I really like this J. Crew location. Have loved J. Crew’s clothing brand for years. Lots of classic/timeless pieces mixed with trendier/seasonal items. This store is located inside of Plaza Frontenac which is my fav mall in STL. I was in a week or so ago, and they were having some kind of end-of-winter/spring sale. LOTS of clearance left over from their winter stuff — I got a basic long sleeve black tee for about $ 12. A lot of the new spring items were up to 30% off also. Stocked up on their classic chino shorts — love love love love love! Sales people have always been friendly without being overbearing. The lady who checked me out asked if anyone else had helped me and complimented the shorts I was getting. I don’t always shop at J. Crew but will always be back for wardrobe staples.

This J Crew is easily my favorite one in STL and this is mainly because of it’s selection. It has way more product than the Galleria location… especially for Men’s. Easily 2x as much. For some reason I always forget about this one and I’m always excited to peruse what they have. This location is also way better because the Galleria is always so crowded(walking into a crowded mall is one of my least favorite things in this world). Also, I see a lot of people complain about the service but I’ve never had a problem. On more than one occasion I’ve had them go the extra mile to find a size I need online or in store. Also, I must note that I hate when people try to help me «too much.» It makes me want to leave. I never get that here. I can do my thing and get help if I need it. I’m like a cranky old man in that respect.

I love J Crew’s clothes — that being said — The staff here is wonderful. I signed up for the free personal stylist and Allison J was so sweet and amazing! She really nailed my style. I also want to add, never once have I felt«out of place» or «looked down upon» as some people feel like when they go to more upscale clothing stores. I have gone in in everything from post-workout to off of work to straight off an international flight(luggage delayed). I love this venue!

J Crew’s clothing is awesome. Nice basics that will last a very long time. And if you wait for sales, the prices aren’t bad at all. the reason for 3 stars? The service. Thank goodness Galleria has a J Crew now because this place is just rude. I’ve been here a few times and you practically have to set up a flare gun in the store just to get someone to help you. Today I was in the dressing room and had tried on a pair of pants that were too big. I went to see if someone could get me a smaller pair and even though the lady working in the dressing room could clearly see me, she decided to ignore me and chit-chat with another customer for like 5 minutes. It took forever for her to acknowledge me and when she did she was short with me. I think this is why I order from the website 90% of the time.

Once upon a time I would’ve given this place a 4 maybe even 5 star because they had selection galore in there and it was of wonderful quality. And the sales/clearance racks and times! Now??? Their selections seem to be dwindling and the quality of the merchandise is going down as well. For example — there used to be a larger selection of dresses and the material was of a stronger quality(as shown by a row of dresses I bought 2 years ago that look as good as the day purchased and I still get compliments on). The material now appears to me as if J Crew is trying to save some dimes… thin, flimsy, some wool no longer fully lined, etc. They don’t have as many choices to pick from anymore. If you like something that you saw online, you have to order it online. True, they always were that way — just more so now. I still love this clothing line, just miffed they don’t have a selection varied enough for me. Now in Chicago or Philly or NJ/NY — yeah! And the staff here can be anything from dry and bland to too damned perky. Just wait on me please in a timely manner and help me when I need sizes. Neither ignore nor hover — thank you very much!

One star docked because they aren’t the best customer service store in the world(that would be J. Crew North Avenue in Chicago circa 2005-07.) But its still J. Crew and I still love it. The people were nice and friendly and I had half a mind to put in some holiday hours this year, but I decided to sit on my butt for my two week Christmas vacation instead. Probably a wise choice since whenever I work there I spend more than I make.

I went to college in New England… what does that have to do with anything? Well, I went to what might be the most stereotypically New England Preppy college in existence… the campus looked like something out of Dawson’s Creek… as unfortunate as that was, my first few years, I loved it. How much did I love it, well, most of my wardrobe came from j. crew and I loved everything about this store, from the sweaters to the jeans to the magic wallet… I couldn’t get enough. Though my wardrobe is not nearly so j. crew anymore, I still stop in to check out the sale table. Since this is the only j. crew in St. Louis, I am forced to go here to find my sweaters for next year every spring and brave the stares at my old car and my Target flip flops as I meander through Frontenac. I have to say, this is not the best j. crew I have ever been in. The service is not stellar, the selection is fairly meager, and the sale rack is never as stocked as my beloved Providence j. crew. I know this clothes is not as popular here as it was in Rhode Island, and I think j. crew may have had it’s hay day, but I sure wish they had a little bit more of a selection at this place. My suggestion… figure out your size(this place runs a little big), and go to the website… this store just won’t have the selection you are desiring, the sales staff is pretty snooty, and the sales online, totally worth it.
