Amazing! Yes the wait was long, but I think its because they took so much time with my daughter when she got int there! It’s so personal~you don’t feel like just a number! That was the most important thing! I’ve always had great experiences with St. Anthony’s and this was another one! Can’t wait to have my grandchild here to love! And Angela and Rachel made her feel so much more relaxed about everything!

I’ve visited St. Anthony’s Perinatal Center twice so far in my pregnancy — for a first trimester genetic pre-screening as well as a follow up from my mid-pregnancy ultrasound. Once you get past a long-ish wait, the staff there is really fantastic. At the first trimester screening, I met with a genetic counselor first, and she was very thorough with a description of what they were looking for, my odds, how the results process would work, and answering any questions I may have. The ultrasound technician and doctor were very professional and friendly during the following ultrasound. For my second visit, I was sent by my doctor to the Perinatal Center to take a closer look at my baby’s umbilical cord. They were able to verify that my baby does indeed have a single umbilical artery, and they did a thorough follow up scan just as my doctor’s office had done to make sure there were no other concerning markers. The technician was very good at explaining to me what we were looking at, reassuring me if she lingered in any one spot that it didn’t necessarily mean anything bad, etc. They did have a hard time getting a good look at the heart and were concerned there could be an abnormality. Nothing a pregnant woman ever wants to hear, but they were quick to schedule me an appointment with a pediatric cardiologist and assure me that chances were there was nothing wrong, and I just needed a better look. I thought they really went above and beyond comforting an upset patient, and I really felt their concern and caring was honest. How often do you get a hug from a doctor? It turns out that the baby’s heart is fine(Thank God!), but I’ll be returning to the Perinatal Center on a monthly basis to track growth due to the umbilical cord issue. I’m very confident with the staff and doctors there, and that I’ll continue to get great care.
