Quality Inn & Suites at Tropicana Field

When I read the reviews I was hesitant about bringing my family. We needed to stay one night close to Downtown St Pete but didn’t need anything fancy and I was VERY HAPPY! We pulled in, the staff was friendly and the room was very clean and appears to have been remodeled within the last couple years :) the pool was clean and open until 10 which was nice! Also a great hot breakfast with eggs, sausage and waffles along with tons of other options! If your looking for a reasonable clean place to stay 10 minutes from downtown or the Trop this is perfect!

For $ 166 a night you expect a few things. You expect a clean room without bugs or ants, you expect the doors on the outside of the room to work, you also expect the French doors inside the room to work, you expect your bed to not feel like you are sleeping on an old piece of plywood, you expect whatever had been left in the sink from the previous tenant to be cleaned up. I guess my expectations were too high. Had we not arrived at midnight we would have went to another location. When we left we had to walk through vomit on the way to the free breakfast, needless to say we skipped breakfast. The air conditioning unit was loud and rickety and sounded as if squirrels were living in it. There were exposed wires, plugs and lights that did not work. This was our last stay at any Quality Inn.

Older hotel. All rooms open to courtyard with pool. Glass front old fashioned hotel rooms. It has flat screen tv’s with what looks like low def cable. Room musty smelling. Toilet in my room runs constantly. What waste of water! It’s a bit rundown. Neighborhood is pretty sketchy. I don’t feel 100% safe here to be honest. Probably better by day but it’s night when I arrived.
If this is where you need to be and you keep your expectations low you won’t be disappointed.

FILTH. Found used sex toy under bed. Yup, you read that right. Am avoiding ALL Quality Inn & Suites in the future.

Where to start… we didn’t make it to the hotel until 6am and got charged a full night. Asked for non smoking the room smelt horrible and couldn’t be moved. Go to check out and the manager asks why we are leaving early and we weren’t and goes oh never mind u get charged for Friday night even though the room was only for 4 hours. After check out we get a notification from the back that the hotel charged us 4 times. Go back to the hotel manager assured us it will fall off the account and only be the one charge and now a couple days later there is a other $ 400 charge from them for god knows what! Never would I recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be ripped off

I’m here on this Memorial Day weekend and this place is a zoo. Kids running everywhere and noise beyond belief. The front desk is doing nothing about it and its a total take over from a family reunion. The parents are not doing a thing to keep the kids in control and its not the first time I have experienced this here. Stay away. Far away!

This fit our family perfect. We were looking for someplace that was close to everything in the Clearwater area and this worked out great. We had a double queen room on the 1^st floor almost center of the pool. With 2 kids this worked out very well. Rooms were fine, beds very comfortable, a/​c worked great and shower pressure was good. Was nice having the fridge but the microwaves could be a little better they don’t work good for popping popcorn had to use the one in the breakfast area so it would fully pop (have to run through the popping cycle twice though for it to fully pop). Breakfast was great only thing i’d recommend is bigger bowls for the cereal otherwise very good variety. The housekeeping staff was very very friendly always smiling and saying hi. Gloria was very nice she always greeted us and talked to us a few times. Manager was nice he helped me add an extra night to our reservation when I couldn’t do it online so I appreciated that. Loved laying by the pool and when it stormed at night we would sit outside our room and watch the rain/​storms go by. Loved it and would gladly stay here again. Thanks for the memorable vacation!

We needed a hotel close to our daughter’s home and this one was the closest. Twice we didn’t get our wake-​up call. Their free breakfast isn’t worth going downstairs for. The beds were comfortable and our room clean — although some of the towels that were left weren’t, so the place served it’s purpose, mostly. The manager, without being asked, offered a free night to us because of the problem with wake up calls. He did, however, tell us that the clerk typed in the right time — 6:30AM, but because of the change in time, we got a call at 7:30AM. That didn’t cut it for me since they would have gotten dozens of complaints by now since the time changed happened weeks ago and they would have had many complaints and plenty of time to fix that problem.

Incredible dirty. Mold in shower. Terrible water pressure. Had to exchange alarm clock 3 times (to no avail). Had to wash filthy moldy clogged air conditioner filters in shower. Had to wash air conditioner vents as they too were filthy and logged with black mold. Rug had dried food in various spots and bed had women’s hair on sheets. Bedspread filthy with dried food and stains on it. Management tried to assist but cleaning people forgot later in he week to clean room.

Over the summer I booked here twice with my girlfriend as a means to get away from the trash and drama that resided within our home. Now, I’m not a «motel, inn, suspicious place-​to-​stay» kind of girl because I watch too many horror films and it makes me anxious. However, I was very pleased with the outcome of both visits.
When arriving at night, the parking lot are lit enough so that you can a) see where you’re going, and b) not worry about murder. Keep in mind, however, that the inn borders US19 and the busier end of St. Petersburg so loud noises will be inevitable. If you need cash there’s an Amscot on one side of Comfort Inn, and if you want food there’s Yaya’s on that same side, and Hungry Howies on the other side of the inn (same side of the street, not across mind you. Sorry if that confuses people.)
Services were generous and courteous. We had no problems interacting with the hotel clerks (the woman even gave my girlfriend and I a secluded room on our second trip giggity) and there were no problems with cooperation.
As for the rooms, I was afraid I would walk into a stinky area with suspicious stains on the walls and sticky carpets. Nope! The carpeting felt nice to my feet, the bed smelled fine, and the bathrooms were cleaned and shiny! Because it’s Florida, when the AC isn’t on prepare to walk into a nasty, humid room. My girlfriend and I learned that the hard way, hah. Other side complimentary items were coffee, tea, basic bathroom necessities.
In morning until 9:30am there’s free breakfast in the lobby. There’s always a wide variety of food to choose from such as cereal, waffles, eggs & sausage, fruit, and yogurt. I was very pleased with the breakfast.
Overall, I have no complaints. I can’t review the pool or jacuzzi because we didn’t use them. Otherwise, great for kids, great for couples. Oh, and payments wise I used Priceline.
