Came here for lunch on a whim. Based on my experience this place deserves better than 2 stars on Unilocal!Had the baby back ribs and they were perfectly smoked and fall off the bone tender. Sauce is sweet KC style with a small bit of heat. I prefer a less sweet sauce, but this was good for standard KC style. Service was fast and adequate, prices were reasonable, and the place was clean. I can’t speak for the rest of the food, but if you like baby back ribs, this is worth a second look.

My family and I come here all the time. Great and friendly service. I completely disagree with all the bad reviews. Yes we all miss Penny’s but come on I know you don’t miss those table clothes and adhesive on the wall. This place is new and improved with music and cool designs on the tables. Also I highly recommend the potato skins with bacon or the burgers or grilled chicken that are cooked to your liking.

Don’t go in expecting it to be Pennies food and recipes just under a new name. I had the chicken tenders with the house hot sauce. The batter on the chicken was different but okay and the hot sauce tasted pretty generic. I had slaw and french fries as my sides. The slaw had no flavor and was dry. The green beans were bland. We had a party of 5 and everyone was disappointed even though we tried to think of it as a new place.

We were hesitant to try this place after seeing the reviews. But we were pleasantly surprised! The service was great. The food was good; the pork steak was huge! The only thing not positive– the deviled egg potato salad had an odd color. But we will definitely go back.

Horrible, bad service bad food. A bunch of in educated in professional people including the owner and so terribly rude! Save your money

Not worth the money food taste like crap! Would not recommend this to anyone. They need a new cook. Obviously no one on there management reads these post otherwise they would do something about it. I would never go there again not even if you paid me.

Ate here for the first time today and it will be my last. Ordered a full order of ribs (slab) with two sides (French fries and corn). Total was $ 29.11!!! That’s the most I’ve ever paid for ribs ANYWHERE including Rendezvous and Corky’s in Memphis and any of the amazing places in KC.
The ribs tasted good but were ridiculously fatty. I asked for the sauce on the side and was given 1 tiny cup about the size of half a Jell-​O shot. The tiny order of fries had pepper sprinkled on them (WTF?) and I also ordered corn which I thought would be corn on the cob but nooooo. It was disgusting frozen corn that you’d get with your lunch in grade school. No bread or Texas toast or anything else to accompany the meal.
When I walked in to pick it up the place had no one else in it but cussing bikers. There is no way I will be back. Not unless every other BBQ place in St. Louis closed and they’re the last dump standing.

Well… been going there since it was pennys for over the last 3 years, not the best bbq but it was close and cheap so I went there probably 4 times a month. A few weeks back I placed a pick up on a sunday, had a beer while I waited, bill was about 17 or 18 bucks, generously tipped 8 bucks cause I am a manager in the business as well… I get to my destination and open the box up to the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen! First of all I oredered pulled pork which this was not it… but I was starving so I dug in… it was nothing but huge chunks of fat… I called in and told em and they said oh that’s our beef, absolutely disgusting! So they tell me they’ll replace it, I make the call today and they tell me the person I spoke with had been let go and so they wouldn’t help me… my friends stopped coming with me cause they said it was disgusting, my family won’t go with me for the same reason, but I continued to go once a week alone cause it was like I said, close, cheap, and a neighborhood establishment, but now they have lost me as well… good luck guys, bad food and mishandling your customers will give you the same fate pennys had. P. S…the plan to start there for a bday gathering are now definitely off the table

Waitress was the only nice thing at this visit. It took forever to get our food (7:30 pm Friday night and very few people) then husband got a moldy bun on his burger. I now understand why there were very few people here on a Friday evening. We loved Penny’s but will NOT be back here.

Pizza is good. First time we went the service was good. We went again on Thursday evening and had a bad visit. The waitress was nice. We ordered appetizers and then a pizza. 20 minutes later the appetizers came out followed 2 minutes later by our pizza! I ordered a mixed drink that took over 10 minutes to get. Did I mention there was not many people there! I heard the waitress asked if the bartender had made the drink yet. The bartender shrugged her shoulders. There was a small group making a lot of noise while we were there. It seemed like they worked there or knew someone because they kept walking into the back room with their beers. Very unprofessional! When we left we had to walk through a cloud of smokers, one of which was the bartender.
We had spoke with the owner on a previous visit and thought it would be a nice place to come back to by the way he talked.
I don’t think we will be back. No matter how the food is. It seems to be turning into a hang out for loud, obnoxious drinkers.

Different than penny’s, but much better. The AC works, lots of big new TV’s, the whole place had a much needed freshening up. Katie served our table and was excellent. The food is better than I remember from previous owners, but the portion sizes can still be defined as GIANT. I had a steak sandwich and it was the perfect size and temperature. I have a new great spot in south county to frequent.
