Description

Specialties

I am a fishing guide with 21 years’ experience on Lake Belton and Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir here in Central Texas. I focus on the predominant species in these lakes — white bass and, on Belton, hybrid striped bass. I fish year ’round and with both adults and children of all experience levels, including those with no experience at all. I am a particularly good teacher, so novices and children tend to really do well when fishing with me. In the interest of conservation, I have maintained a 100% catch-and-release policy since my business opened. If you are considering fishing with a Central Texas fishing guide, please visit my website and give me a call.

Meet the Business Owner

Bob M.

Business Owner

My name is Bob Maindelle. I was born into a fishing family in 1969 while my dad was serving in Vietnam. My earliest childhood memories revolve around angling. Pop Pop Hamilton was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi, mom and dad went fishing on cheap dates as newlyweds, and Uncle Glenn ran a saltwater charter boat out of Shark River, NJ. I’m now happily married, live in Salado, Texas, at the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country, and am carrying on the family tradition. I have fished all over our nation in fresh waters and salt, and with all manner of gear and tackle. In 1991, I graduated from West Point (U.S. Military Academy) with a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, and spent 8 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, followed by 9 years in industry. I now serve as the Growth Groups Pastor at my church in central Texas. My prior business experience and my current flexible schedule now allow me to operate «Holding the Line Guide Service» year ’round.
