This building is quite small, but inside, there are literally thousands of books here. I could find at least dozens of books on history and science. As well, many good authors are found here, including Anne Rice. As well, there are half a dozen shelves of movies. Yes, good modern movies that you can borrow for free. Granted, these are DVD movies, but are you going to argue about the price of nothing? In addition, catty-corner the dvd section there is another shelve where you can also get some pretty snazzy music on CDs that you can borrow. The library also has some pretty friendly faces. And, add to the fact that there are always some kind of class going on in the computer rooms. This place is highly recommended if you want to save on some cash and have a habit of reading.

I’ll let you in on a little secret about myself that many may not know, i love to read(okay, that is sometimes everyone whom knows me can tell you!). I love, love, love to delve into a good book and whisk away the world at large. It helps to have a place that has a wide selection of books available for me to do so, and guess what this place fits the bill. Not only do they have plenty of books, but if it’s not there at the moment(which usually happens when I want to read something, someone has the same idea!) You can surf their easy peasy website and get it sent to one of the many librarys in the county, free of charge! I actually do like using the e-books that they have as well. It’s easy and pain free. I have to say that this place is never empty, there is always something going on and some of the nicest staff around who will listen to you but give some ideas for anything you have in mind!

I’ll admit, before Borders shut its doors, I hadn’t set foot in a library since college. The lack of coffee, 1400 calorie muffins and bearded hipsters judging my stack of Cat Fancy magazines just didn’t appeal to me. Then I visited the St. Louis County Library and all that changed. This library has EVERYTHING. Old books. New books. New new books. Magazines. Music. A great DVD selection, and even material for your e-reader, if you’re into that sort of thing. This library is on top of things. Want to read Tina Fey’s book? It’s there. Want to check out Eat Pray Love? I’m sorry for you, but it’s there. I rented Horrible Bosses last weekend. FORFREE. Your move, Redbox. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, the inter-library loan system is an easy, painless way to get whatever you want pretty quickly. I swear a little genie lives in that computer and just finds ways to make your dreams come true. Also, thanks to their online system, I have remained library fine free for two whole months. They’ll send you email reminders when your books are due and when your requested material is ready to pick up. It’s a big deal. If chain bookstores have killed your love for the public library over the years, I highly recommend you visit one and put the spark back in your literary life. You don’t have to say you’re sorry, and it won’t say I told you so.
