Bubbles And Bows Mobile Pet Spa

While it seemed there would be a benefit to mobile grooming, that was not our experience, with this groomer from Bubbles and Bows. We have taken our indoor only, long haired cat for grooming, without any difficulty, so this was unexpected.
I contacted to confirm our appt. time on same day.
The B & B groomer appeared at our front door, without introducing himself upon arrival. He was reeking of cigarette smoke, perspiring profusely, and acting like he had no interest in being there. No enthusiasm regarding the job, or animal, was conveyed.
Groomers can appear neat & clean, by wearing scrubs, or aprons. Smoking around animals, especially when grooming, should not be tolerated, as fur absorbs the smell instantly.
While I was handing over our towel wrapped cat, to B & B groomer, he dropped him in the garage. I was able to quickly retrieve him, but that could have become a big problem. It seems to me that securing a client’s pet and using safe holds should be a basic skill set when working with animals.
Due to my increasing lack of confidence in this groomer, I requested a clip only, to minimize time & stress on our cat.
Considering this groomer was able to reduce his work time, by not bathing and drying, I expected him to produce a finished clip. His result was choppy & uneven. Each foot was a different shape & the fur was not uniform in length. Our initially clean indoor cat ended up smelling like smoke, with an overwhelming scent of grooming cologne.
Our neighbors who saw the B & B van, came by later and made the comment, «You paid for that.» The worst part was how very sick our cat was for the next two days. The groomer relayed he was difficult, although he had been groomed four other times without any issues, two I observed. I would not recommend based on this experience.

UPDATE: We had our second cut here, and we were very pleased.
I learned that, unless a groomer is a sort of Dr. Doolittle, the animal (especially cats) needs to get to know the groomer in order to reduce stress each time. It’s hard to judge a grooming experience based on the first time (except in unfortunate, rare instances), for this reason.
The same person groomed her each time, which I really like. She should be in a scary situation with the same person, at least! We’ve made the decision not to blow dry her, because she hates it. So do I.
Overall, the cut was what I asked for, there were no signs of nicks or irritation, and her nails were trimmed nicely. I would like for the between-​the-​toes area to be trimmed as well, so definitely specify that when you make your appointment, as it doesn’t seem to be part of the lion cut procedure.
This will be my go-​to groomer, until I discover Dr. Doolittle!

I love how Marie cut both of our pups– Our yokie looks perfect and my morkie (maltese and yorkie mix) has never looked better! Seriously, the morkie looks amazing– someone finally understood how to cut her! We are moving and I made sure to take tons of pictures to show whomever I find next. I would love to continue using Bubbles and Bows ;/​I am sad to have to leave!
Marie the owner was on time and FAST with the pups. I was so impressed. I literally thought it was going to take her a long time but it was quick! And the added touch of the stick on earrings on our girl dog was just adorable. I didn’t take them off :)

I have been a Bubbles and Bows client for over 5 years and love them! My Kobe is not a fan of the process but Marie and her staff have always been supportive. He always looks great, and I know they care about his welfare and safety.
