Hungry Howie’s is a consistent cheap pizza choice– it’s large one topping pizza with flavored crust specials are hard to beat… but that being said I would normally prefer to buy my pizza from a local pizza joint, or one of the high end smaller pizza chains. Pizza is practically G-d’s perfect food– it is bread, cheese, tomatoes and whatever other toppings make you happy. Are you with picky people? Divide the pizza up so they get what they want– and you get what you want. Everyone wins. I haven’t found a good local pizza place that I like in the Gulfport area. I have tried some out, but keep coming back to the chains. My pizza of choice at Hungry Howie’s is a large pizza with cajun crust and diced tomatoes as my one topping. I have been ordering this same pizza from Hungry Howie’s across Florida since the 90’s. It is a good pizza. The cajun crust really makes it. This particular Hungry Howie’s is inconsistent. I have received a few pizzas from this location that are slightly under cooked. They are still tasty– but too doughy and not as good as they should be. I also get annoyed that overtime you call there is a recording that goes through the specials that you have to listen to before it rings through– this recording is too long, taking over one minute to let you know what the specials are– the problem being Hungry Howie’s has had a variation of the same specials since the 90’s. There is very little that changes from year to year, except slight price increases that may be tied to inflation. I do like that the store knows my order– I was out of town for 6 months, but when I called to oder a pizza, they inputed my phone number and my last order came up and they were able to reference it to make my pizza. This is a nice touch and also helps ensure that they do not mess up my order. It isn’t great– but it is okay. If you are look for cheap pizza that taste decent, then you could do a lot worse than Hungry Howie’s on Central.

Second time ordering a deep dish pizza and the dough was not cooked. I called the store and a lady answered who was not very friendly and tried to just give me store credit. I told her I wanted a refund and she said, «okay we will send the driver back but I don’t have a time frame because we are super busy and we will need the pizza back.» I obviously don’t want raw pizza and I don’t have time for dealing with rude people. Will not be going back.

Hungry howies is always my first choice for quick, hot and real flavor food. You can easily feed 4 people for the game for 20 bucks with their 2 for $ 12.99 deal. They have had the same deal for years and years with no price increase. A perfect pepperoni hand tossed garlic crust pizza and the combination meat sub(a medium pizza folded in half!!!) brownies and your set for the night. I don’t really talk to them on the phone anymore I just order online and the drivers are always nice and respectful. My first pick over a ton of other choices.

I have lived in this area for years and generally have my pizza delivered. Normally, if I go to pick it up, it is ready and I breeze in and out quickly. This particular time I had to wait several minutes and got a change to really look around at this store. The walls and floors in the«front of the house» we’re so filthy. I will wager that that place has not been scrubbed down and hosed off in months. If the front looks this disgusting, I can only imagine what the back of the house looks like. I really do like the pizza, so please Howie, clean that disgusting store!

I ordered a large two topping pizza online received an email stating it would be approximately 45 minutes order was placed at 1239 per my email. I call in after 50 minutes and was told that online orders take approximately 45 min to an hour. After 1 hour and twenty minutes i call again and was presented with an annoyed voice and extremely rude employee who couldn’t care less if i cancelled and went somewhere else he just, very rudely, spoke over me saying«ok bye bye» over and over again until I hung up. Poorly managed location filled with rude and dimwitted employees. Stay away from location as this is the third and final time i will use this establishment and i will make sure that everyone I know does as well, you’ve lost more than several customers. In the words of your employee, «ok, bye bye»

The closest to my house and the best this far, I wish I could eat here often, but I am on a restricted calorie diet and I can only fit so much into my day. I love the 5.95 carry-out pizza special, I don’t think you can beat it, considering that I would have to go uptown to do that. The place is always immaculate when I come in and the staff is always courteous and friendly and get down to business with little to no wait. The cheese that they use never seems to get me down, seeing as I am lactose intolerant. This location has an eat-in area that’s also alway super clean. I will be back soon because the location is just awesome.

Don’t hate on Howie’s! Flavored crust is teh roXXor! This place isn’t fancypants pizza served in a 4-star atmosphere… it’s a place to go pick up a pie, or have one delivered. It’s perfectly serviceable pizza. The calzones are my personal favorite. I love the mental imagery of the teen pizza ‘cooks’ eagerly painting a chemical bath onto the pizzas to enhance the flavor. Face it, you aren’t eating here for the health benefits — you want munchies. HH fills that need then ups the ante by offering flavors only attainable through modern science. PROTIP: If you want a calzone, but don’t want to pay the 6.99 — you can get one for 5 bucks by simply buying a 5 buck«quik pik» pizza and folding it in half(just ask them NOT to slice it when you call in the order).

I order from this location about once or twice per week. Today I ordered online and then called the store to politely ask for extra cinnamon sugar on the bread. The manager CJ rudely told me that I ordered $ 1.99 worth of cinnamon bread and I would get $ 1.99 worth of cinnamon and hung up on me! I called back to complain about being hung up on and CJ informed me this location is a franchise and he doesn’t care what I think or say! This is not the first time i’ve had rude customer service from this location, but it will be the last time! Beware of this store!
