The place smelled really bad, like the toilet was backed up or something. I only ordered some baked potatoes, but even they weren’t done correctly. This isn’t the same Best Steak house of years gone by. If you want one like that, the one on White Bear or the one on University are your best picks

I hate biased reviews. People asking for 5 star qualities in a small lunch line type steakhouse. If people wanted quality, Manny’s or Fogo de Chao would be the places to go. My review will be based on places like this. It won’t be a biased review like a smartphone vs flip phone type deal. I was here for a quick stop before going back to college. For the price, I would say it was worth it. I had a New York strip steak meal for $ 20.35 so it wasn’t too bad. The steak itself has no special sauce on it. Just salt and black pepper. The steak was pretty big so it took me awhile to finish it. The sides were alright. It was your typical toast, baked potato and salad sides. The toast was crunchy but not rock solid. The potato was like 90% cooked. The middle was still a bit tough but it wasn’t like raw or anything. The salad was a bar type salad so not much to expect there. You could switch your potato for fries. I chose baked potato because it reminds me of when my father would take me to these small best steakhouse type places. The place itself didn’t look dirty at all but it didn’t felt completely clean either. It just feels unclean as if you want to wash your hands every time you touch something. All my food I used silverware and didn’t touch my food with my hand at all. That just might be me being a little paranoid. The biggest and only turnoff for me was the smell of the place. I don’t know what the smell was but it had a weird heavy smell. It took me a good 15 minutes before I started to get use to the smell. If you tried hard enough to smell it, you can still smell a hint of it. I don’t know what it is but it would have been hard to eat if I didn’t adjust to that smell. Be prepared for that smell. I give it a 4⁄5 because for the price it was worth it. Portions were huge and the food wasn’t that bad. I took one star away because the smell and the place just didn’t look or felt the cleanest. If they took a little time to fix it, I’m sure it would be great. Would I stop by again? Sure. I probably won’t dine in and it will be a once every month or two thing. My advice? Order to go and also order the steak without salt and black pepper so you can put the amount you like on it yourself. The other food looks good from what I saw others order. Remember what you are paying for here vs at a higher quality restaurant.

First off, the décor is too cute. It’s a tiny self serve joint. The food was good and the price decent. I don’t know why there’s more bad reviews on this place than good. I like the food, the portions are good and they guys behind the counters are nice. I had the pork viet sandwich. It’s bold and full of flavors. Don’t expect it to be like other bahn mi sandwiches. This is their take on the viet sandwich and I must say it’s pretty tasty. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak and boy was is loaded, so much ooey gooey cheese. My sister had the quesadilla and I must say, they don’t skimp out on the fillings. All our sandwiches comes with a heaping amount of fries. And water is of course free, self serve. I wouldn’t say it’s cafeteria style. It’s like fast food. You order, you pay, find a seat and when your food is ready they guys will bring it out to you. I would definitely go again and maybe give their steak a try.

It was an enjoyable experience. I had the Mushroom and Swiss burger with fries. The food was great, I love the flavor and it was not over cooked. The owner and her daughter were eager to answer any questions I had about the menu. As I awaited my food to cook, the owner was so pleasant to talk with. Very Good that’s why I give 4 stars.

If you want deep fried food, this is the place to be. Had the steak vietnamese sandwich. 1st time there and didn’t know the meat would be super rare. The people there should’ve said something. I still ate it, i dont mind rare but after awhile i felt like throwing up. I thought I was going to get a normal sandwich like every where else, but nope deep fried bun! Yuck! I liked how the sandwich is humongous and came with a big portion of fries. The meat on the sandwich was overly seasoned. Tasted like a lot of rosemary was put in it. The pictures on their facebook looks good, but those are only pictures.
