History

Established in 2008.

The Fountain On Locust, 3037 Locust, Midtown, is a one-of a-kind Art Deco gem in the city. Nationally syndicated radio comedy personality Joy Grdnic, took a boarded up former 1916 Stutz Car Dealership on Historic Automotive Row and worked on the interior for over two years creating the pendant lampshades and handpainting the soaring wall murals to stay true to the historic integrity of the era and the feel of an art deco soda fountain. Try the Polish Dill Pickle soup. Or the World’s Smallest Hot Fudge Sundae. In addition to the wonderful food, The Fountain On Locust boasts the only restaurant radio comedy serial, «Soap Hospital» playing continuously in the west side booths.

Meet the Business Owner

Joy G.

Business Owner

Joy has been known to St Louis from the age of 17 when she became the youngest female on-air radio personality in the country as KSHE’s «Joy in the Morning.» Now, more surprised than anyone that she is no longer 17, Joy contributes daily to ONSTL.com with her video segment dubbed «What’s Joy Thinking?» Joy maintains she may not be right, but she knows what she’s talking about. Joy also can be found at The Fountain on Locust, the restaurant she created for St. Louis in Midtown.
