Salon & Spa at The Chase Park Plaza

Went as part of a bridal party for make up– cost $ 60 for full face, including lips/​eyes/​skin makeup. For $ 60 I would expect that my makeup artist would spend longer than 10 minutes on my entire look. The skin make up was awful– the bronzer wasn’t blended, she barely put any foundation base on and appeared inexperienced with the products/​makeup in general. Also, because they are limited to Aveda products only, they did not have primer (seriously?) or liquid eye liner. She tried to convince me that the look would be better in different lighting, but I disliked it in outdoor lighting and indoor lighting. I specifically asked for a slightly heavier makeup look to accommodate all of the photographs we would be taking.
I decided to request a refund and was only partially refunded. The staff was relatively polite about it but certainly not going out of there was despite the fact that out of the 5 girls getting make up, 2 with the same artist were very upset and the 3 that were okay with their looks had a different artist.

Being new to the St. Louis area, and having not found a salon I really liked yet, I made the ultimate mistake and I got a really TERRIBLE haircut on Saturday evening at another hair salon. When I got home and realized how bad it was, I knew I needed to get it fixed before Monday morning.
I called first thing Sunday morning, and they were able to get me an appointment for that afternoon. Teresa was wonderful, and so understanding. There wasn’t much that could be done for my hair, but she evened it out and did everything that was possible to accommodate what I was asking for. In fact, she consulted me before nearly every cut she made. The atmosphere was awesome, and they offered my boyfriend and I drinks several times. I paid a fair price, especially for such an upscale salon. Also, she didn’t try to push products on me, and she asked me what I like to put in my hair before putting anything in, which I really appreciated. On the bright side of my weekend hair fiasco, I have found a stylist that I really like, and I will definitely be back to see Teresa again!

We spent the day here for Valentines and everything was wonderful. I was pleased with the efforts of the representative who set everything up for us directly. We had three people in our party and the scheduling was very complicated but the young lady patiently and politely handled the booking. Upon arrival we were approached by a woman informing us that they typically did not service children but since everything was already reserved she had me fill out the paperwork and allowed my daughter to participate in our spa day. This could have gone in a totally different direction and gave the staff the opportunity to exert professionalism. They did not disappoint! I began with a facial and peel with Elise. She was wonderful! Some estiticians are good but hasty and this was not the case. I was very pleased with the service. I then had a massage with a woman and I cannot recall her name but she too was awesome. Honestly it was one of the best massages I have ever had. By the time I came out she was gone which was disappointing because I wanted to get a card from her. My husband also enjoyed his experience immensely. We will definitely be back very soon!

Enjoyed my quite afternoon getting my hair done by Becka at the Chase. Love the building, the atmosphere and personal attention of the Spa. She does a beautiful job. Parking in the garage is convenient and they pay for it. Love walking through the lobby of the hotel. So beautiful.

Went here for a full leg wax ($ 75) and pedicure ($ 55). Definitely not cheap, but was expecting top dollar experience…

The pedicure on the other hand was a joke. There was no room heat by the pedicure station; instead they offer you a blanket and a small dinky heater to warm you up. When it’s 35 degrees outside, and at an expensive hotel spa, that’s not acceptable.
The chair for the pedicure was weird. No massage functionality with the chair. When they work on your feet, they just soak your feet into a basin with warm water (no jets) and leave you there for 15 minutes; no massage or anything while you wait/​freeze. Then they come back and wheel off the basin (which is placed on top of this dinky rolling contraption) and tilt your chair backwards (at around a 135 degree angle) when they work on your feet. Yeah, it’s weird.
And the pedicure you get is not well done. Not thorough nor professional looking.
Lastly, they don’t have a nail dryer. Wtf, what spa that offers nail services at this price doesn’t have a dryer. When asked if they have drying drops to help my nails dry as I have to put my shoes on (it’s cold outside, very common to do in the NE/​NYC), the nail technician looked at me puzzled. So my pedicure got ruined.
Summary: SKIP, unless you like wasting your money.

Worst massage I’ve ever had. Ever. Spent most of the time trying to fight the urge to yell STOP!!! Used about 5x too much oil and just rubbed back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. Zero technique (how is this person qualified?!?) and felt mostly like a very creepy sunscreen application by a weak old man. Foot massage was creepy kept slowing down and stopping like the person doing it was falling asleep — too weird. This person should NOT be giving massages it’s clear they have zero training. Massage on thighs stopped about 3−4in above my knee. Nothing on hips or butt despite my note saying they were tight and could used some attention. Have been doing many squats lately and was looking forward to leg massage — well my ankles (?!?) got more of a massage then my sore legs. Nothing on upper chest or stomach. Full price for a massage that didn’t even attend to my entire body!
Dual exfoliation facial was nice, nothing special and not sure worth $ 200 but well executed and very lovely therapist.
Tips for the spa in general:
— Proper spa guests usually arrive early — expecting to change into a robe and relax. Waiting :25min listening to pop music isn’t super relaxing for a ‘spa’
— No facilities to shower is also not a spa — it’s a massage parlour in a hair salon. Treatments left me so greasy that I got oil all over my clothes putting them back on
— Rooms were way too cold. I was covered in goosebumps and shivering through my first treatment. This should have been noticed but also just in general treatment rooms should be warm!
— Both treatments on my back I had zero neck or head support. The back of my head was hurting being on a hard table.
— Lastly I gave a bit of feedback when asked to the front desk and was not even offered an apology or anything to rectify the situation. She then asked how much I wanted to tip?!? Terrible service.

I am not from this area, but I am so glad I found this place. I have migraines and tension headaches and sometimes, a massage is just what I need to de-​stress. I’ve seen Adrianna and Megan for massages and they were both AMAZING! I’m pretty sure I fell asleep I was so relaxed.
My only complaint is about parking. I gave them my parking pass to validate it so I didn’t have to pay. The receptionist said she validated it, but I was still charged $ 10 to park in the parking garage!

Regina is outstanding, the best mani/​pedis ever and a fantastic relaxed attitude. I don’t normally even get my nails done but always try to make an appointment when in STL bc she is so great.

i agree that the spa and salon should receive separate reviews.
i chose one of the longer, more in depth treatments here (Chase Signature Facial, $ 110), and left unsatisfied. the aesthetician seemed to barely be going through the motions. no real facial massage, no real exfoliation, not even a mention of extractions (yes, icky, but part of the process!). everything was sort of tepid and hesitant and weak. i did everything i could to engage her, even asking outright for advice on my skin. nothing. hello? is there anybody home? i’ve had $ 40 facials at Aveda schools that were much more personalized and effective.
if you’re looking for a technical facial to address specific concerns, you won’t find it here. this was just a long relaxation treatment, not really skin care. very disappointing. considering the price, i really want to give it just one star. there wasn’t anything terribly, terribly wrong about it, but there wasn’t anything right, either.

This past weekend I had a great experience as part of a bridal party. There were about 10 of us in the salon for hair and makeup, we brought in breakfast for the girls and everyone was buzzing about with excitement… essentially we took over the salon! The staff was so accommodating and the stylists did an amazing job. I’m so particular about my hair and was a bit nervous about getting an updo but the stylist listened to my ideas and it turned out great!

I had a great experience at this salon. I was part of a bridal party, and the salon did all of the updos and more. My stylist was quiet and sweet. She listened to my requests and did a great job. The staff were very accommodating throughout the day, as we spent several hours «hanging out» in the salon watching each other get ready. They even let us have catered food brought in for the bridal party, and they did not act like we were a nuisance in any way. In addition, everyone was offered complimentary mimosas and other beverages throughout the entire visit. I was impressed.
I was also impressed with how much they listen to their clients. I have been to many salons where their approach is to push you in the direction they think is best. I understand they are masters at their craft, but if a girl’s not comfortable in it, then it doesn’t matter how perfect the execution is. Case in point, the bride wanted to have very understated makeup. The makeup artist was very accommodating with this request and did not pressure the bride at all (who left the salon happy as a clam with her minimal makeup of lip and eye color only).
Kudos to a great salon in a cool location!

The Salon and Spa at the Chase is my favorite place to get pampered. The staff is amazing. The front desk staff is very attentive and recognize you by name after a few visits. All the stylist are amazing. Leila currently does my hair and she always knows exactly what I need. Kelly, Kitty, Becka, Emily, Craig, Sara and Shanna are amazing as well. I have been to all of them for different hair services. I love Aveda color as well! The spa is a smaller section off the salon area. Sometimes (Saturdays) the spa can be loud because of the salon traffic– Although, it doesn’t matter because the massage therapist (Talah, Megan and Jeni) are hands down the best! Highly, highly recommend this place. Its the only place to go in St. Louis!

Love this place! Kelly does an amazing job on my hair, I am always super happy with the cut and color! The products that they use here make my hair feel so healthy. And the color is so rich and vibrant.

My first trip to the Salon at the Chase was for a haircut and color, as well as my wedding «trial» updo and makeup. I could not have been more pleased! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly, I can’t wait to go back for the big day. Kitty and Megan did an excellent job, and I am sure I will continue to use the Salon & Spa at The Chase even after the wedding. I highly recommend them if you have a special occasion coming up, or if you are looking for a new hairstylist.

The salon should be separate from the spa. I am commenting on the men/‘s salon only. In an establishment like the Chase, you’d think my husband could get a hot shave! They don’t offer a shave…

The salon and spa really deserve two separate listings, as expectations can vary a lot from a haircut to a spa treatment. I would add a star for the salon. Overall, though, this is a classy joint with the attentive service you would expect from its upscale hotel location. Thoughtful touches like orange-​flavored water and chocolate mints add to the girl-​about-​town feel. I felt in good hands with Leila, and she successfully wooed me as a regular after giving me a cut, highlight and wax exactly as I asked for. I also had a nice massage and facial on a different visit, but it’s strange that the spa operates out of a side hall in the salon and doesn’t have its own waiting area — the busy salon atmosphere was a strange prelude to a relaxing (and expensive) afternoon of pampering.

I’ve been twice to get pedicures at the Chase Park Plaza spa. It’s a very nice and calming space. When you walk in you are greeted at a desk and then led to a nice sitting area to wait for your pedicurist. Based on Amanda D.‘s review, I knew they had wine, which is a must for me when enjoying a relaxing pedicure. I bet the greeter at the spa listed out about 10 other things (water, coffee, tea, juice, soda, etc) before I jumped in and said, «do you have any wine?»…and then, phew, she brought me a glass.
Once I got back to the pedicure area (there are two stations), I was in heaven. The woman who was working on me was pleasant, and not overly talkative, so I was able to read a magazine, sip my wine, and really relax. She did a great job on my feet. They were soft and the polish job was wonderful.
As a note, it is not the cheapest place to go, but totally worth the money to me. If you want to splurge a little, give it a try!

My sister and I arrived at the Salon & Spa to spend an afternoon of relaxation while celebrating her birthday. We were greeted by a friendly woman and offered beverages. We took advantage of a glass of wine and were seated in the waiting area. After filling out our forms, I was taken to my 1-​hr Swedish massage and my sister to her facial. My massage was amazing! The masseuse was very professional and I loved the Aveda products she used. My sister agreed that her facial was one of the best she’d ever had. We then went on to our pedicures, where we had the same amazing, professional service. All of the employees were very friendly and made us feel at home while being pampered. Overall it was a very relaxing and fun day and we plan to make it an annual birthday event!
