I’m giving this 3 stars because of its potential, not because of where it is right now. Let me contextualize. We went because it was advertised in a guide book(and in its name!) as a dessert bar. They only had 3 desserts on a Saturday night, and they were 3 different types of cheesecake, and it wasn’t even certain that they were made in house. It is under new ownership, and when we arrived at 9 it was very quiet, with nothing remarkable on the menu. The hostess explained they were under new management and hadn’t printed new menus yet. I was wavering, as I really loved the décor. The owner came up, reiterated the $ 5 cover, and said, «We’d really love to have you.» Well, as a small business owner to another, she had me. I knew her heart was in the right place. We enjoyed some dj music as the place started to fill up. The smell of fried chicken was in the air as a soul/jazz live band started up and started rocking the place. I think if they can get some desserts in here, they’re going to be great. Our bartender/waiter was very attentive despite being very busy. As an additional note, this place is very mono-ethnic, so if you are uncomfortable in such a situation, this isn’t the place for you. If you’ve never been in a situation like that and you want to challenge yourself, come here.

Me & my boyfriend decided to hold our birthday bash here. I wasn’t too pleased with the service upon arrival because no one knew what was going on. But after we worked out the kinks I loved it! The food delicious, the drinks, delicious, the cake which was made by one of the managers I believe, delicious! Our waitress was a very nice young lady that had a nice personality. Our family & friends really enjoyed themselves. I would definately hold another bash here, but, I would make sure those kinks are finalized before arrival.

We visited the InSpot on a Saturday night around nine. It was crowded and had a great feel(cool décor and a dj mixing some chill music). I do have to admit, the place was a bit hard to find. However, what stood out for our group was the desserts — WOW!!! We tried a cheesecake, red velvet cake and a chocolate cake. They were all amazing!!! My husband ordered a layered red velvet cake. Now for full disclosure, I am not a big fan of red velvet cake. In fact, I downright don’t like it! However, when I tried a bite of the InSpot’s red velvet cake, I never wanted to pass the plate back to him. It was one of the most delicious, flavorful, decadent cakes I have tasted in a long time. Our friends loved their desserts, too. So while we can’t comment on much else, we can say for sure, if you get a cake dessert at the InSpot, you will be a very happy guest.

Went here on a Saturday night with my mom and sister for a girls night. I arrived at 7pm and was the first person there! They open at 6, so I guess I was sort of early? About half an hour later, the place really started to pick up, and the band got on stage around 8pm. More on the band later. We weren’t super hungry, so we decided to split and appetizer, drink, and dessert. Appetizer: we went with the brown sugar sticky wings. None of us enjoyed this. The flavor was okay(although not very brown sugar like), but the wings themselves were very fatty and slimy. Ew. I only had a bite of a wing and couldn’t go on. Drink: The sweet pineapple martini sounded tasty, but it was just okay. It was very strong, but the pineapple taste was definitely there. I suppose I’m just not a martini person, because every martini I’ve had(regardless of location) has always been too strong. If you’re a martini fan, you’d probably like this. Dessert: We went with the fried cheesecake, which I thought was delicious, but my mom and sister weren’t huge fans. It came with a delicious strawberry drizzle that was to die for! The atmosphere was super chic and clean. It definitely had a lounge-y feel. The waitress was nice, but seemed overwhelmed. Why is there only ONE waitress(but FOUR bartenders) at this place? Weird. When we asked her about a particular wine(and requested to see the bottle), she snapped that she was ‘too busy’ to show us. She eventually did show us the bottle of wine, but her curtness was a HUGE turnoff. The band was good(very smooth and jazzy), but WAY too loud. If they would have turned it down a couple notches, I could have stayed here all night to listen to them. But by the end of dessert, my head was ringing so badly that I just wanted to LEAVE. Would I come back to the In Spot? I probably wouldn’t make a special trip back here. On top of being not so tasty, the food was sort of expensive! 7 bucks for 5 mini chicken wings, 7 bucks for 2 bites of cheesecake?!? It was like tapas. Stephanie is not a huge fan of small plates! Part of me really wants this little place to succeed. It definitely has potential. But it’s not there yet. P. S. If you suck at parallel parking like me, there’s a huge parking lot behind the building.

The selection of desserts & tea were tiny! The molten lava cake was good. I didn’t like the fact that they didn’t have green or white or even oolong tea. The fact that they had only 1 waitress on a Saturday night bothered me. They should have had 2 or 3, although the servers could place your orders. Ambience was great. Prices weren’t too bad. Parking can be a pain. The band was ok, but a bit too loud. I don’t understand how anyone can hear anyone other than the band music.

«I do apologize, but we are out of that» was the theme of our visit to the«Drizzle» as we called it, but is also known as «The In Spot». The disappointing thing about our trip was that it seemed like this place had a lot of good stuff to try, unfortunately they were out of most of it: everything from the wine to some of the desserts. The lounge had a cool feel and they played some really good music. When we did get our order finally figured out, the result was just average. I had the ice cream with extra drizzle, and it was pretty good, but nothing that blew me away. This place had a strange aroma to it, kind like a mixture of new construction and B.O. I hate writing negative reviews, but I have to be honest: I don’t think I’ll be back to the drizzle any time soon.

One of the sweetest places on the loop. The environment is very classy and upscale, yet laid back — exactly what you’d expect from a lounge. The food and alcohol are good, and they frequently have events and live music that are cool too.
