History
Established in 2009.
The Special Solutions concept — working directly with the parents of children with learning challenges came from founder and retired Special Education teacher, Shelley B Smith. It was refined into a business plan through the YouthBridge Social Entreprise and Innovation Competition (SEIC) at Washington University’s Skandalaris Center for Entrpreneurial Studies.
Like many start-ups, it was run out of our house in the beginning but is now conveniently located in a professional office building in Brentwood.
