Trustworthy and reliable. When you are new to a community, one of the most important things to find — and often the most difficult to find — is a trusted mechanic. If you live in St Paul, and you’re looking for a great all-​purpose auto shop, this place is worth considering.
Weinhagen is my go-​to-​place for auto service. I use Weinhagen for all oil changes, tire replacement/​repair and unexpected repair needs. Brian Weinhagen is one of the service manager. He provides accurate estimates for cost and service-​time. He offers a free loaner vehicle if you need it… And, he’ll remember your name when you return to pick up your car — or at sometime in the future for additional service.
Most importantly, Weinhagen stands behind there service. When I had nearly $ 2,000 of work done on our chevy trailblazer in 2015, they provided a loaner and delivered the car when promised. After a few days, the «check engine» light went on and Weinhagen asked us to bring the car back. They dismantled the engine, found the problem, reassembled it and returned the vehicle at no additional cost.
If you have to drive 15 or 20 minutes to get to Weinhagen, I think its worth it.

I love taking my car to Weinhagen! The staff is friendly and they are always able to answer questions I have or give advice (since I have very little knowledge of car maintenance). The shuttle van to downtown St. Paul is a great extra perk — I love that my car can be serviced while I’m at work. I usually just go in for oil changes, but recently got a tire change as well. When I picked up my car, they had started to fill out a rebate form from Goodyear for me and had even addressed and stamped an envelope for me to use. Great service!

I can not say enough about christian in the front and mike! They really care about the people they are helping, their family and the community. In a world dominated by big box it us so wonderful to have a thriving honest family business!

I’ve been taking my cars to Weinhagen’s since I started driving more than 15 years ago. The service provided has always been very friendly and top notch.
Oil changes cost ½ what you’d pay at an oil change chain and I know it’s done right. They also do an inspection which isn’t typically done at those chains by untrained mechanics. I’ve had them do everything from tires to brakes to alternators, transmission work, 105k services, and more and always been very happy with the work. When my car battery died after just a year, it was replaced at no charge under warranty quickly and without hassle.
I know when I bring my car to Weinhagen’s, I’m not being taken advantage of. They will let me know when I may need to look at replacing something in the future but won’t pressure me to do it right away like most places. For example I was recently in for an oil change and told that I’ll need to look at replacing my brake pads in another 10,000 miles or so. Most shops would tell you that you need to replace them right away and be pushy about it even though there is no reason to do so for some months.
I’m very happy with the level of service provided and will continue to bring all of my vehicles here. Most of my family also brings their vehicles here and trusts Weinhagen’s work. I highly recommend them.
