Maggiemoo’s

I have been coming here for years with my kids. It’s a school tradition to go after games or shows. We hadn’t been back in a while and I promised the kids we could go for ice cream.
We went on a quiet Sunday evening. There was one young female employee working. I asked her where all the flavors of frozen yogurt were (there used to be many) and she replied that they only had vanilla and the other half of the machine wasn’t working. I ordered two small ice creams and one small yogurt and requested that the ice cream cones be turned over into cups to keep the kids from dripping everywhere.
At check out, she charged me an extra $ 1 per cone, insisting that since i had an ice cream cone in a cup I had to pay extra for the cone. So in effect those 2 paper cups cost $ 2.
Then I tasted my frozen yogurt. It was horrible. Like stale, non edible horrible. When I went back to the counter to tell her this, she ignored me. When I finally got her attention and requested a refund (I was pretty done at that point) she said she didn’t know how to give a refund so what did I want to do. At that point I just wanted to leave.
My daughter hadn’t finished her ice cream so she went and asked for a lid. The worker gave her a ton of attitude before giving her one. I guess I should be grateful she wasn’t charged for it!
All in all, untrained worker working alone with all attitude and no knowledge of the product or the cash register. She also gave attitude to a little girl, who was really upset about being treated that way. The ice cream itself was good according to the kids. Avoid the frozen yogurt though.
In a final insult, I did call the next day and ask to speak to the manager. I was informed he didn’t come in until 9:30 pm so I left a message. It’s been three days and I’m still waiting for a call. Maybe they never taught the manager how to use the phone?
We are now searching for a new family tradition…

I’ve never heard of Maggiemoo’s outside of St. Louis, but it reminds me of Cold Stone with the super rich flavors and mix-​ins available. I am not a huge ice cream person to begin with but came here with some family who was visiting from out of town.
The service was so so. The employees (high school age girls?) just stood there while we were looking over the flavors and said they «didn’t know» when we asked for suggestions/​popular flavors. OK then. I opted for mint ice cream with sno caps candy mixed in in a chocolate waffle cone. This thing was amazing, I’ll give them that. Everyone else enjoyed their ice cream.
Haven’t been to Cold Stone in a while to compare but Maggiemoo’s did seem pricey to me. For 3 adults getting 1 – 2 scoops each and 1 child getting 1 tiny scoop, it was just over $ 25.

I’ve been there a few times during the evening and there’s always plenty of parking. There are a few tables insides to sit and eat at, which is always great. The workers are helpful and efficient, but not super chatty. They can sometimes be a little curt with you, especially if it’s busy.
But the ice cream is good, and it’s nice because they have unlimited mix ins and well as free waffle cones. Would definitely return.

I love the ice cream and location, but the service is horrible! The teenagers are rude and have no customer service skills. They invite friends to the shop, and have conversations in front of the customers. I hate bringing my kids because these teenagers act like that have no respect and show a poor example.

Just recently visited Maggie moos and had never been so disappointed. There was a special for unlimited mix ins advertised jan 17, 2015. At my request gummies were not added. Once reminded the guy added 4. When I requested more he added 2. Disappointed… Instead of asking him to remake it I asked for more in tiny cup to do myself. I discovered that he added an extra charge w/​o informing me, but basically for his screw up. Stating it’s extra for a side of mixins and that he never heard my request initially. I told him I’ve been patronizing this business for years and never been treated so rudely. By the way there were 2 new faces, the only 2 workers there. Come to find out Maggie Moos on Ladue in St. Louis is under «new ownership»… And I can clearly tell because the service SUCKS and it’s dirty inside… Not well kept as it has been prior to these new folks.

The brats said the ice-​cream was good. I would not have let them eat it if I had seen the restroom first.
This has to be the most grotesque bathroom in all of Ladue. It reeked of urine and feces– both of which could be seen on the commode. The walls were filthy with a sticky substance I can only hope was ice cream. The spiderwebs near the toilet paper dispenser made it clear this restroom does not get regular attention.
This is where employees are supposedly washing their hands? I shudder to think of the sanitation decisions made for the ice cream scoopers and countertops. You have been warned. Double scoop of Hepatitis, anyone?

I cannot support this business anymore.
Background: I used to pick this up for my wife every friday or saturday night. Then they changed owners. Unilocal should clear out the history to get a clear view of what this place is like with new ownership. New ownership doesn’t know how to run a business or customer service. Here are the specifics:
1. they raised prices. They veil this in «unlimited toppings» but really… are we dumb? I just left there and it was just under $ 12 for 2 small ice creams…
2. Part of the $ 12 was that they charge $ 1 for a waffle cone ON THE SIDE! I found out about this as i was paying, not in advance. Obviously if you get it on the side, it uses an extra cup (as the ice cream is then in the cup with cone on side…) BUT $ 1 EACH?
3. He let almost all of the staff go.
4. The waffle cones are smaller.
5. again, the prices are just not competitive. At all. You could drive to ted Drws, get 3 or 4 things, spend the $ on gas and still have money left over.
Yes, this is a real review from a real person… a very sad person who misses his old Maggies. I will not be back. period.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Maggie Moo’s ice cream as much as the next person, but there’s no doubt that this particular location is on the decline.
I’ve been three times recently and each time the customer service has been subpar. What is really unacceptable is their cake service.
I went into the store on Sunday and placed an order for a custom cake (the caramel peanut butter crisp with better batter ice cream instead of the sweet cream it usually comes with). I also asked them to add Reese’s cups, which I was charged extra for. When I went to pick up the cake yesterday (Wednesday), they said it wasn’t ready – even though I arrived 90 mins after I said I would. When the cake and out, I grabbed it and left because I was in a rush.
Big mistake. I wish I had taken the time to look at it before I got home because it looked TERRIBLE! It looked like something I could have made (a sloppy pool of caramel, jagged writing) AND they didn’t use the ice cream I’d asked for or add the Reese’s that I paid for.
I had to go out and buy another cake because my husband (the person that I was buying it for!) hates the ice cream they used and it looked so bad that I was embarrassed to serve it to friends.
Last cake I order from here. Be warned!

i like their ice cream so i ordered the classic cookie and cream ice cream cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. i was very disappointed when i picked it up. the writing on the cake was not only sloppy but also in yellow piping. there wasn’t a color option when designing/​ordering the cake online, but i would think they would have the common sense to not write in light yellow on a white cake. some of the other cakes on display had very uneven borders so it seems like decorating isn’t their forté.
the cake turned out to be quite delicious and one of the best cookies and cream cakes we’ve had, but if you’re going for looks look elsewhere.

Please do not purchase the Unilocal deal for this store. After I purchased the deal, the store refused to accept it. The associated even called the store manager, and she said they could no longer accept them due to «safety reasons» However, she acknowledged the deal was still online (and still is now a week later).
Unfortunately, they could not offer any discount or process my deal. This was very disappointing in regards to customer service.
The ice cream was mediocre. Huge portions of overly sweet ice cream, nothing refreshing or creative about their offerings. The store itself seemed to be in need of some deep cleaning.

This place, as I like to tell my friends, is «Coldstones on crack.» Melt in your mouth, bursting with flavor awesomeness! I love bringing new comers here. Totally worth ever penny. Their red velvet ice cream may taste better than red velvet cake itself!

Insanely delicious. They have the standard ice cream flavors with a few out-​of-​the-​ordinary, and you really can’t go wrong with all the mixings you can have «folded» into your ice cream, Cold Stone Creamery style. My boyfriend can’t get enough of the strawberry shortcake and cream cheese style they offer. I plan to take my dad there when he visits, since Ice Cream is his favorite:) One disclaimer — be prepared to shell out $ 6 – 7 a person.

If you like deeply flavorful and really fresh tasting ice creams served in a very clean little ice cream parlor, then Maggie Moo’s is one of the new genre ice cream parlor that is as good as it gets this side of Venice, Italy.
We were there last night and their deep, dark flavorful chocolate was delicious.
OK so I did not add any of the candy or other stuff they will mix in for you, but who needs it? Their ice cream is great by itself and there are a wonderful selection of them.
The servers work hard, and the place is kept über clean.
I love it.

A lot of Coldstones have been closing lately (Kirkwood and Delmar locations) and I’m really scared the Lindbergh one will go away, and then I’ll HAVE NOTHING! But no fear, Maggiemoo’s is much like Coldstone :)
I got the crazy peanut butter mix! It was delicious and at first I was like «Okay this is a little pricier than Coldstone…» but holy crap they give you SO MUCH ICE CREAM! I could hardly finish it, and that is not like me! Oh and we used the Unilocal deal so we got two mediums for only $ 7! But I still don’t like the ice cream as much as Coldstone, but I think that’s only because I’m a Coldstone regular. I can learn to love ya, Maggiemoo’s.
I wanna come back and try more!

They had me the moment I saw their Red Velvet Ice Cream. I quickly asked for a sample and it was a winner, so I ordered a scoop. The friendly associate asked me which topping I wanted and I said none. He was a champion salesman, informing me that my first topping was free. When I still said no thank you, he told me most people blend brownies with the RV. He even gave me a sample of the brownie to help me make up my mind. I gave in and enjoyed my Red Velvet Cake Ice Cream blended with a brownie.
For me Maggiemoo is better then Cold Stone. On a revisit, I blended white chocolate chips and for me that was a better topping then the brownie.
Also, keep in mind that Maggiemoo’s offers Unilocal Deals.

I’ve never seen a maggiemoos until I moved to st. Louis. I would say it’s much like coldstone in the way they serve their ice cream and just as tasty. How can you hate rich and creamy ice cream? I know I can’t. I got the vanilla with red velvet and chocolate chips… melted in my mouth! I suggest getting a kids cup size, unless you are Lou Ferrigno.
My only qualm is that I wish they had more outdoor seating than just a couple benches. Other than that I am glad I live a 5 minute drive from here! I surely will be back!

If you like Coldstone Creamery or Marble Slab, then Maggimoo’s is a place for you. The pricing is similar, and so is the ice cream, but that’s not an insult. When you got it right, just keep doing it right.
My personal favorite is the red velvet ice cream with chocolate chunks. It has a wonderful mouth feel, something smooth and flavorful! The chocolate chunks are not too big or too small.
It’s ice cream at it’s best. Try it, and enjoy!!!

Seriously good ice cream. No ice cream store can beat it, in my over 40 years of ice cream eating.
They even have scoopable yogurt that is low fat. The chocolate kind is outrageously good.
Here is where I’m confused, dissatisfied and dessert-​less.
You can guess how not fun it is to go into a place like this and then just have to leave. All that ice cream there and no treat for you.
Annoying the first time? yes. Going to 3 different stores and getting basically the same problem? Time to not come back.
In the future, as long as I am dieting for certain, I am going to go to other establishments (frozen yogurt places) that actually carry what they say they do.
Nothing makes a dieting person as cranky as teasing them with a yummy dessert that they can not have! RAWR.
We have been to 3 different stores of Maggie moos… All singing a different tune about their low fat yogurt: 1^st store“sorry have never had any.” (!!!) 2^nd oh yeah that sign out front says we have 3 flavors but we only make 1 at a time, sometimes 2, 3^rd store. OH we only make one flavor at a time. (?) What is with the advertising with this place?
So you carry 3 kinds of low fat yogurt but not really?
I WILL be going somewhere else. Three times is it for me. I don’t like being teased (false advertising sign on the wall at one of their stores) and not getting any. Walking out is like the walk of shame, almost. IF I was capable of feeling shame that is. HA! It was the walk of irritation more then anything. Not that dieting makes me cranky or anything. :p
Horrible nutrition listing on their website. Chocolate/​Vanilla/​Triple Berry low fat yogurt ALL the same calories? No listing of their toppings. No really they don’t. I thought that was illegal? (I really don’t know.)
TLDR: Great Ice Cream, Great Service, you are just out of luck if you want the low fat scoopable yogurt as they advertise that they have (call first,) also they do not list the nutritional information of their many toppings on their website. You want low fat yogurt? Go somewhere else. At least they will have what you want.

Absolutely love Maggie Moo’s ice cream.
This is my go-​to for those days when my cravings speak louder than my personal trainer. Ted Drewe’s can kiss my butt. For my money, Moo’s is where it’s at.
Their better batter is AMAZING. My personal favorite is Red Velvet which is phenomenal in their ice cream cakes. They also have a ridiculous amount of toppings, including TWINKIES and Captain Church cereal. Let it be known that people are going to act like they’ve lost their minds when you show up to a party or family function with ice cream cake. It’s like you’ve won the lottery, in your mouth.
Plus the staff here is always sexy, polite and super friendly (my priorities). They aren’t stingy with samples either; I guess not everyone can be committed to a waffle cone of watermelon laffy taffy with out a test drive.
Beyond ice cream cakes with a variety of super fun decorations (a moving dinosaur?) they also have cupcakes (super trendy) and pre-​packaged pints/​quarts for those Friday nights when you don’t feel like sharing, and want to cry on your couch while watching «The Story of Us.»
