History

Established in 1946.

West Salem’s first local «mom and pop» hardware store was established in 1946 on Edgewater Street. It was a Marshall Wells store, then became Home Town Hardware.

Chuck and Marry Farris purchased the store in 1972, and it became West Salem True Value Hardware. Cramped for space, they built a new store in 1980 at the present location on Wallace Road.

In 1995, Chuck and Janette Frank, owners of then Keizer True Value, purchased West Salem True Value from the Farrises. Currently, their son Greg Frank and his wife Jan are running the show.

In 2011 we switched from True Value to Ace Hardware, and the rest is history.
