Just here for the churros since we can’t figure out where to get churros while we’re here in Salem. The service was pretty slow, but when they got to us they took our order pretty fast so it’s fine. that’s all.

I actually like the food here. But I went once & I got a bacon Swiss buttery jack & used the $ 1 off coupon. When I got my meal I opened it & it was the classic so I went to tell them it was the wrong one. When I went the woman told me the coupon wasn’t for the bacon Swiss but it clearly said it was for both. I had to pay a dollar just to get it since the coupon supposedly didn’t work, I didn’t even want to argue since I was frustrated so I just paid it & left. Never going to this location again

As Jack always tells us, «We don’t make it until you order it». LOL :) Everyone I know gets a big laughs out of that but anyways. Jack in the Box, Comes out with this Black Pepper Cheese Burger as their newest limited-time burger. Wow, I sure want to be the first to review this one before it’s gone forever. Sure seems like they always come out with a new burger every other month almost like Taco Bell with burritos and tacos. Haha :) They tell us the new burger features Peppercorn Mayo, two slices of Black Pepper Cheese, Onion Rings, Hickory-Smoked Bacon, and a Beef Patty on their signature bun. Oh WOW(the same one as they use for the Buttery Jack Sandwich). Almost seems like I’m at Burger King or maybe even Subway how some of the ingredients layout. You will expect the Black Pepper Cheeseburger to cost around about $ 4.50. It’s available for a limited time at participating Jack in the Box restaurants through the end of July. The burger is specifically not available in San Diego and Houston. Not sure what the deal is with that as it is stated on their website. I did get there coupon for $ 1 off and yes it seems to be worth about $ 3.50. Can’t really see my self paying any more for that but the sandwich actually tastes pretty good. And throwing in some dollar menu items you can’t go wrong at this Jack in the Box restaurant. Yeah, I guess the service ain’t so great here as most people say but I get over it real fast for all the good deals you get here. Really, Is there any other fast food restaurant in town where you can get a 44 ounce soda drink for a dollar and also where on earth do you get a breakfast sandwich for 1 dollar any time of the day or night. I am always in for the Breakfast Jack and the 44oz soda. This is another one of those places where if you’re on a budget, I definitely would come here to save a quick few dollars. *****

I’m pretty patient when it comes to fast food(I worked a drive-thru myself for 2 years) but will never eat here again. We came through at about 11AM on a Sunday, a very slow time, and had an unbelievably ridiculous experience. First off, the woman working the drive-thru was incompetent. When I say incompetent, I mean off-the-charts — I have never experienced anything like this! This was the start of our ordering process: Me: «Hi! How many pancakes comes in an order of mini pancakes?» Drive-Thru: One dollar.“ Me: «Yes, but how many do we get for one dollar?» DT: «You want an order of mini pancakes, or no?» (She spoke perfect English, language was not the issue here.) Me: «I just want to know how many an order comes with.» DT: «Eight.» Me: «Okay, thanks, we’d like two orders, then.» DT: «‘Kay, an order of mini pancakes, that’ll be one dollar at the window,» Me: «We’d like two.» DT: «It comes with eight.» Me: «TWOORDERSOFEIGHTPANCAKESEACH, PLEASE. And we’re not finished ordering.» And that was just the beginning! When we got to the window, we were handed a small drink. I politely handed it back and explained that both of our combo meals were supposed to be large. The woman, without blinking, snatched the drink and receipt from me and said, «That’ll be 78 cents.» Ah, my bad. I didn’t realize I was supposed to pay the difference on someone else’s mistake! I handed over my debit card and paid the extra 78 cents, just wanting to get out of there by that point. The lady made a show of dumping out the small drink and handing me a large one. She gave us our food, we checked that everything was accounted for, and we left. Not two seconds out of the drive-thru, my husband realized his new, larger drink contained a COMPLETELY different kind of soda. It’s as if the employee couldn’t be bothered to check what kind of drink it was originally supposed to be, she just filled a large cup and handed it to us.(There were no other customers. She could not have confused us with anyone else.) By that point, I was just flat-out irritated; I marched into the lobby and switched out the drink myself. I came back to the car to find my husband KNOCKING on his sandwich. Yes, the bun on his hamburger was actually so hard, you could hear his knuckles cracking against it! I bit into my own sandwich(a breakfast sandwich) and discovered it was a smashed, slimy mess. Okay, fine. Time to call it a lost cause. I packed up all the food(except the pancakes, which were A-OK, presumably because it’s hard to mess up a microwave) and took it inside. I explained to the manager that it was inedible, and opened the hamburger and cracked my fingernails against the rock-hard bun as proof. When questioned about the other sandwich, I explained that it was a slimy, unpleasant mess, and that I’d had the same meal before many times, when it was neither slimy nor unpleasant. The woman actually had the gall to say to me — «I made the sandwich, and I made it fine.» Note that at no point did the manager offer to make us new food, or to make it up to us in any way. I would have accepted a sincere apology and new food. Instead, she stubbornly said, «I’ll just refund the sandwiches, then.» I argued that I had brought back the fries and hashbrowns as well, and the sides were now cold and would not be eaten.(Not to mention, if I’m not getting the core part of my meal, am I really expected to pay for it?) The manager(or shift lead, whichever she was) ended up making a very pointed show of refunding only the sandwiches and sides(not the drinks — okay, lady, you got us! We really went through all of this just to get free $ 1 sodas!) then handed me my card and said«It’ll take 3 days to process», followed by an insincere«Sorry ’bout that.» It was a mind-blowingly bad experience. There is zero excuse for screwing things up when there’s only one customer present, and to not even offer to make things right is unacceptable. We went a couple blocks down to Sonic on River Road and had fantastic food and friendly service.
