Came in here thinking it was a bakery… their baked goods seem to be made somewhere else. The food that was available in the case looked old and over cooked. We asked to see a menu, and ordered fresh made food, lady seemed a bit upset that we didn’t want the food already made. The food came out quick, it was ok, nothing special. While we were waiting for food, some of the owners friends came by and they ended up serving them first! Will prolly not come back and very disappointing considering we are as well Filipino and hoping to find a local spot for homecooking.

This place has now merged the market from a few doors down. The food is still okay. Best bet for filipino food is still in Marina, ca(locally).

The name of this place is now called something like Nyopil Grill. And yes there was an ownership change about 3 months ago. I stopped in and had their chicken empanada fresh from the oven and very tasty. The filling was of shredded chicken with bits of carrots and peas with some raisins thrown in. It takes about 2 or 3 visits to determine how good/bad a restaurant really is.

I continue coming here a couple times a month with high hopes and I love supporting local. –There is an extensive menu but you cannot order from it :( –A few times I have arrived at about 6pm and there is no rice left? :( –Most items are cold or unavailable after 1pm :( –I understand some things take long to prepare but, easy things should always be available like rice and tosino. –The place is clean and the staff are friendly:)

I discovered this place bcuz I just happen to be driving by. I wish they would more advertising. Anyways, now that I have found it I’m pretty happy. I haven’t tried the savory foods that were in the warming trays yet bcuz I was focused on trying the bakery goods. I bought several different items to take home and try. I must say they are very authentic, freshly baked and very tasty. They have real pandesal not just generic dinner rolls. The ensaymada bread is sweet and tender. The hopia is my favorite so far. Sometimes hopia can be dry and have too much dough. These soft, sweet, little bites are addictive. And last thing I got to try was the siopao, also very good. I look forward to going back and trying more things ie bibinka(I haven’t had it in years) lechon, turon etc… I’m so glad I found this place.

Found out a new place in Salinas that serves Filipino dishes. Had to try it! They have a lot of entrees on the menu, and got to pay attention on what day it is, since some specials are only for certain days. The more popular entrees, I guess are common, like pancit and chicken/pork adobo. The menu will tell you which food are there for that day. Venue is actually nice. It looks a little fancy for a «bakery» if you ask me, but it’s actually good. Got a flat screen on the top right corner with the Filipino channel on. Looks like all the tables are chairs are brand new. The staff is really friendly. Older Filipino ladies at the counter. Feel like going to your Lola’s house for merienda/snacks or dinner. Had my wife and baby with me, so we just had the lunch box, which contain chicken adobo(4 pieces) white rice and pancit. I also ordered a side plate of bbq ribs. I can’t really say anything much with the filipino entrees since I know that each Filipino cook it different, but it was decent. The chicken pieces were pretty small. The bbq ribs were actually pretty good(4 pieces and they were good sizes) They got a soda dispenser outside, but they don’t have free refills, just an FYI. But all the dishes and soda came around about $ 20 which is not bad at all. They have a bakery side as well, but I didn’t really see that much choices unfortunately. More of the pandesal and some ensemada. Not really much baking going on. I would love to see Filipino desserts here, and really some good ol’ fashion Filipino sweets. I would even like to just see banana cues or other things. I haven’t really get to try any of the bakery yet though. Oh yeah, I remember seeing their menu before that they were open daily. Unfortunately, they are closed on Sunday. Open hours are weird as well, so really double check first, make sure they are open. I would come back here, to see if they have added more desserts and bakery. Good place to actually to have a nice lunch and relax.

I have been waiting for this little bakery to open for months now and I found out by one of my coworkers that it was open today, which worked out perfect, since I neglected to bring my lunch to work. Luckily for me this place is within walking distance from my work and I walked there during a break. The bakery has a big menu with tons of my favorite treats from the Philippines. However, the staff pointed to the bakery shelves and indicated that they were only serving what you see in the selves and in the warm display case. The staff were extremely friendly and described the items they had to serve. Today they were serving ground beef menudo, chicken adobo, beef rib adobo, pork tocino, rice pourage(lugaw), panzit, lumpia, and steamed rice. They also had a variety of baked goods. I ordered the pork tocino which came with a fried egg and a ginger side and steamed rice. This is a typical Filipino breakfast and I was not disappointed. I truly enjoyed the flavors in this dish. I also ordered four cheese ensaymadas togo to bring home to my kids. I was pleased that my meal and the pastries were only $ 8.00. The prices were really reasonable. I was a little disappointed with the ensaymadas as this is one of my favorite treats when I visit the Philippines. The ensaymada was good, don’t get me wrong. It was a little more dense and more like a bread than the soft and fluffy ensaymada I have come accustomed to. I will definitely give this little bakery another try and being that they have only been open a short period of time, I am sure it can only get better from here. I wish this business the best of luck and will most likely become a regular customer if the flavors in the food are consistent with the pork tocino I had today.
