Specialties
We specialize in behavior training. Although, dogs are our main clients, we also work with cats, horses, llamas, and other animals.
Puppy training is a primary focus for us. Begin on the right foot and the rest comes easily.
Lectures, pet first aid classes, tracking, fun-gility, basic/intermediate/advanced training, CGC and S.T.A.R classes and tests are all offered. Several times a year we offer a CAM, (canine anger mangement) class.
We also have a swim spa for conditioning, pre and post surgery, as well as just the joy of swimming.
And, of course, Paws at Play is a doggie daycare that is a big hit with our clients and their dogs.
History
Established in 1982.
We are a behavior based training facility. Training should be about your relationship with your pet, and we try to aid you in enhancing that. Our goal is to create a facility we would want to take our pets too. Also, to be a one stop shop for you; we offer daycare, training, pet first aid classes, CGC workshops and test, guest lecturers, small store with toys, treats and raw food. All shelter/rescue dogs receive a discount if enrolled in class within 60 days of adoption. Pets are our only business, this is not a part time business or hobby for us, we attend classes to aid us in our methods. We are always re-examining our facility to provide the best services for you and your pet.

Barbara D.
Business Owner
Barbara has been an animal behavior counselor for over 30 years, learning it was easier to have an animal do something because it wanted to, not because it was afraid not to.
One of the original founders of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, APDT (under the guidance of Dr. Ian Dunbar); a professional member of International Association Canine Professionals and several behavior organizations, a certified animal trainer, a certified Pet First Aid instructor, mentor instructor and a CGC/S.T.A.R evaluator. Also awarded Trainer of the Year at Westminster.
Although, associated with Rottweilers most likely there will be a small dog in her group. We almost always have a shelter dog and even though it may be a small dog they are all trained as if they were one of the Rottweilers.
She is a speaker at Carrington College’s Animal Health department and lectures to veterinary groups, law enforcement agencies, trainers and pet owners; including presentations to IACP, APDT, & rescue groups
