Quest Diagnostics

My children and I needed some work done all in the same day. I did this because I have one little one that has never had blood drawn. Soon could comfort her. Anyhow when we arrived there was no greeting. Just «wheres your paper work and insurance». That immediately raised a red flag for me. Which nect should come to no surprise. I wanted my work done first so my little one can see how it was done. Then it was her turn. This lady (not a tech because I heard her say she wasn’t on the phone) didnt bother to prep my child for the draw or anything. She was literally mute. Now I didnt expect her to make a scene or anything but she could gave said look he other way or breathe. Not to mention how she kept pushing me to pay with cash, credit or debit… she seemed like a robot. I will never go to this location again.

It is so simple. Check-​in, name called, blood drawn and you’re on your way.
I had no idea this location was so close to home. I have always used the Quest closer to my doctors office, stopping by on my way home. This time I had to have blood drawn a week before seeing a specialist, so I Googled Quest and found this location which is conveniently located in my hood. It is hidden on the backside of the building so it is unnoticeable as you drive by the medical building. Out of site, out of mind.
I did not go on-​line and make an appointment ahead of time. I just showed up, signed my name on the registry and took a seat. I barely had time to check in on Unilocal and my name was being called. I presented the technician with my paperwork, insurance card and ID. She quickly got busy, preparing the vacutainer tubes as I tried to relax listening to the music playing from a small boom box she had sitting on the floor. I HATE having my blood drawn and have veins that most technicians hate. My veins are small, roll and hide when it is time to be poked and drained. My tech was not chatty, but she was professional. I give her four stars because, she jabbed me without hurting me and got in a vein on the first poke. I was In and Out in nothing flat, it was express service at its’ best.
Now that I know a Quest is near my home, I may make this location my choice for blood draws. Instead of using the one near my doctors office, I’ll come here. When I’m finished here, I can get myself a treat at Starbucks or Ted Drew’s which both are conveniently located across the street. You get a treat when you donate blood, why not get one after having a blood draw.

Quest diagnostics is one of those places that your Dr. sends you to have all of those lovely tests done (blood work, etc.). I stopped by for some blood work and was happy with low wait times (pre-​booking my appt online helped). I also liked that my friendly technician gave me a pain free experience. Parking is fairly convenient at this location.

I don’t know what happened to this place since their remodel, but I will never go back here. They are in dire need of a receptionist. As it is it’s like a Satre play. People wander in and wait forever. People are called in random order. You can’t even talk to a real person on the phone. You have to go through a useless registration process to get an «appointment.» Then the appointments are not followed.
At least the blood draw was professional and safe, but really there must be someplace else to get one.
