I Want A Walk

We have two very energetic former animal shelter dogs that needed to be let out and walked every week day around lunch time. Dan did an excellent job doing this, always left a note reporting on the walk and the dogs and was extremely accessible on his cell phone. Our work schedules and therefore service needs changed quite a bit month to month and he was very flexible with us without any complaint. Additionally, we could even let him know that morning via text message if plans had changed that we didn’t need him that day, and he would cancel the day’s walk without charge.
We were very happy with Dan’s services and would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a little help taking care of their dogs during the workday. We used his service for a full year until we moved out of state.

Great service! We have never left our dogs before with anyone except family but we knew they would do best at home when we wanted to spend the weekend out at the beach. Dan took care of our 2 dogs for the weekend. We felt comfortable after our meeting and our fur kids responded well to him. When we came home Sunday they were content and happy. We could tell they appreciated the schedule we had agreed on. Now we feel we can have a little more freedom to do things away from home without worrying about them. I definitely recommend Dan and I Want A Walk.

Dan walked my two dogs for nearly two years and they loved him! Even my one who is especially nervous around strangers ran up to him IMMEDIATELY as soon as Dan walked in the door the first time.
Dan was reliable, ethical and clearly loves dogs, while being firm and ensuring positive walking behavior. I felt so comfortable with his services that I recommended him to others, including a friend with two challenging dogs who were also taken by Dan immediately. He is sort of like the dog whisperer of St. Pete.
Other things to know:
* I Want A Walk is fully insured and required a significant amount of paperwork, which made me feel good about his reliability and thoroughness.
* The rates are incredibly reasonable, even for two dogs.
* Dan was able to help out a few times at the last minute when I was in a bind, proving to be flexible when needed.
* He was very communicative on the rare occasions he was out of town, and always had a back-​up to support his work.
One of the most difficult parts of our move was leaving Dan and I even tried to get him to come to New York with us. :)
