If you have a themed party coming up, stop by here. I told the store employee the theme of my upcoming party and he directed me to the area I needed to be. He stayed with me to look at the dresses and make suggestions. The suggestions were so spot on that the first dress I tried on was ‘the one’. Next we picked matching shoes, a couple accessories and bam! I was set. They also matched my husband up with a suit to boot.
You can rent or buy here your outfits here, but the best thing is to just let them take care of you and show you around to make it an easy breezy quick experience.

We’ve been swing dancing three times, and have decided it’s time to aim at the proper look. Service here was attentive and personal. We received vintage clothing education and advice, and left with the makings of a couple outfits: a blue dress for Therese H., a silk tie and pinstriped slacks for John H. (which I ended up putting together with a pink herringbone-​patterned French-​cuffed shirt, old Lord Newport cufflinks, and a new silver silk vest). Look out, dance floor, here we come.

Every time I’m home visiting family, a stop at the Vintage Haberdashery is one of the first things on my to-​do list. The store is always clean & very well-​organized, & the staff is professional & courteous. I’ve always been greeted upon arrival, but they pretty much just let me roam freely & do my own thing without the constant hovering that comes with some shopping experiences.
This place has a great collection of men & women’s clothing, as well as a smörgåsbord of hats & accessories. Everything ranges from casual to formal, & it’s easy to pick up some casual swing skirts & a gorgeous prom dress in the same trip. The prices here are very fair, & merchandise is in great condition & marked with the correct sizes. I haven’t rented a costume from here yet, but always take the time to browse the racks & let my mind wander whenever I stop in.
If you’re looking for a vintage everyday outfit or a unique statement piece for a special event, this is the perfect place to shop. Your money will be well spent & you’ll love browsing this special store.

Okay, vintage party, costumes, wigs, great hats, crazy go go boots – they have it all here! I bought a great hat for 22 $ and my friend rented one for her upcoming derby party. We had good service and it was quick and easy.

One of my favorite Vintage shops in St Louis! I come in here whenever I am in town and never leave empty-​handed. When I flip through my closet and think of my favorite dresses, I can trace half of them back to this awesome store. In fact, I think I got my very first vintage dress here back in High School!
The prices here are a little higher than some other spots in St. Louis, but the quality of their pieces more than justifies it. They are not the biggest shop, but they are incredibly well curated, and everything they have is stellar quality. The staff is always really helpful and friendly, and the place is bright and open, so you don’t feel as cramped as you do in some other stores where you can barely flip through the racks. I love it here!

Quality selections and decent prices for good vintage clothing. The attendant was also very helpful!

Swoony little shop with a wide collection of vintage clothing, mostly women’s, but a considerable men’s selection as well. Beautiful accessories — the hats are so fanciful!
I love their collection of dresses and intense costume collection! Lots of gloves, props, eyewear and accessories — I know they even do rentals, which are expensive, but beautiful, definitely scores above the standard Johnny Brock’s look you’ll see for Halloween. One of my favorite shops in STL!

I am surprised this store is still in business– for the people who work here act as if they don’t wish to sell any of their clothes.
The women who occupy this store are pretentious and rude. Upon requesting to try on a dress, that appeared to be my size, they asked to measure my waist. I figured that was a standard procedure, but still it was an embarrassing thing to ask in front of my boyfriend and male-​friend. Post-​measuring the cashiere added two inches to my waist when talking about it to the owner-​and aloud in the store (for I saw the final measuring result).
She then refused to take the dress down explaining to me that it had «no pull» to it.
I am very confident in my weight, but had I obtained any less self-​esteem, this display of rudeness would have ruined my day. For the sake of the audience reading, I am a size four.
I then left the store without trying the dress on.
In a rage, and behind my back, my boyfriend devised a plan to purchase the dress knowing that it would fit me. He contacted his very petite neighbor to see if she would buy the dress for me– since she is a size 0. Upon inquiring about the dress, the ladies at the store gave her the same run-​around (measured her waist coupled with a disapproving stare-​down). Reluctantly, they took down the dress and let her try it on.
I arrived home from work one night to find the dress on my bed (what a nice guy huh?) Of course, it fit perfectly– or should i say more than perfectly. I was even a little big. I was very pleased with the kindness of my boyfriend, but honestly a little mad that he supported that business at all.
I also work in the customer service business, and I cannot imagine how this store stays open with a poor mentality and common-​sense towards customers. So if you are into going to a store that is literally constantly sizing you up-​this is the place for you. I cannot wait to send a postcard with a picture of me in the dress to the store.

What a lovely vintage shop. I’ve been to lots of vintage stores, and this place was great for several reasons:
1) They have well-​organized sections according to decade, and they had some really beautiful pieces going all the way back to the 1920s.
2) The place was obviously clean and well-​kept with none of that musty smell you sometimes get with a collection of vintage clothes in a confined space. The clothes were in great condition and well-​preserved.
3) The service (one nice girl at the counter) was helpful but not over-​bearing and explained their rental section and terms very nicely.
4) They do rentals and clothes for purchase, and the prices for both were very reasonable. Example: One 1960s shift I had my eye on was in perfect condition for $ 39, and they had a selection of original and truly beautiful beaded 1920s flapper dresses for rent for around $ 75 per weekend.
This is not the kind of used clothing store that simply slaps the name «vintage» on their window, so if you’re looking for TRUE vintage or costume rentals they would definitely fit the bill.

This place was very cute. Oddly the largest section of the store is rentals, so was unaccessible. The rest of the selection was small, well curated & priced ok. Seems like everything was hand picked & in really great condition. I would definitely check it out again.

So I went on my virgin vintage shopping trip last weekend, hitting 4 stores, and I really liked this one. I didn’t buy anything, but I’m not really sure what I was expecting and was a little overwhelmed looking through the racks. I’m so picky about clothes that the chances I will find something I like on the rack that is in my size AND looks good on me is SLIM. That said, I will definitely stop back in and browse next time I’m on Morgan Ford.

Really amazing store!
My friend Lindsay suggested I check them out when I told her I needed a 1920s flapper dress for a party. I had previously purchased a dress that would have done the trick from a popular vintage-​inspired clothing website but I decided I’d check out this store’s selection and boy I’m glad I did. The entire «left» half of the store is rental only and they have so much amazing stuff. Real zoot suits. Real and reproduction dresses. Cute hats and fascinators, most of which are originals!
Yes, I was in clothing heaven. And I didn’t even really fully browse their for-​sale selection yet. I plan to return (well I have to anyway to pick up my rental dress!) but in the meantime I will dream of their beautiful vintage selection and look forward to my next trip! :D
Also the store girl was really sweet and helpful when I forgot my hat in the changing room and had to drive back for it. Haha! :)

Love. A variety of well-​maintained vintage stock, great prices, and wonderful staff. They are always getting in new pieces and the staff is always very helpful. They will spend a lot of time helping you find the right clothing and accessories for the look you are going for. So, if you need a costume, highly recommended! When they didn’t have something I needed they even referred me to another store. Anyway, check it out I’m sure you will find something!

I’d give them 6 stars if I could!!! It probably seemed even better since I came here right after a horrific experience at Remember Me or whatever it was called (ironically, not sure I remember the name). What a pleasant shopping experience! It was a rainy day and I escaped into this beautiful world for a number of hours. I don’t want to butcher the spelling of her name, b/​c I’m not sure, but the sweetest, loveliest girl works there and was so helpful. The shop doesn’t smell like the vintage shops that are off-​putting to the non-​vintage devotees. The store is well organized. The items are all quality, and tons of my favorite eras (30s-​50s). I hit the mother lode here and found the prices all incredibly reasonable! Anyone who kvetches about pricing hasn’t gotten on ebay lately. I got some fantastic dresses that I am mad in love with! It was like an enjoyable afternoon amongst friends. I can’t wait to come back to St. Louis to visit here again! What a pleasure. This shop is up there with Elizabeth’s of Louisville and I’m adding it to my list of favorite vintage resources. muaa, ladies!

Wow, I had no idea this place just moved… I thought it closed… The point is, I was obsessed with The Vintage Haberdashery as a young child. Living over on Pestalozzi, I used to walk to this place at the age of 10. The owner helped me pick out numerous Halloween costumes over the years (I remember being Groucho Marx, a Bobby Soxer, and a majorette).
Good to know the Haberdashery is still open. I’ll definitely make a stop in on my next trip back to St. Louis!

I found a bright salmon pink polyester Lacoste dress here (see photo in profile). In perfect condition for something manufactured around the time Nixon was in office. Every time I wear it, I get stopped and complimented ridiculously often, and someone tried to buy it off me once. This place is seriously worth your time if you’re an avid vintage shopper. It’s vintageous!

This place is a ton of fun! Any filmmakers/​students in the area should keep this place in mind for costumes as you can rent or buy. The Vintage Haberdashery has a TON of costumes from as early as the 1800s, and goes up to the 1980s. Therefore, if you need a costume, or — like me — are just a bit strange, you should definitely check this place out for all your old-​time clothing needs.
Everything is clean and it’s not real dusty in this cute little shop. The staff is friendly and willing to help should you need them. They carry both men and women’s clothing, plus accessories.

Fun selection of clothing 40s-​80s to buy plus a huge rental section. Keep it in mind if you’re on the look out for fun vintage. Some items were pricey, but there were deals to be found including a great 80s sparkle dress for my hipster costume ($ 20), a 40s style cocktail dress ($ 25), and an irresistible-​y ridiculous faux leather vest ($ 10).
Good times were had.

A bit pricier than the competition, but worth browsing for a collection that’s been more carefully selected.
