Pemberton’s Flowers & Gifts

My mother ordered me a floral arrangement, (through 1800 flowers, Pemberton’s Flowers Gifts was the company which fulfilled the order) with birds of paradise for my birthday, knowing of course that I very much enjoy this magnificent plant.
The first aspect was that the flowers were late, they were supposed to be delivered on Wednesday 27 January 2016, my mother was e mailed at 1600 her time, which is 1700 oregon time to let her know they would not be delivered on that day; far too late in the day to be letting someone know this; after making up excuses as well as showing little to no regard in the fact that my grandparents stayed at home all day just to receive the arrangement that they said would be there on the 27, they said they would be delivered the next day, my mother expressed that they would not be staying at home all day again, to which a very light, insulting apology was made.
These are flowers which could «not» be delivered to my personal address, and were to be delivered between «1100 — 1400.» 28 January 2016.
The flowers, the orange lilies on the bottom were bruised and scared on their outer petals. The bird of paradise was deteriorating in health, the bloom was turning brown, drying out, a typical indication of what occurs during the end of the blooms lifespan. The bloom had been severely butchered, not pruned as it should have been but chopped off quickly, hastily cut in places taking away from from the beauty of this plant. The box which the arrangement was mounted in was way too shallow as well. It is top heavy and has potential to tip over easily. The bird of paradise bloom is heavy and in such a shallow base that I had to insert sticks and ties to avoid the bloom from breaking off, or leaning and causing further damage to the bloom and arrangement, something the florist should have known and done on their own.
I expect far more from a professional florist, this unfortunately, is not, something I consider quality work. It resembles significant inexperience of working with this plant, as well as a lack of care in the quality of product. I also expect far more because I know how much blooms from these plants cost at florist shops, especially during the colder months.
I also looked up what the floral arrangement should look like as well as did a comparison to the plant which I received, I kept in mind that replacements are at times necessary to certain arrangements, IF, certain products are not in stock. The product I received I can see the second bird of paradise bloom was likely, too far past its «prime» for the florist to leave on the plant, the health of the one bloom compared to the photo on their website is a complete joke, the photo shows a healthy orange and purple bloom, the typical bird of paradise most think about or see the most. I received a red bloom, the inner petals or «bird» of the flower were dried and shriveled up, further speaking how far gone this bloom actually was. This was compensated for with far more orange lilies than pictured and a alpinia purpurata, «red ginger», which also showed signs of a quick, hasty butcher to the leaves. The leaves of the floral arrangement were also damaged with rips and tears in them, damage that occurred prior to being put into the arrangement, apparent by the brown, shriveled, dried out coloration.
Needless to say I am extraordinarily disappointed in the service my mother paid for as well as the quality and state of the floral arrangement.

The best customer service… EVER. Took the time to make a custom floral arrangement after 4:00 p.m. For my aunt who had major surgery. Thoughtful and kind and wonderful people!!!

I recently received a gorgeous bouquet designed by Pemberton’s. It was exquisite! Thank you for going above and beyond!

I have been buying flowers from Pembertons for over 20 years. I buy for appreciation gifts, birthdays and to wish my ill clients well when they are in need of a pick me up.
The flower arrangements are consistently lovely. The flowers are fresh as evidenced by how long they last once you give them away or get them home.
I have bought at other florests and they are shriveled and gone before the week is out.
Pembertons flowers consistently last two weeks if you resnip the stem ends at one week and ensure fresh water.
I have had silk arrangements made for my office and they are exotic and gorgeous.
I simply will not buy flowers anywere else if I am in Salem, Oregon.
If you buy here, expect to pay a slightly higher price at times, but rest assured, you will get your moneys worth.

Ordered these flowers to be delivered to my sister at work. Not only were they delivered late, the bouquet was sparse and frankly ugly. The two stars is because the customer service was very friendly and helpful. However the end result was nothing close to what we had discussed or expected. Absolutely not worth $ 50. Very disappointed

Called and spoke with the owner. She was SO NICE. She listened and really truly made it more than right. She was very kind, courteous and compensated us in a way that made us feel very good about the experience. We know feel very positive about this business. This a true sign of someone who cares about their customers.

Best florist in town in my opinion. They have the best looking and best priced long stem roses. The customer service is usually wonderful. I’ve only had one slightly negative experience and I think it was due in part to the emotion charge of my situation. I needed flowers for a funeral very specifically a pure colored rose. I called and was assured I could have pure yellow roses for pick up. When I got there they gave me yellow roses with pink edges. I asked if they had plain solid yellow and they said no with a sort of I know better attitude. I ended up plucking the pink petals off at the counter myself.
I would still go back and still think they are best in town. It was just a really bad time for me and I needed pure yellow and was told that’s what I would get.

I regret getting my wedding flowers here. The appointments I had were so unorganized it stressed me out. The lady was nice enough, but just a mess. I had a little file that the lady would write all my flower info in, in such chicken scrabble writing she couldn’t even read it herself. She couldn’t even read my name that she wrote, literally every time she called me on the phone she called me by a different name. So when she finally spit out a price that was waay over what I had calculated, she went over it with me in the file I couldn’t read and they couldn’t seem to meet my request to get me an itemized breakdown of the costs. Talk about sketchy. To give me an even worse taste in my mouth, the flowers were delivered an hour later than we had planned. She claimed it was 2pm, not 1pm. But I wrote everything down as we went, since her disorganization scared me so I’m positive we had agreed on 1. It was fine, it didn’t cause a disaster, but had me freaking out trying to call them on my wedding day when they weren’t there yet. The flowers were pretty. But my bouquet looked nothing like what I had envisioned. I made the mistake of just stopping at the first florist I saw, thinking they must all be the same.

Normally for something like this, I would just use FTD – but I called, based on Unilocal reviews, in an attempt to shop local – even though I’m not local – and I am so impressed with the woman I spoke to on the phone, I have no doubt this will be fantastic. I called early on a Monday morning with a budget and an address – needing same-​day delivery – and Debra (hope I spelled that right) was wonderful. What a sweet lady! She dropped everything to help me and thanked me for the business. Awesome service!

I have ordered from Pemberton’s three times no on behalf of my company, and each time they were courteous, honest, and best of all, fast. Same day delivery, regardless of when I placed the order.
Two of the orders were sympathy and one was joyous. All arrangements received high praises.
I highly recommend shopping locally and NOT calling any of those 1 – 800 florists.

Unilocal helped me find Pemberton’s and I decided to give them a shot and am thrilled I did. I live out of state, so was not sure who to use but I was sending flowers to my mother, who just had surgery. The gentleman was very helpful and ACTUALLY sent the color selection I requested. Plus, same day delivery and I feel that I got more than my moneys worth. My mom sent a pic of the flowers she received, not only were they stunning but she says this is THE BEST FLORIST in town. Phew!

For me it was a miss.

This florist is very helpful. I have no clue what this other guy «Kevin L.» is talking about. I talked to several of the ladies there when I ordered Mother’s Day arrangements for my Mom and Fiancé… They were super nice and helpful. This guy probably forgot and expected them to fix his problems. Pembertons is a florist not a family counseling center. Try smiling more Kevin. Life is much better on this side.

Shows good character when you’ve made a mistake, acknowledge it, apologize, and make it right. I had ordered an arrangement for my mom for Mother’s Day. I had specific instructions about what I wanted. On top of that, I asked to add a matching ribbon, which they added at no charge. I also asked they email me pictures of the bouquet so I could see it before they deliver. I don’t think they typically do that, so it was very nice of them to agree to do so. I live out of state so last year I never saw the bouquet I had ordered for my mom. This year I wanted to see for myself. When the pics came, I saw it was all wrong. I had asked for yellow, they gave me red. I emailed them immediately and got a response within minutes. They realized their mistake and took care of it right away. Points for having a website so that you can see their arrangements online before you order. The website comes in handy for people who live out of state like myself.
