Park Square Theatre

Good venue in Downtown St. Paul. Comfortable, cozy atmosphere. Volunteer staff managing tickets and seating extremely nice. The two plays I have seen here are OK, but not outstanding. Will return, but hoping for better theater.

Park Square theater has two marvelous stages, the Andy Boss thrust stage and the proscenium stage. Their productions are well done with great staging, sets, costumes and acting. I have enjoyed several shows here.
Located in the Hamm building in the heart of downtown Saint Paul, dining before or a drink or dessert after a show is an easy short walk; the Meritage and Great Waters are located in the Hamm building as well. Sometimes in the evening, strains of music can be heard in the halls; the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra rehearses and sometimes plays in the Hamm building as well.

My Season tickets begin Sept 6^th, 2014. They said tickets would be out in July, 2014. August 21^st… NO TICKETS!!! MANY EXCUSES!!!
Next year I’ll be DAMNED if I purchase another ticket when they don’t keep their contract of delivery.

Not a bad little spot for an entertaining evening, at a price that the 99% can afford!

I found out there was the opening of «Good People» while I was visiting the Twin Cities for work. The theater is smaller than most but every seat is up-​close and personal to the stage. I also got rush ticket so saved more than a few bucks. Parking across the street was easy and just $ 5 after 5PM. No huge crowds and traffic like Minneapolis so I would go here instead. The cast and crew was wonderful. There is an intermission and nice little theater shop next door. Overall, I look forward to coming back to see another performance. Also, I heard the last week of this show was sold out so better to check it out early rather than later.

Went here for the first time last night to see August: Osage County. The play was spectacular and the actors were quite talented. We had gotten tickets that morning and although, I had certain seats in mind, the ticket agent suggested other seats (same price) that she thought would give us a better view and she was so right. Great customer service and friendly people working here.
The Theatre itself is nicely laid out, seats are comfy, and its easy to get to.
The concessions area at intermission was well organized and the lines went quickly. Tickets are reasonable if you are under 30– only $ 15 and Rush seats are $ 20 cash. I am looking forward to seeing more productions.

We have season tickets because the productions are a great value for what we pay for. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The theatre is small and intimate. We have several actors that we have grown fond of. They do a very nice job with the sets and costumes. We have an enjoyable time and so do some of our friends we have brought along.

A nifty little spot in downtown Saint Paul that does theater that’s a bit edgier and more interesting than the Guthrie but not so wild you can’t take your grandma to a show. I’ve been to a number of shows here over the years, some I’ve enjoyed immensely and others not so much, and while none has stuck in my head as a fantastic experience, I always feel quietly content after a night at the Park Square. You’ve got your standard Shakespeare interpretations, a few Great American Classics adapted for the stage, and then the Twin Cities premieres of new plays (which I tend to think are the most interesting to check out). Plus, the under-​30 ticket price is a steal at $ 15. It’s nice to see a local place making such an effort to make theater-​goers out of us young’uns…

I came here a couple weeks ago to see Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. I’ve also seen a couple of other shows here in the past couple of years.
It’s in the Hamm building, next to Great Waters and Meritage. It’s a pretty small theatre, compared to the Minneapolis theatres, but every show that I’ve seen here has been great and the prices are much better.
If you’ve wanted to check out some of the new hot spots in Downtown St. Paul, the Bulldog, Pop!!, etc. You could make an evening out of it with a show at the Park Square Theatre. There normal ticket prices are around $ 35, but if you are under 30, you get a pretty big discount, so it is maybe only $ 10. Also, you can do rush tickets for $ 15, cash only.
I think the place only holds about 300 people. It’s an intimate setting for a play and the acoustics are pretty good. All in all, this is probably my favorite theatre. It’s in a great location, with Rice Park and the Landmark Centre across the street.
