Pretentious hipster feminist bartenders and beer that isn’t that good. It smells and had all of the hot outside air blowing in. I’ve read good reviews so I am wondering what was wrong with this past Saturday night. There are many other breweries in the area that are way better so pass this one by.

Great flavor, lots of choices. I hate to say it but their strawberry wheat beats Abita strawberry! And peanut butter chocolate stout need I say more. Great staff to boot!

Cage Brewing Company is located in downtown St Pete right across from Pinellas Ale Works off 1st Ave and close to the Rays Stadium for an ideal pregame drinking spot. I must say Cage Brewing has the coolest mascot /logo with it’s drinking octopus! Forget double fisting, this octopus is quadruple fisting brews! Cage brewing’s beloved octopus is all over the bar area. The beers on tap change daily and are sausages on a big flat-screen along with the ABV alcohol by volume percentage and the IBU which tells you how bitter each beer is. This is really helpful because I’m not a fan of bitter beers. With the ibu scores I managed to pick out the perfect flight with not a bitter beer in the bunch! My flight of brews included the Summer Wheatley which is a Florida Wheat Ale, the Mosaic Mango which was a Florida pale ale with hints of Mango, the Galaxy Cat which was an American Pale Ale, and the Neon Sky which was a golden lager. Aside from the awesome brews on tap, there’s a lot of fun games to play including Surf and Safari Pinball, Multi arcade with Pacman and Donkey Kong, Beach volleyball, Corn hole, chess, giant Connect 4, and Ms pacman. There is a large outdoor courtyard with a shaded patio area and free popcorn! Look forward to my next visit! The décor is very industrial with a warehouse w unpolished concrete floors and exposed air-conditioning ducts. There’s no AC which might be an issue later in the summer but there’s plenty of fans so it wasn’t too bad on my most recent visit. Cage brewing has only been open since January 2016 and is still pretty new. There’s a black fence in the middle of the warehouse separating the brewery fermenters from the bar area which is a bit on the crude side but they’re still pretty new and the brews are good. My bartender Laura was very nice in explaining the differences in the brews and I got attended to quickly and got my brews quickly as well! Thanks!

On a brewery tour day out with the girls we met up here for one amd enjoyed ourselves. The selection was good. The layout is a little weird here and we ended up sitting on one side of the bar away from others as the other side was full. It made it difficult to chat with others so we ended standing in the other part. Minor complaint there as we’re chatty people lol I forget exactly what everyone had but they were quite good and unique which I really like.

I really enjoyed Cage Brewing! Located right across from Pinellas Ale Works in an old corner building on 1st Ave South in St Pete. The front room was empty when we walking in with a sign directing us to the back bar area(light traffic on a Saturday afternoon). There are various arcade games throughout the brewery and they have a large outdoor seating area with corn hole. No food, so be prepared to go elsewhere if you’re hungry! Plenty of fans because it is more of an indoor/outdoor setup. It was great! The beers were very delicious(I had the mango double IPA which was delicious). They had run out of many of their taps on the board but I chalk this up to visiting after what was most likely a busy Friday night for a newer brewery. The ‘cage’ surrounds the brewing area and I really liked the atmosphere of this brewery. I will be back for sure.

Another great addition of breweries in DTSP. Located near 3 Daughters and Pinellas Ale Works. For a brewery to recently open they have a great selection of beers on tap. I ordered a flight and was impressed with the pale ale and the peanut butter imperial stout I had. They also have Kombucha on draft as well which is pretty awesome! They have a whole bunch of old school games that are FREE to play! Loved Pac Man and Frogger. Staff was very nice and passionate of their business which I admire. Great place to enjoy some craft beer, games, live music, and food trucks.

Liked the nice open yard, open air feel to the place with games and popcorn(I’d say very kid– friendly place) and I did enjoy the beer. I also liked the concept that not all taps could be sold as growlers– so that it will be available to regular customers. Seemed some griping by regulars that some favorites were blown out but it appears they are increasing capacity so that would happen as often. I will add– if a brewer is blowing out of a product it must be a good product. Hat’s off! Anyway I will be back soon.

I’m going to give this 5 out of 5 start just because of the crazy, quirky bar tender we had. She was so friendly and open telling us about how she moved from St Petes from Ohio. We had some banter because she was a Steelers fan(tattoo and all) and we were Eagles fan. She tossed in some funny anecdotes and gave us a lay of the land. The OhPIEo pizza was something original. Don’t confuse it with Chicago, New York or any other pie. It was a creation unto its own. It wasn’t a conventional circle, but more of a hybrid circle square, sliced into 2 inch by 1 inch pieces. Extra hot crust that’s not crispy but flexible along with a good sauce and cheese ratio. The pepperonis were small and slightly spicy. You have to go pepperoni. Good eats. Beer was okay which had some moderately high abv beers that were tasty along the lines of a double IPA.

Convenient to the ball park. Great craft brew; I had the session IPA and ordered a pizza from the pizza truck in the parking lot. Looks like they have live music and games. Good atmosphere and brews. I’ll be back. Also, the girls behind the bar were cute and friendly.

I’m definitely a fan of this place, they’re doing some really good brews and the free games and huge patio add a really cool atmosphere. I knocked off one star because they’re consistently out of beers that should be on tap, so their selection is a little limited. It feels like they may have rushed the opening a little and that production capacity can’t keep up with demand. I have faith they’ll work it out and I really hope more people start coming here, it’s one of the better breweries in st pete these days!

I love microbreweries. I love them even more when they’re in my neighborhood. But my first visit did not meet my heightened expectations. Despite a less than full bar, service was slow. After a good 6 – 8 minute wait we were rewarded with a friendly smiling bar tender. The menu is displayed via large LED flat panel displays with all the specs a beer lover loves to see. I asked for two samples — a peanut butter stout as recommended by a happy couple at the bar– but it wasn’t for me. The next sample was strike two. So I settled on a brown ale. My sister had a lighter option. The beer was average at best. I never leave beer on the table, but felt no guilt in leaving the last inch of beer in the glass. The space is nice. You walk into the brewery area to access another bar(maybe a better choice to get quicker service). There are some great old school pinball machines and other games. Next to the brewery is a huge covered patio and even more space under the open sky. I will give them another chance. I’m sure I’ll eventually find a tap that resonates with the palate.

Friendly and very knowledgeable staff! The bartender literally explained every beer to me. Which is about 10 beers. Ended up taking a flight with a fantastic double hopped wheat called the Stalver. Had the red ale which was a little too malty for me. Had a chocolate vanilla porter which was not more than ok. Prefer Breckenridge vanilla porter. However, The coffee brown ale was fantastic! !!. On top of that they have a very large space for games as well as for dogs to run around. They have corn hole but also some old fashioned video games. They have a food truck outside that has some sandwiches and vegetarian chili. It was quite cool to hear about the name and why it’s called that way. I shall return! Especially since it’s 4 blocks away from my house.

This is a very cool little brewery and I love it’s proximity to some of the others in the neighborhood. There are two areas within the tasting room; one that’s up front which is more a traditional looking with high tops lining the outer wall opposite the bar while the other area is in the back building where the equipment is. There is a roll up door off the back room leading to a huge covered outdoor area where there are games and lots of room for congregating. They have retro video games, another bar and more tables in the back area of the tasting room… it’s pretty spacious. They have food trucks often, which is nice, although I wish they would have them park under the covered area when it’s raining. I’ve been here three times now and have tried a variety of wheats which have all been great. I really like Summer Wheatly and my favorite non wheat is the coffee brown. It gives 3D’s Coffee Blonde a run for it’s money. Overall, needs a bit more polishing but a great spot to hang out and enjoy some really great beer!

5 stars for the atmosphere, delicious beer, service– Just like all of the other 5 star reviews of this brewery, this place is great for the beer, atmosphere, games, and service. I tried several of their brews and liked all of them the same so I’m not sure I even have a favorite. They are dog friendly and on the Friday night I was there, they had a food truck outside. The venue is an open patio in the back with inside seating in the front. With the iron fence(cage) separating the customer from the supplies in the back, I kind of felt like we were at someone’s personal brewery. Service was great and super relaxed. Wasn’t real busy on a Friday night though, we were there early and parking isn’t a real problem since it’s mostly street just like all of the other businesses in that district.

This little place is a great stop along the St Pete brew tour. Diagonally across the street from Pinellas Ale Works, Cage Brewing also seems to «share» a food truck with them, which is a plus in case you get the munchies. Like Cycle Brewing, this seems to attract a little bit more of the hipster crowd, possibly due to the fact that some of their beers are a little more on the experimental side and that they offer free games(pinball, classic arcade selections and foozball). The general consensus of the group was that the atmosphere was more fun, but the beers were more hit and miss compared to Pinellas Ale Works across the street. I recommend checking it out, and look forward to drinking their beer as they mature.

Went there last night. Cool little place! They are still in the process of opening, so no art up on the walls and still can see the evidence of construction. Covered courtyard doesn’t have any furniture yet. Tons of seating inside though. Two bars. Delicious beers! I went with a large group and all of us could find something that we liked. Choices range from IPA to wheat. I had Winter Warmer. So good! Yummy food was out of the food truck which was on site. It’s a dog friendly place. A guy had 3 small dogs and I wish I would’ve brought ours. Old school video games are free!!! Got my butt kicked on Pac Man. I can’t wait to come back there and see how they grow and develop.

Shaping up to be a really cool place! With another brewery across the way, this area is becoming something even more than it already was. The Static IPA was definitely one of the most drinkable IPAs I’ve had; I only sometimes like IPAs. Some of the flavors suggested in the titles didn’t come through all the way, but some people like it that way. In just it’s first two weeks, this place shows a ton of promise. I’ll be back for the grand opening.

Let me preface this by saying I know the owners and head brewer of Cage. I have been anxiously anticipating their opening, and I have had their beer and seen them grow. The beer is generally light and drinkable. Perfect for the Florida climate. As this is only the second day they are open, I can’t provide too much insight into the beer. I tried a flight with the Static IPA, Galaxy Cat Pale Ale, Mango Bob’s Mango IPA, and Blue Rays blueberry wheat. All of them were very drinkable. My favorite was Mango Bob’s. It has a nice, light mango flavor, and I would consider it mildly bitter. I am really excited to try some of the beer they have coming down the pipeline! As far as atmosphere, the space is great! It’s a no frills kind of space. It is a brewery. It is a workspace. It is laid back. Exactly what brewing beer is all about. They have a great outdoor space with games. Inside, they have free, retro video games. Such a cool spot! It reminds me of the breweries in Portland, OR. This place is great for groups and parties. Their location in Historic Kenwood is perfect. Even better, I love the name and logo. Definitely check these guys out! Take an afternoon to try some beer, play some games, and maybe even buy a shirt. You’ll see me rocking my shirt all around town!
