El Comal

First time visiting El Comal last night. Food was excellent! Not the same old Mexican food you are used to (which I love). Authentic dishes from the region of Mexico named Oaxaca. Really good margaritas, albeit a little light on the tequila. Fantastic guacamole!
The only slight negative was that the facility was a little cold. If you get cold easily, bundle up or wait until a mild day.
All in all, my friends & I will definitely return!

This was one of those very casual places I have driven past for many years but, until tonight, had not tried. I’m sad I have not been here before but I’m happy that I have finally discovered this charming little place. It’s very much a family restaurant and the family seemed to be there, kids and all. It gave the place a warm vibe of welcome and home.
The menu is an interesting departure from the standard fare of other places but it’s still familiar enough to be comfortable. Our waitress was happy to explain the menu items and allowed us plenty to time to make a relaxed choice.
I had three of the tacos; carnitas, carne asada, and chorizo. They were served in double-​layer soft corn tortillas that, unlike others, actually held the ingredients in place. The flavors were highly enjoyable and took very well to a few squirts of lime to enhance.
I look forward to future visits to explore more of their menu.
The evening was capped off with a friend of the family showing up with a new electric keyboard and «serenaded» the place with some classical piano music. Fun things like this just don’t happen at Chevy’s.

When you first sit down you get chips with the best salsa in town! While looking over the menu the first thing you notice is that it is an authentic Mexican menu.
I had the Chicken burrito and it was by far the best in town. The tacos are small but pack a flavorful punch.

We recently had lunch on a saturday and the tacos we wonderful. The tortillas are the best I have had in the city. If you want real Mexican food this is the place!
