History

Established in 1977.

Begun in Alma, by Bob Needham, Needham’s moved to our present location in November 1982.

Originally selling about everything except ceiling tile and paneling, we slowly pared our offerings down to what we knew best: flooring. In the past few years, we’ve expanded back into window treatments, with the Hunter Douglas line.

Bob retired in 1998, and son Jeff incorporated the business that same year.

The past few years have been tough for all, and no different with this business. We’ve adapted to the economic climate, and our sailing towards calmer seas, buoyed by an adherence to expanding knowledge, promoting the value in our offerings, Providing consistent quality in our installation, and caring service after the sale. This has been measured through the publics’ voting for us as Gratiot County’s Favorite Floor Store 12 straight years.

Business Owner

36 years in the flooring business, 33 in this store, and the past 13 as owner. I have worked as warehouse and delivery labor, installer’s helper, installer, salesman, and owner.

Husband of 38 years, father of three daughters, and Grandfather to six– 5 girls and one grandson.

Former member of Alma JayCees, current member of Gratiot Chamber of Commerce and Home Builders Association of Central Michigan.

Active in my business, taking related seminars at every opportunity. Otherwise enjoy my home and yard, and a few summer sunsets on the patio at the lake.
