If this was five years ago, I’d be giving this place a four stars. The only reason I’d dock it a star was because of Monday Men’s Night not being as good as it used to be. Unfortunately, I cannot say that this place is as good as it used to be. It has gone downhill in a few ways. I used to say that this was always a place to have a good time. Now, it’s a hit and miss. The reason I say hit and miss is because of the overwhelming level of political correctness. Often, I’d be visiting this place, and there’d be such an abundance of it from both staff and customers that it get to be uncomfortable being in there. I’d have to leave earlier than I had originally planned. I go to a bar for a good time, not to watch every little thing I say or do as closely as I often feel I have to. To their benefit, it’s not like that every night. There are some nights that I’d be getting great customer service, feeling comfortable, and having a good time by myself or with my friends. I’ve been there for their Wednesday night drag shows many times. They are quite a talented bunch. They know how to entertain a crowd and do great numbers. My favorite drag queen there is Jamie Monroe, especially her Liza Minnelli numbers(I’m a Liza fan). My only complaint about the drag shows is Gucci Velour. Every time I’ve seen her there, she has been extremely rude to my friends and me for no reason. I’ve seen her do the same with many of the other patrons. Her self-righteousness also does not need to be displayed when she’s working(she’s also a hypocrite). I’ve made multiple complaints to the bar about her. Besides, she is a horrible performer. She needs to go! I’ve been there a few times for Bingo. It is superb! I love that their money goes to HIV funding. I’m 100% for the cause. Aside from that, I’ve always had a blast playing with them. Overall, the quality of the drinks depends on the bartender. Heather, Trent, and Mickey are the best at them. They are also polite to the patrons and me. I’ve carried some pretty good conversations with some of them during their slow times. Sometimes, this can be a good place to go for a good time. I just have to observe a little more about when the best times are to go there, assuming the time frames are consistent. I hope the overall quality of the bar improves back to what it was five years ago.

It’s a great neighborhood dive bar. Fun shows, nice employees, and it absolutely recommend ordering a ‘skittles bucket’ if you’re not driving, it’s the best $ 7 you could spend. It’s proximity to the Hamline Station on the Green Line is also tremendously convenient. This is one of those bars that has room for everyone. *don’t miss the little piano bar in back.

Cash only! On the green line pub crawl marching towards Pizza Luce Block Party and decided to make a stop here. This place is DARK.(As in i came at 5pm and i can’t see my hands when i walked in the place). However the regulars were very nice and they had a nice range of music(even some Kate Perry…) Food: We got some tots, fries, chicken fingers to share and it was meh. The portions were smaller than other bars and quality was about average. I wouldn’t come here for the food. Drinks: Decent, got two beers(hop dish and shock top) for 7.50. Not a huge range of options but seems like the local’s CC Club sort of deal. Bartender was decently nice. Atmosphere: it was quiet here but they have darts, some arcade games and pool. We played pool and darts/cricket which was entertaining enough. The people here were nice, many engaged in conversations with our little group. Overall, very divey place to stop by but the locals are super nice and there’s a range of entertaining activities to pass time. Given there are so many local places to eat, I would probably eat elsewhere.

Judging from the pics of the interior when this place opened a half century ago things have definitely taken a dive, but that’s not bad thing. Certainly has the feel of a small town version of a gay bar: there are like a dozen of these exact kind of places on the south side of Columbus. It’s an older crowd, tends to skew blue collar. Beer is cheap(er). Not my scene, but good to know that for some of the gay club-averse non-hets that they have someplace to go I suppose. Seemed to have a bit of a lesbian presence too, like the 19, but still makes me surprised that there’s not a single lesbian bar in either twin city. Guess it’s more of an Ohio thing? The kissing photo booth is a cute touch. Oh yeah: CASHONLY.

You know. It’s the divey rundown neighborhood gay bar where people are friendly because you’re family. Cheap drinks with lots of booze. Nothing fancy. Fun drag nights on the weekend and dollar drinks on weds

Super relaxed LGBT dive bar. Soon to be accessible by light rail. My favorite part about the Town House is how trans friendly it is. They have a small beer and liquor selection, so don’t expect anything fancy.

And now… a haiku. Wifebeater clad dyke You are scaring my girlfriend No sudden movements … Okay, so that doesn’t sound like the beginning of a four star review. But it is. I promise. It’s small in here. When it really gets hopping(because, trust me, it does) it makes manuevering a little… intimate. But the drinks are strong, cheap and made by very pleasantly attentive bartenders. I’ve seen everything from straight(maybe bi?) ladies with their boyfriends to a balding man half-dressed in drag making out with another man while simultaneously fondling a mature(like the porn usage) lady’s right tit. Yep. But you know what the best part about such a wide variety of people is? No one gives a shit about what everyone else is doing or is into. Neither my girlfriend nor I are particularly recognized for being social butterflies. We tend to observe… at least, until, the liquid courage starts taking effect. That being said, one night during our ‘scope the crowd’ session, we noticed a petite little Indian guy with a bowl cut walk in wearing a tight rainbow sweater, skinny orange corderoys and a pair of Chuck Taylor’s. I can’t lie: we chortled. Just a little. We didn’t think much else of it until about a half hour later when the music started up. People had begun filing in for the night but no one had been brave enough to christen the dance floor. That is, of course, until we saw our Indian friend slowly make his way onto the stage. He paused, took a breath, clenched his fists and began to dance the most awe-inspiring, passionate, Napolean Dynamite meets Dancing With The Stars dance I’ve ever witnessed. I went from, «Heh heh… check out that sweet bowl cut» to, «…What the hell have I been doing with my life?» in ten seconds flat. Ah, yes. The haiku. We had finally taken to the dance floor. I mean… we weren’t really using it for its intended purpose(my best dance move is the passionate potato sack) but we were having a good time just chatting. All of a sudden we noticed the crowd start to part. This short somewhat stocky female with long, gangly blonde hair crammed under a dirty baseball cap started shuffling towards us. She was wearing an old wifebeater, sagging cargo jeans, a gold chain that should’ve tipped her over and a scowl that could knock a buzzard off a shitwagon. She looked like she’d shanked a few kittens; she looked like she only briefly cried during that scene in Old Yeller. I was so glad she only seemed to be coming toward us before she veered off at the last moment to go up to some voluptous lady wearing a scrunchie and a unicorn t-shirt. Thank you, scrunchie lady. Good times… good times. Fur trader friendly(unlike the 90’s).

A fun dive bar. Be sure to bring plenty of cash– bar is cash only(and you’ll need singles for tipping drag performers), though they do have an atm. The drag shows are tons of fun and they have great specials on domestic pitchers. Pool tables, back bar, heaters above the smoking areas outside. Go for the fun clientele and nice bartenders, and be sure to stay for a drag show!

Came here in September and have been meaning to write a review. It was a Sunday and the Vikings were just beginning their second half. Apparently drinks are two for one when the Vikings play! So Margaritas and other mixed drinks were on the menu for me. The bartender was friendly, and the crowd looked to be regulars, older gay men just trying to enjoy the game. This was a low-key bar(like I mentioned came here in the early afternoon, I imagine its much more livelier at night), with stiff drinks and quick service. If I was in the neighborhood I would definitely pick this dive over others in the area(if you are not familiar with the area then I would DEFINITELY recommend this bar over the others).

The last Saturday of every months is a drag show where the performers are working hard for every crumpled dollar. They are no Ru Paul, but wow, they put so much energy into their performances. I also love that they have both drag queens and kings. I wish every drag show would! The bar is an interesting mix on drag night: young and older queers, mixed gender(though mostly women the night I visited), and fairly racially diverse(though pretty segregated). The MC is very funny and they perform for almost 2.5 hours! PBR tall boy cans are $ 2.75 from 10 – 12 even on weekends! They advertise a weekend beer bust with something like $ 11 for all you can drink from 4 – 6(I think?), which sounds like a great way to have fun that you’ll regret later. Only downside was the tacky straight bachelorette party that didn’t seem to get the memo that gay people can’t get married in Minnesota, making it kind of obscene to be displaying their ability to do so in gay spaces. I prefer the Chicago gay bars’ rule of banning these parties.

Neat little divey gay bar. A friend invited my partner and I here on one of their proclaimed«ladies nights» Like many predominantly male gay bars, it’s hard to feel welcome as a woman. There were a good amount of women in this place and a decent amount of people of color. Drink specials are a good deal. They are very strong too! I recommend the Arnold Palmer. It’s sweet and if you like the regular Arnold Palmer, this will suit your tastes! Along with a full bar, it also has a dance floor. Overall, it’s a nice little place to have fun when you don’t want to go out to Hennepin or go to any of the overcrowded gay bars.

There is just so much to be said about these little local feeling bars in the middle of an urban sprawl! The drinks are SUPER strong, the place is loud and crawling with drag queens and lesbians, and who doesn’t enjoy watching people get pulled over every ten minutes on Uni Ave??? I took my mother here for Mother’s Day(yes I know, my mother LOVES the gay bars) after we had gotten done hopping at some of her other favorites and we ended up finishing the night here. We sang Karaeoke and got completely hammered in Lucky’s back bar. She normally isn’t there on Sunday’s but she was filling in for the other woman that works back there. In the future I am sure that I will spend a lot more time here, but this is one of those places I have to be careful about… I need to make sure that I don’t drive there because if your car isn’t out at bar close, you have to go pick it up from the impound, and I absolutely do not condone driving drunk(which is exactly what you will be after spending an hour here)!

Talk about FUN! Visited the TH on a recent Saturday night for one of their special show events to support a friend who was participating. Cover was only $ 3 and totally worth it! We were greeted by friendly people everywhere — door dude, bartenders, patrons, dancers — everyone! Drinks were good and strong at less than $ 5 a piece… maybe a little too strong. Will stop in again. Thanks for having us, it was a blast!

If you’re seeking a grip of dykes on ninja bikes, start here. Well, maybe not the bikes, but definitely the dykes. If you’re family, you’ll fit right in and if you’re not, well, come and have a good time anyway! I have hung out here a couple times; yes I have been asked if I was straight, no it wasn’t a big deal. The drinks are strong, and on Wednesday’s they’re also cheap(only a buck!) ANDDJ Brandon spins the tunes. Overall, a good time. There are also a ton of other bars on this strip of Snelling, so you can always hop over to one of many dives.
