Hands down best breakfast spot in St Pete! I’ve been coming here for four year’s now and absolutely love it. The smoked sausage with the potatoes, over easy eggs and toast are always the go to for me. Also the hash is delicious. You cant go wrong with anything from here its all fucken good. But my favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere. The family is always so awesome and sweet. The outside seating is always great for when we bring our dog. They always bring him out some Bacon and potatoes. So take my advice and come here! Sit at the bar top and take in that old school diner feel and enjoy your awesome food and company. You’re welcome.

I don’t usually give one star reviews, but then again i have never gotten sick from resturant food. The service was great but the place seemed a little unkept. At first, I didn’t really feel comfortable eatting there but, my boyfriend(the beast) convinced me it would be alright and that I was being snooty. The coffee was watered down; which is somewhat normal for diner like places. I had the non-cholestrole omelet and«the beast» had steak and eggs. I warned him not to eat the steak but he said«three eggs doesn’t have enough protien for me». «Fine, you’ll get what’s coming» is what I smartly commented to him. So about an hour after we left Mr. BEAST had the runs and I thought it was the steak and told ya so. Well, the joke was on me because about 3 hours later I had the runs and vomiting. Mr. Beast never threw up but kept having the runs. I know it was the food from this resturant because that was the only thing we ate the whole day. I will not be returning and may call the health department just for the communities sake. Usually I like to comment on the serving sizes, but in this case I really don’t think that’s relevant … health and safety first. But if you must know, the portion sizes were average.

Me and my mother went here last week for breakfast. We both ordered omelettes. Mine was the Greek, her was sausage and cheese. When we got our omelettes, the eggs were not fully cooked and somewhat soft. I also had to use the restroom which felt like a huge mistake. I felt like I was using the restroom of a gas station and the back area to get to it smelled like dead rat. Also, when I got home shortly after eating there I had the worse case if the shits and have had terrible stomach pain and the shits for almost a whole week now. Needles to say will never ever go back there ever again, unless I want to crap uncontrollably again. Plus I wish there was a way to give negative stars.

This place will make you want to slap the taste out of someone’s mouth! Okkrrrr? Check it at the door, hunty, because their cappuccinos & lattes are crazy good; it’s bananas! Get jalapeños in the breakfast burrito. You’re welcome, girlfriend. WERK!

Small place with decent food. Rude servers. Lost my business last trip in. Could have been a bad day but seems to happen too much there.

Great breakfast stop in downtown. Sit at the bar for comic relief from the staff talking about their daily lives. Not too many places can screw up diner quality breakfast. If your looking for a small town diner atmosphere, this is the place.

This place is a St Pete Gem! my girlfriend and I love to come in here for breakfast. Central Coffee shop is an excellent no frills breakfast counter. It very much reminds me of the Dinner from Seinfeld

Typical diner with some large portions and yummy breakfast. The corned beef hash is the best here! If you are looking for a good little hole in the wall diner with excellent service and a friendly staff, this is the spot for you!

Bad Attitude/Good Food Have been going here for double digit years. I like the food. However the employees attitudes are getting worse as time goes on. Today I was thrown out after I inquired where my breakfast was. Two tables that came in after & ordered after me both got their breakfast before I got mine. I was told to get out, they don’t need my money & not come back. Needless to say I got no breakfast. No one to complain to as they are all family. Looks like I’m going to check out a new breakfast place. I’m giving this 1 star cause there’s no option for 0.

Ordered breakfast for delivery and they didn’t even ask the name of the person that the order was for, they didn’t ask how we were paying and were very rushed and rude over the phone. Someone else in our work building had ordered food so they said«we’ll deliver it with the rest». When the delivery person comes in of course he gives the name of the other person that ordered and is expecting cash payment. When we told him we wanted to pay with card and that we tried to tell them that over the phone he gave us attitude. We asked if he had a mobile card swiper to which he got aggravated and said that he’s never even heard of that before. Such terrible customer service.

Unbelievably disgusting. The dishwasher washes dirty dishes and doesnt wash his hands and serves food on top of palming the silverware he gives you when you sit down at the counter. This cant be good.

WOW. DONOTCOMEHEREIFYOU’RENOTFROMTHISTOWN Stunned by the way the employees talk to customers. First time and last time going in. My friend asked for no meat and she found bacon in her potatoes, when she asked to get a new plate they told her to simply pick them off! Disgusting interior makes it look unsanitary on all levels! We didn’t even finish and we left.

This was our favorite breakfast place. But this morning we left very disappointed. It is New Year’s Eve, and maybe they were short staffed. But that doesn’t give them a right to yell and be rude to 3 different customers while we were sitting there. The staff does quite a bit of yelling at each other, which up to a certain point can be expected at a kitchen where the cooking area is up front and exposed. However, the yelling today did escalate to beyond the daily aggravations, and it was very inappropriate and uncomfortable to watch. Even for a greasy spoon diner. We are both from NYC, and can handle attitude going around, but this was way beyond that. Toxic. What pushed it beyond the top was my husband and I both ordered eggs with potatoes well done. We waited half an hour for our orders to be ready. Mine came out fine, but his were a pile of mashed potatoes. When he asked to cook them longer, the lady manager rolled her eyes at him. When the plate came back to him 10 min later, the potatoes were ok but the eggs were cold. Needless to say, Central Coffee went from being a place we looked forward to starting our day at, to a place where we couldn’t wait to escape from. Too bad.

They should rename this place the Hustle Café because they are fast and furious when it comes to the breakfast rush! This is a great little greasy spoon that is centrally located, hence the name Central Coffee Shoppe, but I think the name is misleading. Yes, they serve coffee, but they are a cool little diner that serves your normal breakfast fare. We took some seats at the bar and watched the employees hustle getting plates moved out from the cook and from the tables to the washer. Yeah, I didn’t enjoy seeing dirty plates being washed in front of me, but the guy did a great job cleaning them so I felt safe! You can’t hide anything in this place because the kitchen is right there along the bar stools. The staff is fast, friendly, but no-nonsense. I ordered the bacon and cheddar omelette which comes with grits and toast. You can swap grits out for homefries and the toast out for an English muffin. It was delicious and hit the spot after a long night of drinking. Very nice joint!

Was looking for a local breakfast joint near my hotel in downtown St Pete. Found this spot on Unilocal and good thing that they open very early at 6:30am even on a Sunday. Plenty of street parking. Liked the nostalgic diner feel to it. Its not a big place but enough seating inside and also have 3 or 4 tables outside. Staff was very friendly… knew all the locals by name. I ordered French toast w/sunny side eggs & sausage patties. Not sure about the quality but my meal was served w/no frills, cooked the way it should be. For less than 10 bucks, this place satisfied my breakfast craving. Again, I’m a big fan of cook to order eggs so this is better than going to BK or MD& eat microwaved egg sandwiches.

I’ve wanted to try this place for sometime and finally on Sat had the chance with my bro and daughter for breakfast. It is your standard diner/greasy spoon. Open for breakfast and lunch, I think it closes at like 1pm. They serve a full bkfst and lunch menu at all times which is nice as my kid likes french fries with her bkfst instead of homefries. The menu has like 20 omelet offerings and all the standard breakfast stuff, including like 5 sammie options. I really liked the homefries as they are thick cut potatoes and griddled up on the flat top. They also know how to cook an egg, which one would think is an easy task however I rarely get a good over medium hard egg that is truly what I want. It is great for people watching and it seems they have a loyal following and know most of the customers personally. The staff is a cast of characters as well. .. very friendly and food is served up quick. It is decked out in Marilyn Monroe on every wall and they“blare” the music. We enjoyed our eggs to some Ozzy. .. fine by me. I think we were near the main speaker so it was a tad louder than other spots, however this is a small place so with all the chatter it is overall a loud place. I’m excited to go back and try other items. Enjoy!
