Not for vegetarians or vegans. They make no attempt to make anything vegan, only offering to make a boring salad even more boring. If you don’t want a cheese pizza or a wrap, you don’t get much as a vegetarian either. As a vegan, I’ve ordered a cheeseless pizza, and they barely put any sauce or vegetables on it. This time, I had the spaghetti with marinara, and it was pretty good, but they charged me $ 16 for spaghetti and meatballs for a paltry amount of pasta and sauce that I doubt was vegan considering their lack of caring for non-meat eaters. Also, this is one of the few places on earth that doesn’t have a veggie burger, even though the company that owns this place has other restaurants that have vegan burgers(but lard buns – stupid). I won’t be eating here or any of their other restaurants again until they finally start thinking more like 2016 instead of 1950.

Like they say, it’s a cliché for a reason. From my aunt who ate their religiously when she lived on Grand to when we were young and ratchet and thought Monday Margaritas were cool, it’s just a St Paul classic. Seriously I associate the feeling of being tipsy with that bathroom. Enough vegetarian options and something to please everyone.

The Asian Zing burger was AMAZING! I ordered it to be delivered, and it was hot and perfectly cooked when it arrived! Melt-in-your-mouth delicious, I tell you! Fast, friendly, delicious service. Well done.

We went there today. It was very slow and we had very slow service to go with it. We waited 30 minutes before we even got our drinks. Not too happy with the customer service today.

I knew when I saw it on my way in that it wasn’t the type of place where you should expect much, and I was right. It was late, so I ate in the bar. The host was nice but a bit awkward, making a customer get up and move so we could get by… even though the other way was clear. The server took a while to come my way. She was super apologetic and offered me bread, so I don’t have issues with her. The food was all heavy so I had a «fit choice» salad – cilantro lime shrimp. The shrimp wasn’t really breaded but kind of might have been, and it wasn’t really warm or cold. The rest of the salad was basically salsa and greens. The dressing was good. Meanwhile, the host got off work so he, the bartender and another employee hung out with the regulars. I guess some people love this place, huh?

If you’re looking for a restaurant with bellow average food and want to wait 40 minutes for it pay too much money for it you’ve found you’re place.

Food was mediocre. Service was terrible wrong, slow. I will not be returning. Our server had us repeat our order twice for a few items but even with that she got our pizza order incorrect. Not only that we clearly ordered everything off the happy hour menu even pointing off the menu but when the bill came we were charged full price when asked our server said the deep dish was not included. Keep in mind no where on the menu said that it was not included. They did offer to discount or a gift card in return which was nice but didn’t makeup for the crappy service. None the less I will not be returning.

Preferred my Cobb Salad here much more than the Hennepin Ave. location. It was loaded with bacon, chicken, blue cheese and avocados. Very fresh and satisfying. Server was super friendly and I received a free dessert for my Unilocal check-in.

For some reason I thought it was a good idea to try pizza delivery from Green Mill one night. No, it is not. Took an hour and a half to get my pizza delivered to me cold when I only live 3.5 miles away. Called twice to ask about the status. The first time I was rudely dismissed by someone who said all the deliveries went out. Called later and they begrudgingly called the driver to ask about status. Both the person on the phone and the driver said they would send me a gift card to make up for the delay. A week and a half later I still haven’t received anything so I doubt that’s coming. And on top of the horrible lack of service, the cold pizza wasn’t good. Hopefully dining in is a better experience but I’m not inclined to try that now after this stinker. Call anyone else for pizza delivery.

I stopped going here a couple of years ago when I had terrible service(45 minute wait to get served?). Decided to brave the founding establishment again on a Thursday night, and was PLEASANTLY surprised! Our server was super experienced and incredibly gracious this time around. The food is surprisingly good for this type of establishment. They understand the basics, and use good ingredients — as long as these time-tested recipes are well executed, there is nothing stopping em. I had the summit burger and my partner had the lobster mac and cheese. Both far exceeded my expectations. Good company, eating food with good ingredients, well executed, and great service. That’s my idea of a great time. The ok-review reflects the current average between my latest(good) and previous(bad) experience, but the more i go, I hope to pump more stars into this review.

Strike 1: We ordered a flatbread appetizer and the waitress brought the wrong one. We couldn’t flag her down so we ate it anyway. Strike 2: My entrée was supposed to come with soup or salad. I ordered a salad with Italian dressing. It never came. Strike 3: My husband’s Summit burger tasted nothing like a burger nor like Summit. Strike 4: Some college kids were doing a scavenger hunt, and the hostess let them in so they could take a picture with people at their table. Twice.(We were one of the«lucky» tables to partake.) The only redeeming qualities were that the sausage and shrimp buccatini was actually quite tasty, and we had a coupon.

Bingo! Food is ok, it’s a chain and I’m biased against them, but they have BINGO! So that gives them points. Food is what it is, and it always seems as if the servers are overworked as it is hard to get refills or new bevs. Overall, it’s worth it though cause they have BINGO!

Saturday night at 7:00 Was extremely disappointed in this Green Mill. Was excited for their deep dish pizza having had it three weeks earlier at a different location. The Il Primo pizza description mentioned four different types of cheese. Safe to assume this would be dripping in chessy goodness. Guess not. The sauce was dried out on top, toppings(pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage) were scant, and the term«deep» in deep dish was loosely applied. Also, call me crazy, but when I read«diablo» wings, it brings to mind hot, hot wings. Yes, shoudl’ve read description and not assumed, but I didn’t expect honey wings w/zero heat. While i’m staying picky, the plates of wings included a ratio of 8 «wings» to 2 «drummies». Just saying. Yes, i’m miffed while writing the review, but I raved about green mill and pushed for this as our destiniation, only to leave upset and let down. As for service, she wasn’t too bad, though the time between check drop-off and pick-up was 15 minutes. Again, i was ticked at the end, so the singing busboy floating by our table only did more to infuriate me. Unilocal, judging by the 2.5 stars out of 5 shown here, I should’ve checked you first.

Best place for Monday Night Trivia! Food is always delish — the spot to go for comfort food. The catering is incredible as well! Check them out for your next banquet.

as far as green mill’s go this is the nicest one I have been into as it has more of a mom-and-pop feel than a big chain. The bar gets quite busy and they have really great prices on happy hour appetizers so you can do a great deal of eatting here along with drinking. Been here many times for late night happy hour. The food is always good, fresh, hot. I would steer clear of any«fancy» drinks as you will get cheated on the alcohol go for a draft beer or bottle beer. Men seem to love it — not my favorite hang-out but I have to compromise sometimes… and overall not to shabby…

Despite the fact that this Green Mill seems to be a training ground for new wait-staff, we still like to come here. I like to be able to get my Bell’s Two-Hearted Ale here ! Went here recently and re-discovered how awesome the classic lasagne is ! The server was not aware that the salad should come before the entrée, but Hey ! live and learn, right, maybe? Better luck next time ? EDIT: Another visit and the server was totally incompetent and the manager was not much better !

This place is ok and an ok option when other places are packed, whenwe still want to dine out for something quick. Not a fan that they don’t deliver to our area, even though we are less than a few miles away. Their cut off for delivery is literally one block over. Whatever, crazy zoning. I guess if we were really in the mood for their pizza, we would get off our lazy butts and go pick it up. However, their pizza is not that great. Not terribly overwhelmed by it. The dine in service has always been good at this location and the food comes out pretty fast. The millhouse club and italian ciabatta have always been good when I’ve ordered, but a lot of bread– almost too much bread. Parking is almost always two blocks away– at least the few times we’ve been.

Stopped here for happy hour yesterday after going to the HPB warehouse sale(awesome!!). First, I love a place that has HH on the weekends, so there is a huge plus! We had pizza which was fantastic, cheese curds which were surprisingly really good, and cookie ice cream extravaganza which of course was yummy! Service was good, food was good, beer was cheap and seasonal. The restaurant was kind of dirty though; tables un-wiped and messy bathrooms. Also, there were 3 tables in the bar with kids at them… I really don’t like that, I need adult time in the bar… is that just me?!?

Stopped in on a week night around 7p. Quiet so we sat in the bar. No complaints about the service but did notice that the prices are starting to really creep up there. But the pizza… best pizza I’ve had in years! Had the pescara crust and it was perfect. If I could be guaranteed a pizza like this every time I would have no reason to go elsewhere. Don’t think I’ll be stopping at Pizza Luce anytime soon.

I had not been to this Green Mill since my Macalester Days and nothing much has changed except the menu has gotten much larger. My initial plan was to order a pizza but since my daughter wanted to eat healthy, she ordered a salad, so I went along with it and got one too. The salads were really good. I had a chicken stir fry salad and she had a shrimp lime salad. We shared some spinach dip with homemade bread and that was awesome and crazy inexpensive. I would come back just to get that as a take out order if friends were coming over and i was too lazy to make my own. Many Unilocalers talk about the serving portions and although the salads were not huge, they were plenty big. I think we all have gotten so used to huge servings that when we get served an ordinary amount of food, we are disappointed. Our service was good, not great but it was extremely busy and she was definitely nice enough and did the best she could. No complaints on the service. We had a crowdcut certificate for $ 30 and our total cost for two salads and spinach dip with one soda was $ 34. I think the prices are a little spendy for what you get but we most definitely will be back for Happy Hour some night and I will keep my eye out for more deals.
