Ace Hardware-White Bear Lake

Very convenient hardware store in downtown White Bear Lake. You can tell they want to win customers with service, and they do a good job. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. The store feels a bit cramped and crowded, which is the main reason this is a 4 star not 5 star review. Overall though, when I need a couple things, this is a great convenient option.

This is my favorite hardware store. I try to shop local when I can and all of the employees here are incredibly helpful! I’ve been in many times to get paint and various supplies and there’s a great color selection. The atmosphere is your typical convenience, aisle shopping organized very well. I never have trouble finding anything and when I’m looking for something out of the ordinary, there’s always a nice employee around more than willing to help out.
My most recent experience was after the first snow of the season. I have a new car this year and its rear wheel drive, so I definitely needed some supplies to deal with driving on the snowy, ice covered roads. I’d heard its good to put weight in your trunk and wasn’t sure exactly what to put in there or how much weight was necessary to be effective. This is all fairly new to me!
One employee immediately offered advice and helped me find everything I needed. He helped me load 120 pounds of sand into my trunk, well actually he did it all himself, wow was i impressed! He was definitely a little bit older and it was a small struggle but I was very grateful for all the help. I’ll never go to another hardware store again if I can help it! Great service, good prices, and convenient!
