Saint Louis Running Tour

Had a great running experience today. I was the only one who showed up for a tour today and ended up getting an outstanding one-​on-​one tour of the city and its landmarks by Joe. I highly recommend this to any style runners. He makes lots of stops and runs at the slowest runner’s pace.

I would recommend this tour to anyone, who likes running and learning new things at the same time. The run is at a pleasant pace, there are frequent stops in front of important buildings or places in St Louis. The tour guide is very knowledgable and nice. I enjoyed the tour a lot!

Joe is wonderful. i can’t recommend this enough. If you like running even a little bit and want a different experience, this is it. It’s was very nice to get to run around downtown without 1000s of other people :-) like the typical 5k. The history was captivating, even for a girl who barely knows when our city was founded (thank goodness for the 250 cakes, right???) Great time… Doing it again for sure :-) Who’s coming with me???

My girlfriend and I joined Joe bright and early at 8am during the Memorial Day weekend for his fantastic running tour around downtown St. Louis. Joe offered a wealth of knowledge and insights on the rich history as well as current significance that makes St. Louis the great city it is today. We were concerned we would not be able to keep up, as we don’t typically run long distances, but we finished the ~4.5 mile route not feeling at all exhausted. Joe made sure the pace was comfortable to the group and we had plenty of time to catch our breath during the many stops on the tour for Joe to explain a structure or story in greater detail, but Joe did also impressively keep us engaged with information while running as well. My favorites on the tour were running through the great sculptures in the Citygarden and seeing the ornate interior of the old St. Louis Union Train Station. Joe was awesome enough to take and share photos of us all along the tour. It was a bit difficult for us to wake up that early on a Saturday, it paid off to see the city before it gets too hot in the day, and you get to see the city with minimal tourists awake as well.
Cost was $ 25/​person or $ 35/​person if you wanted a St. Louis Running Tour shirt to take home with you. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a fun and active way to see the best of St. Louis.
