this cafeteria-style eatery offers gourmet soups, salads, sandwiches and much more! While on the pricier side, their menu changes daily and offers great meat and vegetarian options. Some of their soups include chicken salsa chili, a vegetarian black bean chili, thai coconut soup, New England clam chowder and quinoa asparagus soup. Depending on size and ingredients, the soup ranges from $ 5 to $ 10 and comes with a choice of bread made in house. The soup pairs great with a small sized salad, which change daily but are always great(coming from someone who doesn’t enjoy eating salad!) Café Latte also offers spread plates, sandwiches and a pizza and wine bar, but their desserts really take the cake(hehe.) My favorite dessert is the three layer turtle chocolate cake, but other options include tres leches cake, mango and blueberry cheesecake, flourless chocolate torte, strawberry rhubarb crostata and a variety of cupcakes! The smoked salmon stew is the BESTSOUP I have ever had! A must try, even in summer :)

Some of the best dessert cakes in the Twin Cities available in massive slices(perfect to share). I love the Tres Leches, German Chocolate, Turtle cheesecake, the list goes on. They also have a cafeteria-style lunch, and another location across the street called Bread & Chocolate that has breakfast pastries & coffee. It’s a destination.

I think this place should be branded as a cafeteria-style bakery rather than have a coffee title/name.

I’ve always love this place and their food. The reasons I’m only giving it three starts today are because whoever made my coffee, without using their brain, gave me my hot latte in a glass without a handle, so please tell me how I’m going to grab it? And the check out line is horrible.

Caffe latte is hands down the best dessert place in the twin cities area! no matter how much I eat, i always have a room for their dessert. Everything is sooo great, perfect. But some of my favorites include vanilla cheese cake and tres leche. not only is it a best dessert place, but I’ve also enjoyed their homemade soup, sandwiches and fresh salad! Pretty fresh and healthy options~ Love the ambiance. They have live music too on the weekend. Perfect for a date but not sure for study bc theres no wifi.

I went here for dessert with a friend. Ordered the chocolate cake and sea salt caramel cheesecake. There was live entertainment, so it was fun to pick at our desserts while listening to music. Great spot!

Had to try Café’ Latte’ on Grand Ave. Minneapolis, MN. Visited here about a month ago and finally got around to doing my review about it. First thing, when you walk-in there is a modern to urban style setting. They have an upstairs where you can dine as well. There is a gift shop too if you so desire to grab a souvenir for a loved one. Now, upon viewing the case of goodies. It just screamed«I’m expensive»!!! That’s how amazing everything looked. Who wouldn’t want their creation to look like it belonged in a restaurant on Hollywood Blvd…” Lemme take a selfie”… No paparazzi needed… The food look so fantastic. I had a slice of the cookies ‘n’ cream cheesecake. It was so so good! The price however, haha… I was hoping to not be as expensive as I said everything looked, cause it was!!! The slice of cheesecake alone after tax was a near 6 bucks. They have a variety of other café’ style upscale type of foods. I washed my cheesecake down with a Nutella steamed milk. It was divine!!! I loved this place, and will definitely go there again. If I had the money to spend, I would eat there every week, but it’s a little too pricy for me to indulge there all of the time, but it’s definitely OK to every once and awhile. As I stated the word«upscale» earlier in this review… it most certainly is an upscale place, but it’s worth it every now and then. I highly recommend Café’ Latte’ if you’re in the Minneapolis area and want to treat yourself, a loved one, or both to a delicious treat!!! Definitely worth a try, or several!

I only come here for late night dessert. They have a German chocolate cake to die for! Tonight however, I saw their Turtle cake. What could be better than a wonderful chocolate cake with caramel and pecans? Nothing!

The desserts are always the best and I appreciate the soup/salads and atmosphere but it’s pretty pricey for what it is. I probably won’t be back for a meal but will be for a dessert and coffee.

One of my favorite places in Saint Paul that reminds me of NYC cafes. I often have to satisfy my sweet tooth and Café Latte is absolutely my favorite pastry spot to do so. Of course they have other things on the menu going for them, but it is uniquely appropriate for a sweet treat ! Some of my favorite cakes include: The famous Turtle Cake, Tres Leches and their Carrot cake of course. Among their food options I have also enjoyed their Pesto Chicken Pizza and their Pasta Chicken Salad. What is most appealing to me about Café Latte is their ambiance. Standing two stories high on the corner of Grand and South Victoria with its glass exterior you cant help but want to venture inside. The place is so bright and modern that it makes it so easy to make an excuse to go there to grab something to eat or drink and even more tempting to want to dine in.

The dessert is to die for. ‘Nuff said. But really, they are stellar at this whole cake concept. And the food is really good. If you want a meal that will really fill you up, I wouldn’t recommend Café Latte. This place is more like a contemporary deli and the food is super fresh and healthy… which is why you can leave a little room for cake, right?! I always get the apricot salad and their soup, with complimentary bread rolls. I’ve heard great things about their sandwich spreads and next time I go, I’m gonna give that a go! So why the four stars if I love this café so much? Well, they are always busy(which can be good!) but just know that if you want some Café Latte and you are in a rush, be prepared to wait in line for about 10 minutes. Otherwise they always take to-go orders over the phone!

Delicious lunch fare. It’s hard to decide between a salad sampler or a bowl of their amazing soup, either one served with their hearty, delicious bread. Soup and salad selections vary daily, but it’s hard to go wrong. Desserts are over-the-top indulgent, as tasty as they are beautiful. They also have a full coffee bar in case you need a caffé latte with your goodies. Prices aren’t cheap but are reasonable for the quality of the food. I like going through the line to select from their mouthwatering array of ingredients but I’m not a fan of having to walk upstairs carrying a tray to find a table.

I’ve been here numerous times — the cakes are great and the pizza kitchen is very good. The rest is just meh. Doesn’t taste homemade like it used to and is quite spendy.

Have been here a few times for desert and its always great– I recommend anything with berries. The crowd at the salad and soup area is daunting so we avoided that last night with no wait at the bar for pizza. It was very tasty and the service was great– I recommend the roasted veggie Alfredo. Prices are a little steep but it’s good food and we will be back.

What can I say, it’s great. Too loud, but the cakes are amazing. Not a healthy eating place, but sometimes you need a splurge. Very busy around the lunch hour, so plan accordingly.

This place is amazing! My fiancé Michal and I went in to do some cake tasting for our wedding with Missy V. She is so enthusiastic and helpful and showed up even though I’m pretty sure I confused the date we had scheduled! She let us try all the cakes we wanted and we were surprised that we got to try such big pieces! I was surprised to find out that my favorite was their plain cheesecake, even though I’m not a huge cheesecake lover. We also came back yesterday to try their regular food and got soup and salads for dinner! Delicious! I especially loved the thai chicken soup!

Latte is my go to place for soups, salads and desserts. My family enjoys their pizzas, sandwiches and fun specials. I frequent Latte so often as they are consistently delicious, even though they are pricey. Can’t go wrong when you eat here. This is the place to purchase cake for birthdays, you will always get rave reviews.

Always here when I visit St. Paul! I love their freshness and variety of choice. Tried pizza but always want salad and soup, sometime with a sweet treat to share with family, couldn’t and wouldn’t allow myself to finish 1 cake all by myself, or I’ll have cake coma right there! Always order 3 salad combo($ 9.99) to go and eat in the car on the way back to KC. I like to eat healthy while travel, lots of vegetable & fruits salad, better than eating McDonald or Arby’s. Hope KC has a restaurant like this very soon.

This place has the most amazing desserts. I even ordered my wedding cake here because nothing else tasted as good. I wish I could say the same about the service. I picked up a slice of my favorite tres leche last Saturday. Brought it to the register to pay. Asked for a bag. I was bringing it to my grandmother as a treat. The counter employee rudely expressed how she didn’t think I needed a bag for my container. I disagreed since it was a gift. She then rudely grabbed a bag and tossed it across the counter. Then held out her hand for my payment. The cake might be really sweet here but the service can turn a bit sour.

Food is just OK. Basic american deli food. The lines are always long, and the food is just basic. Desserts and salads are the best parts.

BESTTURTLECAKEEVER!!! Café Latte’s famous turtle cake is hands down the best dessert I have ever had. The slice of cake was $ 5.75 but you get a huge piece and it’s SO worth it. Parking can be hard to find since there is no free parking lot specifically for Café Latte. I was able to get a spot on Grand just a block down, but there’s also parking garages you can pay to park in right next to the café. Overall, great experience! Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, lots of options for food. 10⁄10 would recommend.

The bakery here has never impressed me. Items are very pretty and wayyyyy too sweet without much actual flavor. The coffee is uniformity good, anything you order will be better than Starbucks. The food is really good. Try the soups for sure, best chicken wild rice in town. The prices are too high, and the lunch rush is nuts. If you go get yourself some soup, salad and coffee at 2:00 pm instead of 12 noon you will be happy. The upstairs seating area is nice too. Prices are high for what you get, but isn’t that always the case for«nice» places now, even casual ones. You could do worse.

This place is great for brunch, lunch, and dates. Great food selection and it’s made out to be deli style. I would definitely recommend the desert over the food, it’s just that good. They’re known for their cheesecake and it lives up to the hype. Service can vary but for the most part is good and fast paced. I’d bring anyone here

Asparagus cheddar soup, shrimp cashew salad, wild rice-cranberry, unbelievable sandwich spreads(truffle cream cheese), guacamole, can’t be beat. Then there is the CAKE! Might as well not spend time describing– it is incomparable and amazing. Gooey chocolate and caramel, fresh strawberries and lemon, cupcakes, candy, all the best around. Honestly the raves are for the«Turtle» cake, but the German Chocolate is extra special and can’t find quality like this anywhere. Friendly, but very busy staff. Very noisy and hard to find a seat at lunch(thus the 4 stars). Wait staff didn’t assist with seats and it was difficult to navigate upstairs to a back table. The Chicken Caesar Salad and Thai Shrimp were excellent. Best deal is the 3 salad choice deal, or sandwich and soup. Day old cake at the counter good as ever and will save you a couple bucks for an overdose of goodness sakes cake.

I regularly come here for some evening meal soup, and maybe a small pre-made salad blend. Counter staff members are friendly and accommodating — if you’d like a taste sample of pre-made salad or soup before ordering, just ask for it. While I enjoy their variety of soups, I cannot understand how they serve some soups in a bowl(1 ladle full) that holds half the amount of their shallow wide bowl(2 ladles full) and yet charge one price for a «bowl»(vs. a «cup» of soup). Another thing I’ve learned is that many of their soups contain cream. I continue practicing reminding myself to not order any of their desserts. Over many years’ experience, I’ve learned that all their desserts are way too sweet for my tastes. I’d rather forego the sugar rush and, instead, receive an extra ladle full of soup in my tiny bowl…

Classic choice while in St. Paul, whether for a quality lunch, tasty treat, or just good coffee. They have a huge variety of choices, so even picky eaters should be able to find something that makes them happy. Skip the street parking in favor of one of the nearby garages, and walk off your cake afterwards while browsing all that Grand Ave has to offer. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Thanks!

I’ve been here several times post dinner to get dessert. I love their cakes. They are beautiful and delicious! I’ve never been disappointed in any of their cakes. They aren’t super fancy cakes but the slices and flavors are tasty. There is wide variety of cakes to choose from. You can walk around and look at all the cakes offered before making a decisions. I’ve never had anything else here except their cakes so this review is just on the cakes :-) There is a parking ramp across the street and off street parking. I’ve been here when it’s busy and I can still find a place to sit. Most people order their cakes to go.

After 3 – 4 visits, I’ve only had dessert here, so my review is only based on this. I’ve had a few dessert items(Turtle cake, Salted Caramel Tres Leche, Lemon Torte and Carrot Cake) here and most have been pretty good, as in not to die for, but in the middle tasty. I’ve yet to be wowed by anything. The Carrot Cake looked so good and should have been, but was a bit dry, lacking in flavor, very short on carrot and the frosting lacked that cream cheesy flavor that is a must. The Salted Caramel Tres Leche was light and creamy with a hint of deeply caramelized sugar

Café Latte has long been an extremely popular café on Grand, from my days working in St. Paul, and still is today. If you like lighter fare — salads, sandwiches, soups. You’ll love Café Latte. It’s deli style — order at the counter and then take your food and have a seat. In more recent years, they’ve added pizzas to their menu. And of course, dessert! Lots of dessert. Tortes, cakes, pies… this is probably the real reason for the popularity of this often very-busy café. If you have a sweet-tooth, you won’t be able to get away without ordering some dessert. I’ve had salad, pizza, sandwiches, soup, bread, and desserts here and have always walked away happy. The prices are a bit higher, but they’re able to charge more because the food is fresh and they have no problem attracting diners.

I am very careful with my 5 stars but Café Latte certainly deserves one. Every time I go, I am greeted and serviced with exceptional customer service and from what I’ve seen, employees treat everyone as if they’re all familiar faces. I had the Au Gratin Pizza(sliced potatoes, cheddar, sour cream, tomatoes). Interesting combo but very tasty! I also had their Tres Leches Salted Caramel cake. Wow. That dessert is certainly what I picture in my heaven.(Also try the regular Tres Leches and Turtle cakes when you get a chance!!! Their best sellers.) My biggest thing is cleanliness at places like this and the employees are quick to clear the tables when people before you leave. Summary: Friendliness, efficiency and yum yums for days.

I absolutely adore this little café. Though the food is a little pricier, it is totally worth it. I recommend sharing with another person like I did, especially for trying their various dips that come with cucumbers and a small loaf of bread. For our three spread choices, we picked the spinach and chicken, the Sonoma Basil, and a cheddar spread. All were fabulous, and we had enough to take home. I also ordered the Chipotle Bean Chilli Soup, which comes with blue corn tortilla chips. Twas amazing! I don’t usually order vegetarian chilli, but this packed enough flavor that I hardly noticed. For dessert, I had a slice of the tiramisu cake. It was so light and fluffy, I thought I was eating a dream. Also, I tried some of my roommate’s caramel apple cheesecake. That was extremely decadent. Be on notice, they constantly change their flavors of the day for their desserts. I’ve had their mango blueberry cheesecake on a whim and have been desperately wanting more, but alas, I’m too lazy to stalk their dessert calendar.

SWEETHEAVEN !! There aren’t enough words to describe this restaurant. They have the most scrumptious, luscious, delectable desserts. The only downfall to this restaurant is that the selection is so awesome that one has a hard time choosing just what wonderful item to eat. I have only had their desserts, can’t stop myself from heading over to the bakery section once there. What makes them so special — for me two: Tres Leches and Cheesecake. Their tres leches are absolutely delicious: quite rich and with an apt level of sweetness(not too sweet which I love). I love that they have different flavors in Tres Leches like Salted Caramel, Chocolate. Now I’m not a big fan of cheesecakes, until I came here. Blown Away. Their cheesecakes are so light, creamy, right sweetness and texture; it just melts in your mouth. Heavenly! The cakes are reasonably pricey the portions are generous. It is absolutely worth it and is loved by everyone I have bought here. Ambiance is lively, wait staff is friendly and restaurant is clean. Many thanks to the Café Latte chefs who create this delightful treat! I’m glad I live in West Minneapolis far away from Café Latte.

Sinful desserts! Their chocolate turtle cake… let’s just say I now know why articles have been written about it! It’s is magnificent! Café Latte is a great place on Grand surrounded by so many fun shops and restaurants, it’s a must to any visitor in the area! So if you’re shopping, take a break(or drive out of your way!) for a delicious treat!

I had to come here for my birthday to get some delicious desserts. Their cheesecake is light and fluffy. The whipped cream on top just melts in your mouth and it’s perfect. The famous turtle cake I must say looked really good, but it is pretty filling. I ended up taking that one home but it’s not my favorite dessert they have. I’ll have to come back and try something new again. I do love this place

Last time I came here was when I just arrived from the airport and came straight here cause my friend and I had planned to do brunch. I arrived and was told by my friend to go upstairs. I almost forgot how big the place was. It was crowded and I had to find my friend. I realized that my good friend got a hold of most of our girlfriends to surprise me for my birthday. I was shocked and happy to see their faces. Of course, they got me tres leche, my favorite cake. Great friends are hard to find! This place have a lot of food options to choose from. There are soups, salads, sandwiches and drinks available. They are known for their cakes, pretty delicious! They sell by slices or you can buy a whole cake too. I usually come here for their tres leches cause the size of it is big. It is served as cafeteria style so you grab a tray and tell them what you want. At the end of the line is when you pay. Prices are pretty decent. A lot of people like to bring their family and kids to this place. I am not sure if they well alcohol though. It goes get loud and crowded on the weekend. I suggest to show up early to get a seat. I forgot to mention that this place is located in a shared building with Bonfire and other shops. If you are looking for a bathroom it is somewhere in the hallway. Parking is not the greatest since it is located on a busy street. Enjoy!!!
