Specialties
Loving, expert and complete veterinary care for dogs and cats since 1992
From annual wellness exams and vaccinations to surgical and diagnostic care, your pet will receive the best personalized veterinary medical care at My Best Friend Veterinary Center. We consider our own pets family members and treat our patients the same way.
Our philosophy is that the ultimate health of your dog or cat begins with preventive care. We try to avoid hospitalization because animals do better in a familiar environment; however, when hospitalization is necessary we encourage you to call for updates and arrange for visits. Your best friend will feel at ease and even look forward to coming to see us. The trust and closeness that makes a dog or cat part of your family will carry through at My Best Friend.
We offer 30 minute appointments to provide an unrushed thorough visit with lots of time for your questions.
History
Established in 1992.
My Best Friend Veterinary Center in St. Louis, Missouri, has provided complete veterinary care for dogs and cats since 1992. In February of 2013 we moved into our BRAND NEW building, just four properties east of our original clinic on Olive Blvd. Our square footage has doubled, we have more customer parking (extra spaces in rear of building), and we invested in a lot of new equipment to better serve our patients. You will love our new space!
Meet the Business Owner
Bill S.
Business Owner
Dr. Bill Stehnach grew up in Chesterfield and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia for undergraduate studies and then for veterinary school. After receiving his DVM in 1981, he served four years as a veterinarian in the United States Air Force, stationed first in the Philippines and then in Athens, Greece. On his return home to the «real world» here in St Louis in 1985, Dr. Bill joined County Animal Hospital in Manchester, and in 1990, he helped start up Veticare Animal Hospital in St Charles.
In 1992, Dr. Bill decided it was time to «strike out on his own» and created My Best Friend Veterinary Center on Olive Blvd near I-170. This central location proved easily accessible to the many clients who followed him. After 30+ years of practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Bill is glad and fortunate to have the help of two terrific, experienced veterinarians, Dr. Sandy and Dr. Tim, along with a knowledgeable and fun staff. «It is easy to come to work when you love what you do.»
