I relocated to the St Louis area about 2 yrs ago and have had a really hard time finding a quality manicurist. I had become accustomed to having my nails done by someone who took great care in keeping my natural nails as healthy as possible and painting my nails very nicely. Since coming to this area I have had many bad experiences while trying to find similar service. I have literally tried every shop along the main thoroughfare in my area and have had bad experience after bad experience. The bad service ranges from non-​sterilized tools to having a file handed to me when I politely asked to have my toenail filed straight (because it was filed crookedly). And if that wasn’t bad enough, the technician made a scene when I didn’t tip her!
During my search I came across several reviews about Twisted Sisters (many from Groupon or Unilocal users) that stated «is okay» but «nothing special» to quantify the extra cost. To counter those claims let me just say that they are WORTH EVERY PENNY if what you are looking for is quality workmanship without the worry of getting a fungus – which is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
I have had my nails done by all three ladies and they have all done a top-​notch job. I value the time spent getting my nails done because it’s «me» time and these ladies really add to the experience. They are all very kind and accommodating.
Masters at what they do.
Clean shop.
Reasonable prices.
Quality products.

Love this place! I’ve been getting a Shellac manicure here every few weeks for over 2 ½ years. Friendly technicians, clean stations and very flexible about working with appointment times and my work schedule. Can’t imagine a better experience!

Friendly staff, great massage and skin care good. Nail coloring could have been better. It was a fun hour spent with daughters. Definitely worth a special treat for
us.

After quite a few stressful weeks, I decided I needed some me time, So I got on Unilocal and looked around for a nail salon. I found Twisted Sisters Nail Salon, (which I have driven by a few times, but never had the chance to try) and was stoked about trying them out. I purchased the Unilocal deal and booked my appointment. I walked in an was immediately impressed by the lack of the typical «nail salon» smell and lack of the «traditional» nail salon décor. It was clean and nicely decorated, it has a very nice «boutique salon» feel and atmosphere. I was greeted by Theresa (one of the owners). She was already with a client, but was still warm and welcoming. I started by getting a pedicure first. By the way, They have the perfect selection of polish colors, not too many (I usually get a bit overwhelmed picking a color as there are normally 200+ colors at a typical salon) but plenty enough for you to find just the right color. The pedicure chair was comfortable and the bowl was clean. Theresa did my pedicure. The water was perfect. It’s been about 8 months since I’ve gotten a pedi, she made no issue of it. It was, by far, one of, if not THE best pedicure I’ve ever gotten. She removed calluses without using the dreaded (and banned) foot shaver, my cuticles look amazing, and the paint job is fabulous. It took about an hour and a half, and cost $ 40. Hands down worth every second and every penny. The tools are clean and sterilized as well.
I got a full set of acrylic nails next. Angela (also an owner) did my nails. I sat down at the nail table and noticed that there wasn’t a nail «drill» anywhere to be seen, I was intrigued. Angela broke down the difference between «gels» and «acrylics» for me, as well as the price differences. (Based on my nails, acrylics were the best option until they grow out again.) She started with the usual pusing my cuticles back and trimming them. (All of her implements were in Barbocide so, clean and sterile) Then she carefully chose the correct sized tips for each nail and filed them to fit my nail bed perfectly before gluing them in place. I was still expecting the much despised, noisy, painful and horrifyingly obnoxious nail drill, to my joy and utter delight, she did not use one! She brought out a plethora of nail files, chose each one accordingly and did EVERYTHING by hand. I was extatic and greatly impressed. She is extremely gentle and very, VERY good at what she does. She was very meticulous and you can tell she cares about her work. It took about two hours (including dry time) and was $ 50. Again, THE best set of nails I have ever gotten. Well worth every second and every penny. I’ve already booked my second appointment and I cannot wait to go back. These Women know how to run a business and how to treat their clients. I was very highly impressed with them and their salon. A bit pricey, but again, DEFINITELY worth the price.
It wasn’t at all what I was expecting, and I loved it.

Dear Twisted Sisters Nails,
I wanted to like your shop, but my experience was horrendous. I showed up on time and my manicurist was 5 – 10 minutes behind me. The salon wasn’t open yet so she had to open it and she could not find her keys. Then the manicure/​pedicure I received took close to 3 hours, and it was ruined, ruined by later that afternoon because of clumpy polish.
Oh and the last thing, the manicurist went on and on about her personal drama, and it was extremely personal – ex-​husband, kids.
I think the owner of the shop is nice, but hopefully this particular manicurist no longer works there.

Received a pedicure here thanks to a great deal offered on Unilocal.I was not disappointed with my purchase.
Arriving, the salon was very clean. All tools are kept very sterile, and placed in blue sterilizing solution (whatever that is) between customers. This is very impressive considering in other salons, I’ve often seen this practice isn’t in place.
The staff is nice, and they have a philosophy of … «we judge no feet», which made me feel at ease, being I hadn’t had a pedi in some time.
I left the salon with perfectly polished toes, feeling refreshed. I have no complaints. Great salon. I will say it’s a good bit pricier than some of the other salons, where you can get a $ 15 drive-​thru style pedi. But I think you get what you pay for, and in this case it’s a friendly staff with clean tools. It’s nice knowing you won’t walk away with a fungal infection from dirty files and clippers.

I got a shellac manicure and a pedicure. The salon was decorated very nicely and the staff was friendly and accommodating. My services were $ 70 before tip. I felt that was a bit pricey but luckily I had purchased the $ 20 for $ 40
Unilocal deal. I would definitely recommend the salon as long as you have some spare cash and feel like splurging on yourself a bit.

I had never heard of this place until I came to Unilocal to find an inexpensive place to get a pedi. My pedi experience has been either going to the closest place I could find & complaining about the price or going to the cheapest place I could find & complaining about the service.
SO I thought this place has good reviews & a deal on Unilocal,so to patronize a Unilocal business, I thought, what have I got to lose.
My experience here was very pleasant. They go on appointment only & that is no lie, I was a few min early so I waited for my appointment but they were right on time. The girl who did my pedi must rent her spot from the owner, or something to that degree, because she had her own tools & seemed to be independent. Nothing wrong with that. She did a very good job & I work from home so it was nice to have people to talk to & there was another customer there who was a talker, so that was nice.
The only con & the reason for 4 stars is the price. It is very pricy & I would never go here if I didn’t have the Unilocal coupon. $ 40 for a pedi, $ 40 for a mani. So that means you’d be out $ 80 bucks for both + tip! Thats crazy expensive. There was nothing about my pedi that screemed $ 40 to me! Nothing that a $ 20 + tip place doesn’t provide.
So to each his own. You can be broke but have great looking toes or still have some coin in your pocket & have great looking toes. Either way.

I found this salon through Unilocal,read the reviews, bought the coupon ($ 20 for $ 40 worth of services), and decided to give it a try. What I liked about this salon is that it was very clean, it is by appointment-​only, and I felt like I had a salon quality manicure and pedicure. I will say, the only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars is the price — it’s a bit more expensive than the traditional nail shops, which initially caught me off guard. However, given the cleanliness and level of expertise, I would say it’s justified.

Worst Service Ever!
Twisted Sisters was the worst nail job I have ever had. My friend and I both got shellac in which they skipped steps only taking about 15 minutes. There were limited choices on nail colors as well as lack of friendliness. Within two days, my nails began to peel and I was forced to removed my $ 40 nail job in three days. I do not recommend!

The service and quality of product were second to none. I will go back.
