Where do you go when you need cheeses, wines, liquors, and beers? HERE! Make sure to give yourself extra time especially for your first visit.
So, truth be told, I used to work here about ohhhh, 20 years ago! Yikes!!! I haven’t been by in years. Why? I don’t know and that’s going to change. This store is still ever so awesome with its genuine friendly staff, never ending samples offerings, and great vibes.
The store may seem overwhelming to a newbie. But take a deep breath and (grab a cart) start perusing the outer perimeter of the store. You’ll find so many unique jams, crackers, sauces, candies, cookies, and gadgets! THEN, turn your cart and head into the beer room. I’m pretty sure if it’s made, they have it. Aisles and rows of specialty beers. (Note our cart is already pretty full at this point)!
Back into the main room, WINE! They categorize the wines by region and near the back they categorize them by type. Best of both worlds for a beginner and experienced wine enthusiast. They still carry my favorite semi sweet, crisp, refreshing sparkling wine here!
Ok. Now, on to the cheese! This is where I spent my time when I worked here. And it’s still awesome. If you ask them what a certain cheese is like, they open it up and give you a sample. YES! We ended up with 6 or 7 different kinds of cheese to take home with us (we will be inviting others over soon to assist with consumption!) They also have a great meat and olive selection as well.
Then on your way to check out, you finally see all the chocolates, specialty candies, and freshly roasted nuts.
We unloaded our cart and packed up the car. I felt very happy to have gone back and indulged in their offerings.
I’ll be a regular as a customer!

Excellent selection, and great sraff. Check their blog regularly to see any new editions to their stock. Fantastic prices. What else could you ask for?

Insanely helpful, in store, on website. They always go above and beyond to help find whatever beer you’re looking for, only wish more stores were like TWCP!

Hands down the best place in STL… Yes, they have the best recommendations for wine, beer (YEAH, beer too), and cheese.

This place is sweet. Great selection of craft beer, scotches, whiskeys and wines. Small deli selection with expensive fancy imported cheese. Staff knows what they are talking about.

I purchased a Johnnie Walker gift pack for my husband for Christmas. I was worried about ordering long distance but I knew my husband would love it. The gift arrived well packed with material around the bottles so they wouldn’t move around. An adult signature was needed to pick up so I had it shipped to the nearest FedEx Shipping location. It couldn’t have been easier. The gift was the envy of his friends. I would buy from them again.

We are regular customers of the Ballas store. We love W&C! They have just about everything in the way of alcoholic beverages and cheeses, but if by slim chance they don’t have what you are looking for, they will get it. Mark, the Manager, is awesome. He is always available for suggestions, recommendations, etc. To top it all off, their prices can’t be beat. Be sure to take advantage of 10% off any mixed case of wine!

My friend did not believe me about the name. It wasn’t until I sent him the link that he realized it WAS the name and not that I couldn’t think of the name.
Anyway, my friend dragged me here liquor shopping in March or April. I dragged my boyfriend here for beer over the summer. THey have a great selection of canned beers (pineapple hefeweisssen for the win!) which is great for float trips or pool parties! They have a great selection in general. It’s pretty much my go to place when I want to try something new!

Excellent selection! They have tequilas, liquors, and beers that I have not seen readily available at any other places in St louis! Awesome selection, and prices! convenient location right near the ⁶⁴⁄₄₀ right off of foresyth near clayton!

This shop was well stocked with a great variety, a young and knowledgeable staff, and was well-​illuminated. I wandered the aisles, amused some of the names on the labels, and impressed with the selection before us. I had a few questions, all of which were answered. I considered it a good shopping experience and, if I lived in the vicinity (I do not) I would shop there as often as necessary to entertain.

In St. Louis on a business trip and wanted to grab some craft beers I can’t get back home. After reading the Unilocal and RateBeer reviews of beer stores in St. Louis, decided on this one. Good, easy to find location. Very nice selection of craft beers in the back of the store. Mostly warm, which is a good thing for the traveler who has no cooler. But there were also several coolers worth of beers too. Very small selection of singles and signs on the shelves asking not to break up six packs, which is a definite con to this place. Mostly stuff I can get back home, (which is great to see Louisville is pulling in so many different breweries). But they did have Firestone Walker Brewery and Ska Brewery, which is a huge plus! And a great selection of local St. Louis breweries. Prices were pretty much average, (American craft beer ranging from $ 6 — $ 10 for a 22 oz bomber, $ 9 — $ 12 for a six pack). Bought about $ 70 worth of beer, could have easily spent twice that. Didn’t engage the staff in much chat, but the checkout guy was friendly enough and took the time to help me get all of my beer purchases into a couple of case boxes. I’ll certainly stop in again next time I am in town.

I cannot come up with enough good things to say about this place. Karen from Cicero’s suggests this place during Beer School often. I went to check it out for the first time about a year ago. This is now my #1 spot to grab beer, wine and fine cheese. The selection of craft beer they carry is phenomenal. They sort their brews by state and keep about 3 coolers worth of chilled beer. There are about 4 shelves full of other non-​chilled craft beer. Stop in on a Friday evening and try the beers on the barrel for free.
Wine lover? The entire front of the store (approx. 2000 sq. feet) is filled with varietals of wine from the finest regions including Napa, Spain, France and Italy. They have a HUGE cooler filled with fine cheese which they liberally offer samples of.
If you are a cocktail maniac, they have you covered, as well. There are a few shelves filled with exotic bitters, mixers, apéritifs, and pickled garnishes. Be sure to check out their collection of spirits and airplane bottles at check out. They also carry random gems of goodness, including maple syrups, finger foods and honey.
The only downside is that they close at 7 p.m. I can’t be mad at them for this though, because when you’re surrounded by so many delectable treats and libations, you need time to enjoy them!

What a cool place… who knew one would find this in some completely random location in St. Louis. Oh and the name is a misnomer, it should really be called the «Wine, Cheese, Local Craft Beer, Really hard to find Foreign Craft Beer, Scotch, Other Tipples, and etc. Place»
Most of my time here has been spent with their beer collection. I would characterize their stock of local microbreweries, domestic US craft beers, and foreign craft beers to be pretty excellent. I’m especially impressed with their Trappist collection, as you can get a pretty astonishing set of beers here. I have not seen this selection of Trappist beers anywhere outside of Belgium.
Their wine and scotch collections are both quite extensive with everything from reasonably price entry-​level options to pricey, rare, and esoteric. I didn’t see any Pappy there, but it’s pretty good otherwise.
The staff, while sometimes spread a bit thin, are super friendly and willing to help you out when they get a chance. Each of them know their business in their particular areas, and I felt very happy to patronize their business.
My only problem with this place? Getting out of there before I buy too much!

one of my favorite places in st. louis, hands down. all you need for a balanced diet is beer, sausage, and cheese, so this place has you covered.
it’s called the wine and cheese place, but there’s also just an amazing selection of craft beer here. occasionally, distributors or breweries will be sampling new beers. every one who works here is helpful but not clingy, so you can stand and look in awe without feeling like an idiot.
meat. cheese. do it. wide, smart selections in both those categories. i love the point reyes blue and that they carry cheese from cowgirl creamery. i do wish they would carry more local selections of salumi (salume beddu?).

An excellent selection, great staff, and almost Sam’s club pricing. What more do you need.
I have been a regular customer for a few years now. I am primarily a Scotch and Bourbon drinker. If you want to go dizzy looking for the perfect bottle, the 200 or so on the wall should do it. Are you interested in something a little more esoteric? It is probably there. Want a $ 20 bottle? $ 40? $ 200. There is a selection at every price range.
About two years ago, The Wine & Cheese Place started purchasing barrels of Bourbon to be bottled exclusively for them. I have purchased a few of these and they are great whiskies at great prices.
Wines, beers, other liquors, it is the same. A huge selection clearly marked and a wide price range. I have found the staff more than knowledgeable on the products. But then, I don’t need to know if the grape picker was left handed for this particular bottle of Riesling.
Do yourself a favor and get on their mailing list. People are amazed when I tell them that I was at a wine, beer, or Scotch tasting and it was free. Finding out you really don’t care for a $ 200 bottle of Scotch is much better after a sip than after the purchase. I did discover such, much to my wife’s relief.

The store is pretty hidden off the road and hard to find if you aren’t specifically looking for it. But once you do locate it, be prepared to stay awhile and browse all the goodies.
The beer selection is great. I was able to find a black IPA that I had about two years ago but haven’t seen since. That made my day. The focus here is craft beers but there was a decent import section as well.
There are wines galore and they are very well organized. We got a bottle of Cabernet that had a good rating. Can’t wait to try it!
The cheese counter was impressive. I have never seen so many different kinds of cheeses. It was a bit intimidating since I’m not that knowledgable about cheese. There is also a big selection of other snack items that are unique and would be great if you are hosting a get together.
Only one visit and I am in love with this place and I will totally be back!

HUGE selection of everything you could want. This place has wine & cheese (obvious, no?) but it also has beer, liquor, and other food items and drinking paraphernalia. I usually end up settling for whatever I can find at my local grocery store but, when I need something specific, this is my go-​to place. The staff are really, really knowledgeable, too.

Great selection of craft beer and liquor. I needed a bottle of tequila that wasn’t too expensive but not cheap either. they have IT ALL! The beer selection is impressive also. I didn’t get a look at time wines but i did see them packaging up some bottles for a woman. It looks like they keep empty boxes in case you’re ordering a larger quantity. Nice staff.

ONLINE ORDER: Hey it’s no surprise that Wyoming isn’t a mecca for craft beer lovers… Although getting better, more selection in this town is needed. That’s what leads me to find places like The Wine & Cheese place to send me those ‘hard to get’ craft beers that I can’t find anywhere near here.
I placed my order on Saturday and received my shipment on Thursday… I couldn’t ask for quicker service. This order and previous orders have always gone seamlessly, any questions or problems are quickly resolved by email.
I would love to stop in one day to see the store…

This is my go-​to store when I’m looking for a good beer. It seems strange, since you’d think I’d come here for, you know, wine and/​or cheese, but I gotta say, their beer selection is seriously impressive. They’ve got bottles from all the local breweries, and a hefty assortment of import bottles too. As a regular at Cicero’s beer school, The Wine and Cheese Place is one of the few places that reliably has whatever was sampled that week.
I’m the first to admit that I know close to nothing about wine, but the staff here have always been friendly and helpful. They helped me pick out a «cheap, but doesn’t taste TOO cheap» bottle of wine for a party that I was satisfied by.
They have free beer tastings on Friday afternoons, and free wine tastings on Saturday. They’ve also got a great Twitter feed that gives updates on special beers that are going on sale.
