel doors and a brand new Linear opener. John worked with me right up to the install, because when he came out, I had decided to keep the old opener and relocate it to the other side, which is lowere service. We had to buy two doors so that they would match. We saved a third over the other vendor we had quoted doing business with this helpful, no-​hassle vendor. A real pleasure!

My overhead opener sporadically would not close (would just make a clicking noise). I’m not a huge fan of parking outside as opposed to my garage so I was extremely pleased when I called J&J Garage Doors to come troubleshoot my opener, and he was available within the next 24 hours. He fixed the opener, which was quite old, with no issues and at an extremely reasonable cost. Ultimately, the opener was on the fritz so I did not hesitate to call J&J Garage Doors when it was time to replace it. They were timely in their service and extremely reasonable in pricing. They truly provide exceptional service at a great price! I highly recommend them for anyone who needs garage door servicing.

Excellent! The cable popped off the drum in our garage door in Pacific Grove. It was also severely unbalanced. couldn’t even close it without one side being lopsided. John came out very fast and then fixed everything to better than it was before. He’s a true professional. Works hard, works fast and is very thorough. He was great!

our old heavy garage door never shut firmly, shook the roof, cracked the stucco, and made lots of noise when it worked, and then it stopped working.
you’ve heard the saying: «when one door closes, another door opens» — well, ours would not open.

john and his partner came to our road house like a rider on the storm, and worked hard like they were lit on fire…
in a short time, they replaced our door and mechanical opener, provided new remotes and instructions, and cleaned everything up, all for a relatively reasonable price…
our new door is light, quiet, and constructed well.

Couldn’t have had a more professional experience. My oversize garage door was dangerously hanging by springs, the framework was cracked, and I was afraid to stand under it. I made an appointment via email, John came, evaluated, gave me a quote, special ordered the door on Monday and installed it on Friday. What I thought would take most of the day, took only three hours! He and his assistant are so well orchestrated in their work flow; they do precision work and I recommend this company without reservations. They left the place immaculate and hauled away the old door and harware. They are also a local company which was a plus for me.

I discovered a catastrophic failure in my garage door hardware — the door was literally about to fall off — and J & J came and diagnosed it the same day. The door was old and I wanted to replace it so he ordered a garage door immediately and installed it two days later, perfectly. The door was installed in about two hours, and they moved and reinstalled my garage door opener, cleaned up the worksite and took away the old door and hardware. In addition he is very polite and likeable, a perfect businessman.

John is an entirely above board, straight shooter. He gave us a great price on two new doors and openers. He did the work the day we scheduled and got it done in a day. The doors look great and they are whisper quiet and smooth. The whole project couldn’t have gone smoother.
