Southside True Value Hardware

Everytime I stop in they are always quick to assist and help no matter how much or little you are spending. You don’t see much old school service like this anymore and I’ll continue to support this local business over the big box retailers anytime I can.

This place is great! It really has an old-​timey small town hardware store feel and smell when you walk in. They do repairs on screen doors and windows, and will also service yard equipment. The screen on my screen door was torn up and in pretty sad shape. I popped the frame out and they replaced the screen for a few bucks; it looked as good as new. I also an old black and decker hedge trimmer that they sharpened (I had no idea this was even an option!). It cut through my shrubs like butter when they were done!

The employees of Southside True Value Hardware are truly the nicest and most helpful of any business I’ve been to in South City. This is my first stop before ever trying g any big box store. They have any even let me borrow tools before. Great south city gem.

My son and I came to the store looking for a glass for our front door. Lowe’s doesn’t cut glass and wasn’t very helpful at all, and it took forever to get some assistance just to tell us that. Anyway, we were given a suggestion to come to a True Value store, so we did. This is the most down home old school hardware from back in the day that brings back memories, with the most informational, helpful and attentive customer service in THE WORLD!!! They really made my son and I feel welcome and treated us like they have known us for years, the youngman even walked the glass out to our car, i really do appreciate their great service and friendliness. I hope they are around FOREVER!!! I’d pick them over the larger stores any day. They have gained a customer for life!

I can’t tell you how helpful these guys are. From the time you walk in they’d people help you find what you are looking for. It is so unlike the big chain wear house hardware stores it’s what keeps me coming back the knowledge and customer service they provide. It’s another 10 or 15 min to get there but worth it.

This is a wonderful, small hardware.store. located in south city, there is a private parking lot and the
always exceptionally clean. There are people waiting at the door to. greet you and offer assistance. Today, the greeter not only asked what I needed but walked me to the section and offered suggestions. When I selected my item, the same employee. jumped behind the counter and rang out my purchase. No waiting at all.
Great place, always friendly, and much more. efficient than the big box stores.

Our neighborhood go to store if we just need one harware/​fix-​it item and don’t want to run to Lowe’s or Home Depot. All the people working there have been helpful so far.

A fantastic little Mom & Pop hardware store with excellent customer service. I was in need of a stiff bristle brush to clean the BBQ grill and did not want to venture that far from my hood. Since I was out running other errands in the neighborhood like getting my 4^th of July tan at Tan Co., I stopped by STVH to see if they had what I needed.
As I entered the store, I was immediately greeted by a young man and asked what I needed. I told him what I needed he walked me over to a variety of brushes that meet my needs. When I commented it was to clean the BBQ grill, he picked one up that also had a scrapper attached and said, «I recommend this one.» He was right, it was perfect and exactly what I was hoping for.
The same associate then walked me to the check out and proceeded to ring me out and close the sale. He then thanked me, wished me a happy holiday and asked me to come back again. My entire shopping experience was with one person, how refreshing. I was in and out of there with what i needed in under 5 minutes.
Who needs a Big Box store when you have Big Service at a mom & pop store. Support your hood, shop local.

This is a great neighborhood store. When I’m in a jam and need hardware of some sort, this is where I’m running to. They give the best customer service and if they don’t know something, they’ll ask someone who does. This is a great place; use them.

This hardware store has replaced Lowe’s for me. I can walk here in 2 minutes and pick up what I need in a hurry. The guys who work here are hands-​down the most helpful dudes I’ve ever come across in a hardware store. Although I normally do some research before I venture to such an establishment, I’m a chick and could use a little guidance. Want to find someone to help you out at Lowe’s? FORGET IT! I always walk out of there so frustrated. At True Value, someone is always there to assist within 30 seconds of entering the building. I’m always in & out within 3 – 4 minutes tops. That’s what I call service.
