It’s a Cub foods, WTF you want? Way better lit than«The Cub That Time Forgot» over at Har Mar, friendlier employees than Roseville, with self checkout lines big enough to accommodate more than two of those shxtty plastic bags full of stuff. What else you want from a chain grocery store?

Lemon poppyseed muffins taste like a lemondrop turned into a cake. Too much of that fake lemon flavor, not enough deliciousness. Drinking English Breakfast tea with them could not distract from the vicious flavor of these muffins. They look delicious, but don’t be fooled: these muffins will choke your senses and leave you sorely disappointed. .9÷5 — did not die upon consumption.

This Cub is the worst! They had NO carts for their customers when I went. Needless to say, I won’t be going to Cub again.

Beware the prices, check your receipts before leaving the store! I generally drive past here to go to a competitor farther away(in large part because this CUB is short on Handicapped Parking and long on Low Emissions vehicle parking, which I’m all for, but not at the expense of us handicapped shoppers), and their prices(higher than other CUBs), but was in a hurry on 8÷16÷13 and stopped here for what ended up being almost a $ 100.00 trip. Since I don’t shop Cub often, I just pulled out my receipt to see if they still do cents off at Holiday since I only buy Holiday gas(no you have to sign up for something now, and I won’t be back, so no Holiday discount for me). In scanning the receipt, I noticed I was charged for 3 of something I bought 2 of at $.39 each and charged $ 4.71 for«red cherries» which I never bought, purchased nothing remotely similar to cherries like grapes, cherry tomatoes, etc. and had bought nothing else not accounted for. That’s $ 5.00 I paid for but didn’t BUY on just one trip! I figured it would be a waste of my time(it was) but called for a store manager and got Steve who said he was Asst Manager. I explained this to him and he had nothing to offer, not even an apology! I did not expect him to say come in, we’ll give you a refund, as I had no proof once out of the store, but come on, this counts as Customer Service? All he could come up with was«well she must have manually punched in a code and it was wrong». That’s it? I mentioned to him at $ 5.00, if that happened every week, it’s $ 260.00/year out of my pocket, and I can’t afford that. Not so much as an APOLOGY like«gee, ma’am, I’m sorry that happened» so the conclusion is I will never set foot in a Cub again. There are enough other grocers around like Rainbow, Aldi’s, Trader Joes, Byerly’s and others. I offered him the opportunity to apologize at the very least, but clearly that was asking too much. The few times I have been in this store, I’ve noted that other reviews are right — produce and fruit tend to be very spotty. Shop here at your own risk to your pocketbook!

Moving to the neighborhood I didn’t know what to expect… to be honest, I didn’t even know about this cub until I attempted to go to Rainbow off of Arcade and was thwarted by a locked door and a rude associate that told me that they were closed, granted it was 5 minutes to when they were stated to close, but he didn’t have to be rude about it. So this Cub… it’s closer to my house than Rainbow(plus), it’s new(plus), and the parking lot is nice and large(plus). I don’t mind coming here one bit, but I have found that if you can manage it, you should come later in the evening almost into nightfall… For some reason no matter what the time of day at this Cub it is so unbelievably full that you can’t even move around. Come nightfall they are restocking everything that has been picked over during the day so the selection is much better, and even fresher. The people that work here are quite friendly too, which makes the experience better. They are more than willing to drop whatever they are doing and help you out should you need it for any reason. I have only encountered one staffer that must have been having a bad day, and he was checking out a WIC transaction with a mother and her children and she had picked out a few non-WIC approved foods which irritated him for some reason. I will continue to shop here as it is convenient, close, open 24 hours, and has everything I am looking for when I am looking for it.

Wildly inconsistent. Despite being new, this Cub has a tendency to get trashy looking. I.e. the refresh rate on produce seems really haphazard. Some days it looks fresh, other days it looks like those down-market second-run bargain produce stalls. Sketchy. On the other hand, it does have some things that other Cubs don’t seem to stock. See: Milwaukee pickles. See: A larger ethnic foods section. See: daikon radishes and also kolrahbi.(Though on the latter, the refresh rate is, as I say, non-reliable.) This is so close to my house that I’m going to end up here on occasion for an errant gallon of milk and/or rolls of emergency toilet paper. When given the choice, though, I’ll go to other grocery stores(even other Cubs, if it comes to that).
