I left a one-star review previously and heard that they were under new management and decided to try again. I ordered a cheeseburger meal and DQ Sandwich and my friend ordered a ¼lb cheeseburger meal and a hot fudge sundae. People at the counter were friendly and helpful – food took a while to arrive, but not as long as in past visits. My cheeseburger was over-microwaved to where the bread and cheese were gummy in texture. The fry oil, I’m guessing, had not been changed in a while and the fries were covered in black bits. It looked like someone had put black pepper all over them and they smelled like old, burnt oil. DQ Sandwich and sundae tasted fine. Neither my friend nor I could finish our food.

The only reason this place even gets one star is simply because after u wait an extraordinarily long amount of time you will finally get delicious DQ ice cream. Although this last time my blizzard was melted as I imagine it sat for a while since we waited 10 mins from ordering to getting it. Every single time I’ve come here the wait is no short of 5 mins to get to the ordering board and another 5 – 10 mins to get your simple ice cream order. This poor service is very consistent. I hope the franchise owners know how poor the drive through service is.

this place doesnt deserve one star! they manage to not care at all, the 1⁄8 of a medium blizzard that is partially mixed isn’t fully mixed in, and the other 7⁄8 is just vanilla what’s the point??? its absolutely despicable to consider this branch a dq! pathetic!

I really want to give this location a good review, but in comparison the the other Salem/Keizer locations I cannot. Prepare to wait for your order. The staff seems short handed and not very well trained in the customer service department. I have given this location a few opportunities both inside and through the drive thru before writing this review. My most recent trip did happen to be in the drive thru, and it took 20 minutes on a Sunday evening. I ordered two meals and my double cheeseburger meal did not include its second patty nor did I receive the large fry I ordered. For the price and subpar service, it is really not worth it. You’re better off heading to the Mission Street location if you really need a DQ fix.

I’ve gone here several times sometimes it is slow. I’ve had people who work inside come out and give me my order when they were backed up with someone else’s order. I like the ice cream

My handicapped mother and I just left this dairy Queen with our money back for a 6 piece chicken basket we never got after waiting for it for 35 minutes. After the first 25 minutes I went up to the counter to ask about our meal, the gal that rang us up apologized to me and checked on our order, no problems. After another 10 minutes I checked in again and ended up with the«supervisor«who told me that she had called out our order, and since we didn’t respond she put it back in the kitchen? Horrible service. Smart attitude, not sorry, didn’t care, then ended refund with a sarcastic«have a nice day and do you want your receipt«. Please hire an adult who has manners. I heard called from the order area«I want subway» and another teen guy explaining how awful the dilly bars were kept«back in the day«loud laughing and joking going on all around. Won’t go there again. On the bright side, we went to the dq on 25th St And had our order within 1 minute of paying and they brought it out to our table, thank you and great job– we love the chicken basket with gravy:)

If you enjoy long waits for melted ice cream and attitudes, there might not be a better location in Salem! My SO and I went to DQ for a couple blizzards. We left our house to this location at 8:00pm, they were so packed that we were practically parked on the sidewalk to be in line. The line moved 2 cars in 20 minutes, so we bailed with the intentions of coming back later. Well, they don’t post their hours online(it was 10pm for this particular evening), so we didn’t know when they’d be shutting down. We got there at 9:45, once again the line was unmoving, We ended up being the last customer and didn’t get our blizzards until 10:20pm. When they were delivered one blizzard was damn near a soup and the other wasn’t even 2/3rds full! I told the lady this, she HALF turned the full melted blizzard(not wanting to turn it upside down as promised for a very obvious reason) and then handed both back to me. I told her I didn’t want this one that was barely filled and she grunted, snatched the ice cream back, and went in barking orders and clearly frustrated. I know they want to get off work, but we tried to come earlier with no avail, and when you’re spending damn near 5dollars for an ice cream, it should be higher quality than softserve from a buffet. The only redeeming quality about the experience was a very nice manager who told us not to apologize, and refunded the cost and let us keep the two crappy blizzards(I think they decided refunding was easier than making new ice cream). Lessons learned: — They close at 10pm — Poor customer experience is to be had — Bring a book

The absolute best Dairy Queen in Salem! Under the new ownership so much has improved and I’ve NEVER had a bad experience. My Blizzards are ALWAYS well mixed and they even add in extra mix-ins which is always a bonus. I also love that they have creative ads on the board outside letting me know what specials they have going. There’s never a long wait. Even through the drive-thru they’ve become so efficient and create two lines to help speed up the process and get everyone out in a timely manner. The place is always very well kept, the staff is as friendly as can be, and I would highly recommend the DQ to all of my friends and family.

The only time I go to Dairy Queen is to get their $ 5 meal bundle I love that they have available but I do not always like eating in because it seems like every time I am in there they have some weirdos eating in. The employees are nice and I have never experienced a problem with them, and the food is done very nicely.

Came in behind an entire baseball team. They worked quickly to get our orders taken and out to us as fast as possible. I thought they worked quite quickly and efficiently considering how many people came in at once. My problem was my Bacon Cheeseburger, the cheese wasn’t melted at all and the bacon was a bit rarer than I care for. But the patty and the fries were hot so it wasn’t worth complaining about.

There’s some unnecessarily harsh people writing reviews in Salem! My wife and I came here for lunch, got two burgers, two orders of fries and two drinks for five bucks each. Also included two sundaes — but because we had to wait a bit for the food, they gave us two small Blizzards instead of the sundaes for free. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the Blizzards were great! Fries were piping hot. My burger tasted a little on the older side but I’ve worked in restaurants and hey, it happens.

It’s looking pretty clean, which is nice. However, make sure you have a large block of time available because they never seem to have sufficient staff to provide even a basic level of service.
