Temptor Salon

I knew Corey before he opened up his own salon. I followed him here even though it’s 30 minutes away from when I live. He is that good at cutting my Asian hair. He is also incredibly friendly and helpful. Got to know him as a person and meet his dog too! Whenever my gf visited me from California, I would bring her to get her haircut with Corey as well. Highly recommended!

We have been here two times. The first time was for a massage, and it was good, but about average. However, the second time we went was a nightmare from beginning to end, and the reason we will never go back.
We won a pair of gift certificates to this place, one for a couples massage, the other for a haircut. Having been there for a massage and already having a place we go for haircut, we focused on getting the massage. Our gift certificates were only good for 1 month after we received them, which we found unusual. I asked the person who worked there if we could use them after the expiration date and he said that would be fine. After all, we had made an appointment, and were scheduled to come in for our massages. Unfortunately, we had to change the appointment. Multiple times. This was a major problem because Temptor Salon does not answer their phone. They also do not reply via email. So basically, every time we had to change our appointment, I had to physically go there. Once, I even went and they were closed, despite the fact that they were supposed to be open that day. We eventually got them scheduled, and went. Of course, at this point, it had been so difficult to deal with them I mainly wanted to keep this appointment so as to not have to deal with having to change it again.
When I got there for my massage, I found out that a couples massage is not what I thought it was. It was not the two of us in a room getting a massage at the same time. Instead, it is them massaging one person, then when that is done, massaging the other. So basically couples massage at Temptor Salon = 2 back to back massages for 2 different people. The person who massaged me was extremely talkative, which did not mesh well with the relaxing atmosphere I expected for the massage. Also, despite the fact that it was supposed to be an hour long, they cut mine short by at least 5 minutes. The massage was good, but I know the person massaging me missed some areas in a way that can only be attributed to carelessness. The experience did not have lasting effects on me, and 2 – 3 hours later I felt the same way I always did.
I was the first to receive a massage. My girlfriend followed me and we met up later. She said that she had a similar experience, and echoed what I said about the talkative masseuse. She also said that they would not honor our gift certificates. They had previously told me they would honor them, even though they were expired. But when the time came to cash them in, they wouldnt and we had to pay out of pocket, negating any relaxing effect from the massage itself. We vowed never to go back and threw the gift certificates for haircuts in the garbage.
We will never go back here again. It was a major pain to deal with them, they are not that good, and they lied to us. All in all, the best thing about this place is that its next door to the Perennial Brewery, which is a good thing, because after dealing with Temptor, you’ll need a drink.

I had a great massage here once but since then, I’ve tried calling countless times to schedule an appointment but no one EVER answers (and yes, I call during business hours). There are so many other salons in the area with equally good service, there’s no use in wasting time trying to go here again.

Had a problem with the first go around but Cory the owner called and made it right. Very humble and sincere. Looking forward to the visit.

Returned to the salon because the salon owner offered me a free massage since my first experience was awful. Thought that was very nice. Maggie is much better and did a nice job. Still it is not a 5 star salon. I am very picky and felt this place was not tranquil nor luxurious enough to warrant 5 stars. But, the salon is very clean and welcoming.

Don’t bother going here for a massage. I frequently get massages and by far this was the worst place and the worst massage I’ve had. I am new to the St. Louis area and decided to buy a groupon for $ 29 for a 60 minute massage. When I walked in the place looks trendy and cute but the vibe was all but pleasant. The receptionist was talking to a coworker about how the massage therapist was going to be mad she had four back to back appointments, there was a lot of back and fourth comments about what to do about the situation and how the massage therapist was going to be pissed. I was called in by the massage therapist a couple minutes after my scheduled time. From the time the therapist came into the room to the time she told me she was finished was 40 minutes. So basically she rushed my massage for what? A break? Don’t bother going, not worth it, I won’t be back.

Had such a good experience here, I signed up for Unilocal just to review this place! My masseuse today was Sharell — she was professional, friendly, and wonderful at her job! She found knots in my shoulders and neck that I didn’t even know existed. She also explained to me after how to treat an ongoing problem I’ve had with my left shoulder. And the massage was only $ 29 for an hour!
Hint: Skip the groupon and go straight to the company website — first time customers get the same $ 29 for 60 min deal.

Purchased the Groupon deal for a 90 minute massage! It was worth every penny!
The actual massage was wonderful– No complaints there.
The location was a little out of the way for me… I thought it was closer to downtown than it actually was. Probably wouldn’t make the drive again.

One of my favorite salons in St.Louis. Not only do they have awesome massage therapists, they have awesome hair stylists too! Corey and Derek take so much pride in their work. Doing hair is not only their career but their passion! I would recommend them to anyone. 5 Stars!

Brought my 2 friends here for their birthday for all three of us to get a massage. We’re from out of town and from the moment I made the phone call to the moment we walked out of the salon, we received wonderul, friendly – and I mean FRIENDLY, five-​star service. We all agreed our massage therapists, Rick and Lauren, are amazing at what they do. Corey was nice and sweet and offered us a drink while filling up forms. Next time we’re in St. Louis, we’re for sure going to have an appointment booked with these guys!

Got an excellent cut on tricky hair. the place looks really nice but the prices are fair. I’ll be going back, in fact I already scheduled a massage!

Sweet deal! No really, I bought my roommate and I a Groupon for massages because we are so tense about graduating and becoming «adults». It was around $ 56 for the two 60 minute massage deal and I couldn’t pass it up, so we scheduled our massages (one at 2pm and one at 3pm because only one masseuse is on at a time).
On the day of our massages, we got phone calls to confirm our appointments which I thought was very thoughtful. We drove out to Carondelet, which is a little out of the way, but once we got there, it’s located right next to Perennial Brewery – massages and a beer? Perfection.
When we walked inside the guy at the reception counter knew us by name and greeted us with a lot of energy. There was another person there getting their hair done but besides that – we were getting all of their attention. The inside is concrete (but they have the temperature just right), paisley black and white on the walls and a red/​black theme that is very modern and trendy. We were offered a beverage as we filled out our forms and they chatted with us the whole time. Since this spot has only been open since January, I was impressed, they truly go above and beyond with customer service. They offered me a free tan while I waited for my massage, held doors open for me, and truly gave me 5 star service.
When I got my massage, I requested medium to firm pressure and wow was she spot on. The room was nice and dim, with relaxing music. She worked each and every knot, tense spot and muscle. I wouldn’t say it was «relaxing» because of the pressure but I felt So great once she was done. She asked if the pressure was on point and focused on my shoulders and back like I requested; she was extremely thorough and I felt like I got a spectacular massage for the price I paid.
Both my friend and I can’t wait to go back and continue giving them our local support!
